Chapter 7: Meeting The Immortal

"Shit, is the immortal here?" Lin Siyu asked in shock.

Her father nodded.

"Behave well and watch your manners. Don't say such words like shit. Got it?"

"Yah, yah pops. I get it." Lin Siyu waved her hand.

Her father shook his head, not knowing what to do.

He sighed and motioned her to follow him.

Lin Siyu stood up and followed her father.

On the way to the guest room, Lin Ziheng suddenly turned around and looked at his daughter.

"Siyu, the immortal from the Lotus Moon Sect, is a leader of one of the peaks. His name is Lu Feng. He's already a mid-stage Nascent Soul Realm cultivator."

Lin Siyu nodded and looked at her father.

"Hey, what realm are you in?" She asked, her eyebrows raising.

"I'm only at the early stage of the Foundation Realm. I'm very strong where we live, but out in the outside world, I can only say that I'm an ant."

Lin Siyu was not surprised when she heard this.

After all, in the cultivation world, strength is everything.

She's seen this multiple times in different stories from her past life.

"Why'd you guys land in this super remote town with zero cultivators in sight? Unless I'm off the mark, you and mom are the only ones packing a cultivation punch around here," she inquired, a touch of curiosity lacing her words.

Her father turned and looked at her.

"Let me ask you a question instead. Why do you live such a pleasant life with servants around you?" He asked.

Lin Siyu shut up hearing this, realising her question was a dumb one.

The two continued walking down the halls until they reached the guest room.

All the siblings were seated, while there was a man who was still standing.

Lin Siyu assumed this person should be Lu Feng.

The man was dressed in a simple black robe, his features were sharp, and his skin was pale.

He had dark green hair and bright green eyes, and his presence was dignified.

As soon as he saw Lin Siyu, his expression changed, and he stared at her intensely.

Lin Siyu was stunned and looked back at him.

The two eyes locked, and Lu Feng looked away and picked up some tea to drink.

"So you're Lin Siyu?" He asked after drinking.

"Yeah, what's the dealio?" Lin Siyu asked.

"I've returned to claim my cultivation tome, but I must admit, I'm quite taken aback by the lightning speed at which you've not only mastered it but also propelled yourself to the lofty realms of the third stage within a mere week. Impressive, indeed." He said, staring at her.

"Such exceptional aptitude is a sight to behold, a rarity beyond reckoning. Witnessing someone tread the path of a forbidden technique is akin to stumbling upon a celestial phenomenon, a spectacle that graces us not every day."

Lin Siyu's father froze when he heard that.

Forbidden techniques are rare and are almost impossible to learn. How did his daughter manage to learn it?

Lu Feng took a sip of his tea and continued.

"The tome, I entrusted to your care, for I was pursued relentlessly by a demon cultivator, and to have it fall into his grasp was a fate I sought to evade. Though my life endured the trial, the time has come for me to reclaim what was once mine. For you see, the significance of such a technique reverberates across all sects, its importance undeniable."

Lin Siyu nodded. She knew that him 'caring' for my health was a load of bullshit.

That's the reason she'd dared to make such a joke about him liking her to her siblings, but it turns out he was using me as a mere tool.

"Ah, though your father might have already unveiled the veil of my persona, allow me to reiterate. I stand as none other than Lu Feng, the illustrious helm of the Obsidian Bridge within the esteemed Lotus Moon Sect. And now, I present you, Lin Siyu, with a proposition. Would you, under my tutelage, become my esteemed disciple?"

The room fell silent, and everyone was shocked.

To be a disciple of the leader of the Obsidian Bridge!

That would give her an extreme amount of influence.

This is something that no one expected.

"What the hell?" Lin Xinyu was the first one to speak.

Everyone in the room looked at Xinyu with stupid eyes.

Not because she spoke, but because she said hell in front of an immortal.

"It's fine." Lu Feng waved his hand, seeing their reaction, and turned to Lin Siyu.

"Your response need not be hastily rendered. Ponder this decision, let it weave through the tapestry of your thoughts. When the appointed time of the entrance exam arrives in a fortnight, I shall anticipate your reply."

Lin Siyu nodded her head in a daze.

She didn't expect that she'd gained so much in the past week.

But she was a little hesitant about accepting him. After all, he used her as a scapegoat.

She also knows nothing about the Lotus Moon sect, nor does she know about the Obsidian Bridge.

"Yet, at this moment, might you see fit to return the technique to my possession?" Lu Feng asked.

Lin Siyu came back to her senses and said, "Sure thing, tag along with me." After that, she turned around and walked towards her room.

Lu Feng followed, and so did her father.

After a few seconds, they arrived at her room.

She opened the door and waved at the two.

"The book is in here."

Lu Feng nodded and looked at the painting in her room.

"These depictions bear a semblance of skill worth acknowledging. To chance upon such artistry within this relatively modest domain is a novelty indeed. Although it is at the mortal level, pray tell, from whence did you procure these creations?"

"Ah, the paintings? I drew them." Lin Siyu said, taking the Quantum Visualisation Technique out of her drawer.

Lu Feng was dumbfounded when he heard this.

He swears amongst the heavens that she was just a mortal before he gave her the technique, so how did she draw these?

"What about the failed attempts?"

"Failed attempts? You can fail?" Lin Siyu asked with a smile and handed the book back to Lu Feng.

'Is the technique really that hard?'

She had used Auto Use, and everything was perfect at the level she has.

Lu Feng looked at her suspiciously, but he said nothing.

After all, the girl in front of him was an enigma, and she had the ability to use a forbidden technique.

He was interested in her and wished to see her potential.

Therefore, he wants her to join his sect.

With a flick of his hand, the book vanished.

Then he looked at Lin Ziheng.

"I hope you'll send your children to our sect."

Lin Ziheng nodded quickly. "Don't worry, all four of my children will go to the Lotus Moon Sect."

Lu Feng nodded and said nothing else and vanished in front of them.

Lin Siyu was surprised by the quick visit.

"I expected him to stay longer," Lin Siyu commented, shrugging her shoulders.

Her father looked at her with a weird look.

"What's wrong?" Lin Siyu asked, seeing his expression.

"Didn't you hear him say that you're very talented? He wants to make you his disciple. How can you treat him so casually?"

Lin Siyu rolled her eyes.

"Dad, I was dead serious. Plus, aren't you planning to ship us off to the Lotus Moon Sect, no matter what? With my skills, they'd totally scoop me up. So whether I'm on board with being his disciple or not, we'd still end up there, eventually."

"Also, we know nothing about him. What if he has different motives for knowing my talent?"

"That's true, but still." Lin Ziheng couldn't find the words.

His daughter was right, and the only difference was that she might have an easier time getting into the sect.

"Well, whatever. It doesn't matter." He shook his head.

"Anyway, I need to go out. You're in charge while I'm gone. Your mother is in the garden and the rest of your siblings are in the training field. If you wish, take a servant and explore the town."

"Alright, I'll keep an eye out," Lin Siyu said with a smile.

"Good." Her father nodded his head and left the room.
