Chapter 3: Warwick Mountain

As they went northeast there are at least three clans along the way, but these clans are allies of Bolo clan.

After three long and hard hours of descending Bolo Mountain, Jon Bane and Rica were about to cross the boundary to the adjacent mountain when they heard a yell. "Hey! senior, where are you going, and who is that girl standing next to you?"

Jon Bane addressed him. "Elder Chou asked me to deliver a herb to Gadon City, and this girl beside me is his granddaughter."

Hearing this, the guy who was seated on the branch of a tree smirked to himself. He thought that if Elder Chou's granddaughter was to become his wife, then their offspring would be next in line as the elder of their clan. He instantly jumped down from the tree and went near them. Holding Rica's hand, he introduced himself. "My lady, would you like to train with me? By the way, my name is Giovan, and you are?"

Rica immediately felt shy and went mute for a brief moment. "I-I am Rica Chou. I uh umm maybe some o-other t-time because I-uh have to a-ask my p-parents first." She felt stupid as she heard herself respond to the young man.

Giovan kissed the back of Rica's palm, ignoring her stuttered response. "Alright, then, I'll always be here waiting for you."

At that point, Jon Bane already knew that Giovan was plotting a plan for Rica. "Okay, Giovan, we really need to go now; you can court her and have her babies when she comes back."

It seems like his senior is already sensing his ploy; Giovan's cheeks turned a deep red. He cleared his throat and let go of Rica's hand. "It's already late, and I still need to continue my patrol northward of this mountain." And with that, Giovan left the two of them.

The two resumed their journey to the first mountain. Jon Bane observed his companion's melancholy atmosphere as they walked. "Hey, bitch! Are you exhausted yet?"

Rica replied casually, "I'm barren."

"What do you mean you're barren? I thought your name was Rica? Wait, don't tell me you're a shemale?" Jon Bane asked, perplexed.

Rica rolled her eyes at him. "What I meant is that I can't have a child. That's the fukusayo of my tokugi." She explained her miserable situation to him.

"So basically you're upset because you can not procreate with Giovan?" Learning about Rica's situation, Jon Bane used this to tease her. However, since Rica was not in the mood, she ignored Jon Bane's mocking statement and walked faster than him.

After a few minutes of being quiet, Rica finally broke the silence. "I need to find my naosu; that's the only way."

Hearing this, Jon Bane remembered that one of the allied clans of Bolo is the Fatidica clan on their self-named mountain. Even though their clan is involved in martial arts, they are well known as the clan of seers. Hundreds of people from the cities are taking the initiative to meet them. Since they are heading northeast, they will be able to meet those seers sooner or later in their journey.

Jon Bane abruptly switched the subject. "Hey, Rica, do you know which mountain we're on right now?"

Rica was still not her typical self, but she still managed to respond. "Uh, I actually have a map, so let us look at it first."

Rica took out the map and examined it. They are at Warwick Mountain, according to the map. Suddenly , three spearmen emerged from the bushes, aiming their spears at Jon Bane and Rica's faces.

One of the spearmen questioned them suspiciously. "What brings you to our territory, and to which clan do you belong?"

Jon Bane appeared to be in control of the situation and replied calmly. "We came from the Bolo Clan; we are allied clans, so those spiky dangerous spears have no need to shoot at us."

The three spearmen did not lower their spears and are still unsure whether to trust the two strangers in front of them.

"If what you're saying is true, show us proof that you truly belong to the Bolo Clan; otherwise, we'll have to consider you intruders," one of them remarked.

When she heard their ultimatum, Rica reached into her bag and pulled out a blue gemstone, which she displayed to the three guys. The three dropped their spears, taken aback by what they saw in front of them. They understood what the lady was carrying in her hands was an extremely precious gemstone that can only be found in the Bolo Mountain and that only the clan leaders are permitted to bring it with them. "Well, let me look at it first to see if it's genuine." One of them said.

Knowing that the gemstone would remain in its form if it was in the hands of a Bolo Clan member, Rica threw it at one of the spearmen. The one who caught the gemstone looked at his hand as the shining blue jewel earlier turned into an ordinary rock.

"It really is the gemstone of the Bolo Clan. Finally, I've had the chance to get my hands on the most precious gem of the Bolo Clan. "This feels so surreal", one of them excitedly said.

"Give it back now, because you know, every second it is in your hand will be an hour equivalent for it to return to its original form." Rica grabbed the rock from the man's hands and put it back inside her bag.

The three spearmen let them enter their territory and escorted them to the main citadel of their clan. It took them almost two hours of walking to arrive at the main citadel of the Warwick clan. The two were brought to Elder Lun, the elder of the clan. They gave them some food while Rica was telling them the purpose and details of their journey.
