Chapter 37: Family Reunion (3)

"I refuse," Elsa declared firmly, her gaze unwavering. "I don't know why, but I just can't accept this. It feels like an intrusion into our lives."

Arthur, sharing his daughter's sentiments, added, "Indeed, I second Elsa's feelings. This... arrangement just doesn't sit right with me".

'In fact I don't accept it because how come, when I try to marry Celestina, I need to received a rage from her father and her maniac brother that give me a beat up everytime we met. not to mention I need to defeat a hell mode celestina in a nearly death fight, and this brat, Doesn't even do anything and he get a beautiful fiance, without any shed and tears? That's won't do. I want this brat to suffer a little for his actions'. Arthur felt Depressed he promissed if this is a novel story, he will beat up the Author, makes him the Stongest hero, Bah...this is the Stongest clown. (Author: "Cough cough, in my defense It's for the sake of the story")

Elsa and Diaz exchanged glances, a mixture of surprise and concern in their eyes. It was clear that the sudden revelation about the engagement had stirred up complex emotions within their family.

"But why?" Celestina finally asked, searching for an understanding of their perspectives.

"This engagement is already official, not only here but also in the Dragon Kingdom. Prince Hans made that announcement so openly, says she will married a most handsome man in the continent and it's causing a stir there too. You know Princess Isabela is not just renowned in the Dragon Kingdom; she's considered the most beautiful woman in the world, as beautiful as me of course" Celestina boast.

Elsa huffed in frustration, her brows furrowing. "That's precisely the problem. It feels like everything is happening too quickly, too conveniently. It's like someone is pulling strings behind the scenes, and we're just being swept along with it."

Arthur nodded in agreement. "I couldn't have said it better, Elsa. It's as if we're being maneuverer into this situation without our consent or even knowledge."

Diaz contemplated their words, his thoughts racing. While he was committed to the engagement, he couldn't ignore the genuine concerns voiced by his sister and father. The engagement seemed to have materialized almost out of thin air, and the timing did raise questions.

Celestina spoke gently, addressing her family's worries. "I understand your apprehension, but sometimes, life presents us with unexpected opportunities and challenges. This engagement might be one of those moments. We should consider the potential benefits it could bring to our family and the Kingdom, and Diaz you fiancé will be your junior in the academy".

Elsa, who was the student council president and highly involved in academy affairs, was taken aback by the revelation. "Wait, she's going to be our freshman? How did I miss this?" She frowned, realizing that not being aware of such a crucial detail about Diaz's fiancée was a significant oversight on her part.

Diaz pondered over his family's concerns, recognizing the validity of their worries. He was about to respond when an idea struck him.

"How about this," Diaz suggested. "Since Princess Isabela is going to Luminare Academy this year, we'll have the opportunity to meet her there and get to know her better. It will give us a chance to assess the situation and understand her perspective."

Celestina nodded in agreement with the suggestion. "That's a fair proposal, Diaz. Meeting her in a neutral environment like the academy might help us all get a clearer picture of the situation."

Diaz smiled, feeling relieved that his family was open to exploring this new development. "Exactly. It also gives us time to make the necessary arrangements and preparations for our meeting with Princess Isabela." Well that's not bad idea, but I need to change something regarding my plan, Diaz smirk.

As the family discussed the upcoming events and potential challenges, it became clear that they would have to navigate this new chapter together. Diaz's engagement to Princess Isabela was bound to bring about changes, and their unity and adaptability would be key to addressing any challenges that lay ahead.

The family's conversation took an unexpected turn as Arthur explained his decision.

"Diaz, before you go to the academy, you come with me to meet your grandfather," Celestina said.

But Arthur interjected, "That's not needed."

Celestina was clearly surprised. "Why not?"

"I've already rejected the Invitation," Arthur explained.

Celestina couldn't believe her ears. "What? How dare you, Arthur!"

"Wait, let me explain," Arthur began. "Our son has just returned home, and I've received news about some conflict between Veridora and Tual Kingdom. It would be strange if Diaz were to disappear again."

Celestina's curiosity grew. "And my father agreed to this?"

"No," Arthur replied, "he promised he would burn me when he met me. But when the day came..." Arthur paused, looking at Celestina.

"When the day comes?" Celestina inquired cautiously.

Arthur sighed and continued, "I Said to him that you would fight with him."

"What? You bastard, you sold me out!" Celestina exclaimed.

"Wait, Celestina, hear me out. I've been beaten up by you, and my injuries have been getting worse day by day. If I were to fight with your father, I would surely die."

Celestina was still not pleased. "That's not the problem in the first place!"

The family found themselves in a rather amusing predicament, caught between Celestina's father and Arthur's attempt to avoid a painful encounter.

Diaz, with a sly grin on his face, couldn't resist pouring a little more salt into the already simmering situation. He said, "Well, Dad does have a point, Mom. I mean, grandpa did promise to burn him. It's probably safer this way."

Celestina's eyes flashed with fury as she turned her gaze to her son. "You think this is good, Diaz?"

Diaz, realizing he might have gone a step too far, held up his hands in surrender. "sure Mom."

Diaz, with a mischievous glint in his eye, leaned closer to his mother and whispered loudly enough for Arthur to hear, "Mom, Dad might need some extra protection from Grandpa's fiery wrath. Do you think we should get him a fire extinguisher as a gift?"

Celestina couldn't help but stifle a laugh, covering her mouth with her hand. "Diaz, that's a brilliant idea! And we should get him a suit made of asbestos, just to be safe."

Arthur, realizing he was being thoroughly ganged up on, couldn't help but shake his head in amusement. "Alright, alright, you two win. I get it; I'm in for a scorching reception."

The family shared a hearty laugh, their playful banter lightening the mood as they prepared for their visit to Celestina's fiery father.

"Hey, Diaz, I want a granddaughter as soon as possible, okay? We have Helena, and you should try to find more daughters-in-law, alright? In the Dragon Tribe, polygamy is a common thing. Even the Dragon Emperor, your grandfather, has more than a thousand concubines, and 20% of them are already married to other men."

Hearing that, Diaz said confidently, "Not to worry, Mom. I will try to continue this legacy."

Arthur interrupted, "Why are you being so overbearing? If it's a legacy, I could do…

"What are you saying, Arthur?" Before Arthur could finish his sentence, the surrounding aura turned dark.

"Legacy,..dragon tribe, Poli.."

"No, you can't, Arthur!" Celestina's rage was palpable.

Arthur, shocked, and sign inwardly 'What about this treatment? If our son can, then why can't I? You talked about the Dragon Tribe's history of polygamy so seriously, yet you won't let me have multiple wives.'
