Chapter 43: Who gave you those marks?

I felt my heart squeeze.

I had assumed that I had dreamed the entire experience, that maybe I hallucinated Rafael flogging me with the whip since when I had found myself in Nocturna there were no signs of injury on my back.

It was as smooth as ever.

But for Al to be right in front of me, confronting me on who hit me meant that it had all been real.

Flashes of Rafael raising the whip against my back came through me and I bit my lip at the memories.

"I asked you a question Angel." Al reinforced looking not so pleased. "Who gave you them?"

I shook my head. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

I could easily deny it right?

My back was free if scars and he wouldn't have any proof that I had been beaten.

How I had been badly whipped was still a massive puzzle to even me.

It made no sense to even me on how I had been brutalized and how it had all of a sudden healed on its own without a trace.
