Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Vine
The village was peaceful, and the Beastmen tribe or now named the "White Fang Tribe" was living peacefully.
It was years ago when some of the Beastmen decided to find their partners and begin their own families. The small tribe that was once only five, then ten, has now expanded to 80 people.
Dux assumed the role of a chieftain, with Lenta by his side. The Beastmen and Beastwomen received their fighting and weaponry training from Fortis.
Meanwhile, Celer has settled down with her mate, though she helps from time to time in agriculture.
Magna the one who was always filled with energy, was the one who is responsible for building new defense mechanisms around the tribe, Callidus had become the village's healer or doctor.
Tardus was the one who manages the safety of the village he also had started a small family of his own, and Mollis became a clothmaker.
Dulcis and Frigus were pretty laid back; the three of them were the ones who worked with the other beastwomen to make garments for everyone.
"Is that Dux?"
Dux was showing signs of maturity; there were little lines on his face. Everyone was aging and had a different appearance.
Cedric checked on the Ogre Tribe.
On the cave was the statue of Orcus and the Apostolos, Hnung was getting older, their overall population reached over 80 now.
They had many goblins and ogre children running around. Phi and Chay had started their own family, and Thirak and Mae had another two children.
Phung was the one who would educate the young children, he was older than the first time Cedric saw him.
Hnung also had wrinkles, he was inside his home. Hnung's home was the same size as the others, goblins started building homes on the huge trees, while the ogres are at the bottom.
"Uncle!!"
Hnung was rubbing his temples, when he heard the call. Hnung glanced at Chay.
"What's wrong?"
Hnung who saw the urgency on Chay's face stood up from his seat. Suddenly the earth started to shake uncontrollably.
"Not again!"
Several of the goblins and ogres were trembling as Chay and Hnung stepped outside. In the middle of the crowd, a large vine was forming a sphere, and the vine had thorns over it.
"Take the other children now!"
Hnung grabbed his axe and hurriedly swung the axe on the vine.
Hissssss
The vine hissed as if it was alive and tried to charge at Hnung, who swiftly moved his body and evaded the attack.
Using his strength, Hnung sliced down the vine.
The children were all evacuated, and Hnung didn't hold back.
He pushed one of his hands through the spiky and razor-sharp vines.
"Found it!"
Hnung pulled a silhouette from the vine, and a small child fell into Hnung's grasp. The vine with its shrieking voice slowly entered the soil and disappeared.
"Uncle is she safe?!"
Chay ran to Hnung, Chay took the child from Hnung's grasp.
He hugged the child immediately,
"Uncle…"
Hnung touched his hand which had numerous cuts on it.
"This is the third time Chay...If this keeps up then Vite would end up hurting everyone in our tribe…"
Chay glanced at the girl in her grasp, the small girl had pale fair skin unlike the green color of the goblin and the gray color skin tone of the ogre. The child had long ears just like a goblin, but the child had different eyes colors with black long hair.
"Uncle…"
"Vite is she alright?!"
A female goblin rushed to Chay's side, seeing the girl fine she heaved a sigh of relief.
"Tipa, Chay…Vite possesses extraordinary prowess, but she can't control that prowess…and this is becoming dangerous for our tribe. No one was hurt but if this keeps up then Vite.."
"Chief are you planning on expelling my daughter?! She's your great-niece! And I'm trying my best to teach her how to control her powers…."
"Uncle…she is still a child, I understand her power is dangerous but she will learn how to control it…"
Hnung glanced at his nephew and the child.
Hnung turned around and walked inside his home without any answer.
Phuna was worried due to Hnung's injuries and followed Hnung.
"Are you alright Hnung?"
"Chief-"
"I told you I'm not the chief anymore, you are.."
"Right.."
Hnung sat down on the wooden chair, he touched his wound.
"Vite is gifted by a power that none of us knew….Not only does she look different, but she also possesses an extraordinary power gifted by our god Orcus.."
Hnung glanced at Phuna.
"But are you sure that she was gifted by our god? That power is strong enough to kill everyone, those vines sharper than any weapon, and sturdier than anything I've ever seen. It regrows every time it gets cut, it's a powerful opponent and has a mind of its own…"
Phuna sighed, he was also conflicted due to the dangerous power Vite possessed.
"Let me see your wound."
Hnung showed his hand, it was bleeding and blood kept falling out of it.
Phuna who saw the injury immediately started his healing spell.
"This is a grave injury…if the vine had used its full strength...then…"
"My hand would have been cut…"
"Truly Vite's power is something else…"
"What do we do Phuna? Our god Orcus hasn't spoken to us for 4 years now, this is the third time Vite has gone on a rampage, though there weren't any of our people wounded, but this has gone too far I don't know what to do…"
"I understand your troubles… your thinking for the betterment of the tribe, but you also thinking of Vite and her family…Her power is both a blessing and a powerful curse.."
Cedric who watched what had happened zoomed on the small girl. Truly she looked different than the others, if Cedric didn't know that she was born from an ogre and a goblin, Cedric would have misunderstood the young girl as an elf.

Cedric was baffled to see the child's stats, not only that, the child has a passive skill called The Vine.
Cedric checked Hnung's stats to see if there was a problem with this child Vite's status.

Cedric glanced at the child Vite who was awake.
"Eat Vite.."
Chay handed a plate filled with vegetables and meat.
"Father….Am I cursed just like the other children said?"
Seeing her daughter in distress, Tipa stood up and held her daughter's wrist.
"Cursed? Who said that to you?!"
"Now hon calm down…And Vite you're not cursed… your gifted.."
"Gifted?… But the other children said that our god Orcus had cursed me…"
[Vite cannot control her prowess, as such sometimes if she is in emotional distress the vine would activate and cause chaos in the tribe…]
[A mission has been created!]
[Raise Vite to control her power..]
"A mission?.."
Cedric glanced at the poor young girl who was crying, her tears soaked her clothes.
"I'm cursed….."
"Orcus does not like me….he has cursed me, mother, father…"
"I'm a monster…."
"Vite-"
[Warning!!]
"I'm a monster…."
Vines sprouted from the ground. Spikes started to wrap Vite.
"Vite!"
Chay grabbed his wife and ran away from their house.
In an instant, the house was destroyed, and a monster made from vines appeared.
Huge reaching 800 meters, its sharp razor-like blade started to rampage.
"What's going on?"
"I-Its Vite run!!"
"Everyone evacuate now!"
Hnung who was being tended by Phuna heard the shouts and pleas outside. Hnung stood up from his seat and ran outside.
A huge creature, with black eyes, and a huge mouth, plus the razor-sharp vines started to attack and destroy the houses and trees around the area.
