Chapter 47: RAVEN AND SARAH

Sarah entered the room, her breath labored from her escape. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene: Raven standing over the unconscious thugs, her cloak billowing ominously, and the room itself bathed in an eerie, dim light.

"Who... who are you?" She stammered, her voice filled with a mixture of fear and curiosity.

Raven turned to face Sarah, her hood casting shadows over her eyes. Her expression remained stoic as she replied, "I'm Raven, a member of the Titans. I'm here to help you."

Sarah's eyes darted between Raven and the unconscious thugs on the floor. "Help me? What's going on? Why were they after me?"

Raven's voice softened slightly as she explained, "I had a precognition, a vision of a dark future. It showed me a cataclysmic battle and innocent lives at stake, including yours. These individuals were sent to kidnap you. They mentioned someone in a hood, but they claimed ignorance about demons."

Sarah's fear deepened as she processed the information. "A hooded figure... Demons!?" Her mind went toward the messengers who gave her the wish card, but that's a matter for later. Right now, she needs Raven's help. There might still be someone alive in the LexCorps. She must get her help to save them from those xenomorphs.

"If you are a Titan, then you must help them," She said while huffing to catch a breath, "Those aliens... They killed so many... Those black aliens..." She gasped for air, remembering the gory deaths of her friends and co-workers.

"Please calm down and explain it to me," Raven lifted her hood. Her gaze met Sarah's, and she nodded, her demeanor calm and reassuring. She gestured for Sarah to sit down, offering her a moment to catch her breath.

"Take your time," She said softly. "We need to understand what happened so we can take the appropriate action. Start from the beginning."

Sarah took a few deep breaths to compose herself, her eyes still filled with the horror of what she had witnessed. She began to recount the terrifying events at LexCorps, her voice quivering with emotion.

"We were working the night shift, as usual," She began, her voice trembling. "Everything seemed normal until... until those things showed up."

She shuddered at the memory, her words coming out in a rushed and fearful manner. "They were black, like a nightmare. Creatures with dripping jaws and metallic exoskeletons... they killed everyone, tore them apart. I... I hid, and I don't know how I survived."

'Aliens!" Raven narrowed her eyes as she heard everything, 'This is the worst time possible.'

"Alright," She stood up, "Drink some water. Let me see what I can do."

Raven called Robin, who was on standby near the warehouse with the other Titans, and informed him about the situation.

Robin's voice crackled over the communicator, his tone serious, "Understood, we will make sure to rescue the survivors. Can you handle the Alien situation? I have already sent an SOS to Wonder Woman, just in case."

"Be careful," Raven replied, "I will join you as soon as I can."

After that, she turned to Sarah.

"I will take care of those Aliens," She said with a reassuring tone, "But your life is in danger too. I can't just leave you here like this. Where is your boyfriend? He should be strong enough to keep you safe for the time being."

Sarah looked at her wristwatch, "He should be at his home, right now. It's just three blocks away from here."

Raven nodded in response to Sarah's information. "Good."

With that, she created a portal that would take them to Travis's location. She extended a hand to Sarah, offering assistance.

"Grab my hand," She said, her voice firm yet reassuring. "We'll get to your boyfriend's place quickly and make sure you're safe."

Sarah hesitated for a moment but then reached out and took Raven's hand. She could sense the seriousness of the situation and knew she needed help.

The two of them stepped through the portal, leaving behind the scene of chaos in Sarah's apartment, and emerged near Travis's home.

[Travis's Home]

Meanwhile, Travis and his parents were worried about Sarah since she was way past late. He feared that something bad might have happened to her.

He stood near the entrance of his home, a growing sense of unease gnawing at him as the minutes ticked by. He had been waiting anxiously for Sarah's return, but there was no sign of her. It was unusual for her to be so late, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

As he reached for the doorknob, preparing to head out and search for her, a sudden surge of darkness and shadows caught his attention. He turned to see a portal forming nearby, and through it emerged Raven and Sarah.

His eyes widened in surprise and concern at the sight of Sarah, who appeared disheveled and distraught. "Sarah! What happened? Are you okay?"

Sarah rushed into his arms, her voice trembling as she spoke. "Travis, it was horrible. We were attacked at LexCorps, and these... these creatures, aliens, they killed everyone. I thought I was going to die."

His parents rushed at her. His mother helped her sit on the sofa and patted her back.

Travis's eyes were on the woman in cloak and her eyes were on him.

"You saved her," He extended his hand toward her, "Thank you. You have no idea what I would have done if something were to happen to her."

The visions flashed before Raven's eyes. The future, where Travis defeated the demon, but the hostages were caught in the attack including Sarah and he fell into darkness, allowing her father, Trigon, to take over his mind.

"Oh, believe me, I do have an idea of what you would have done," She turned around to the portal, "Keep her safe." She stepped into the portal and disappeared.

Travis walked over to Sarah. She was trembling in fear, "Don't worry. I am here with you." He held her close, offering her the comfort and reassurance she desperately needed. His parents remained by their side, providing support and a sense of security.

As they held each other, Sarah's trembling gradually subsided, and she felt the warmth of Travis's embrace. It was a stark contrast to the horrors she had experienced at LexCorps, and it gave her a sense of safety she hadn't felt in hours.

"How do you deal with it? This feeling... So many died in front of my eyes..." Sarah asked Travis.

The nightmares, the deaths, and the destruction, he faced in his past life due to the war between the Heroes and the villains flashed before his eyes. The faces of his friends who died in the war appeared before his eyes. All For One won the war... He remembers that fateful day vividly when he was the last standing hero facing that abomination.

Travis held Sarah close, his voice soft and comforting. "I know it's overwhelming, Sarah. Seeing something like that is... It's a nightmare. But you're safe now, and we'll get through this together."

He paused for a moment, thinking about her question. It wasn't easy for him to find the right words, but he knew he had to offer some guidance.

"Dealing with it... It's not something you just get over," Travis admitted. "But you talk about it, you lean on the people who care about you. You let yourself feel the pain and the fear, but you don't let it control you. And most importantly, you remember those who didn't make it. You remember them by living your life to the fullest, by not taking a single moment for granted."

He paused, his gaze meeting hers with sincerity. "We can't change the past, but we can shape the future. And right now, we're safe. We're together. And we'll get through this, one step at a time."

His parents nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with concern and love for their son and his girlfriend. It was a moment of unity and strength in the face of adversity.

"We are here for you, Sarah," His mom grabbed her shoulder.

The warmth and support of Travis and his family began to ease some of the weight on Sarah's shoulders. She took a deep breath, her trembling starting to subside further.

"Thank you," she said, her voice still shaky but with a hint of gratitude. "I don't know what I would have done without you, without all of you."

Travis's father offered a reassuring smile. "You're part of this family now, Sarah. So, don't ever think you are alone."
