Chapter 18: CHAPTER 18
The system's love call rang in Shen Tian's ear at the crack of dawn.
"I'm up!", Shen Tian lazily responded and the system turned off the alarm.
He then sluggishly pulled himself up and shuffled to the bathroom to wash his face.
After washing up, he proceeded to the kitchen and prepared breakfast. For today's breakfast, he opted to cook instant noodles with chicken.
As the dish was in its final boil, Shen Tian went to knock on Shao Haoran's door.
"Breakfast!"
He didn't care to listen as to whether or not Shao Haoran woke up and went back to his cooking.
Just as he was done cooking the dish, Shao Haoran came out of his room together with Baobao.
"I'll set the table.", Shen Haoran immediately came to the cupboard to get the plates and utensils.
The meal passed in silence, with the two men still feeling a bit sleepy since it was indeed a bit too early.
"So how do you plan to plough this field?", Shao Haoran asked while holding a hoe in his right hand. Both men were looking at the designated farm area.
"We'll be splitting this area into two. One side will be for planting rice and the other side will be for potatoes.
Shao Haoran already saw that there were two types of seedlings in the shed. He was quite surprised at the vitality of the seedlings and a sense of excitement came over him as soon as he realized that the two seedlings where rice and potatoes. As long as the seedlings were planted successfully, there will be a stable supply of edible food in the future. However, remembering that the place was Shen Tian's safe zone, he composed himself and stopped thinking about unnecessary thoughts.
Shen Tian further explained how he wanted to divide the land to Shao Haoran. They discussed how they'll divide the work and Shao Haoran also provided suggestions.
"Now that we've decided how to do this, let's go!"
Shen Tian hyped himself up full of spirits as they started working on the farm.
A few hours later, Shen Tian and Shao Haoran stopped their work and went underneath the tree to rest. Shao Haoran broke a sweat, but he didn't seem to look tired. Maybe it's because of the superpowered human physique but this level of work seemed to be fine for him.
On the other hand, it was Shen Tian who looked like he was going to die. He was panting hard, his arms and feet feel like heavy lead, and his eyes were seeing black dots.
"Will we be able to finish ploughing and planting everything within the next three days??", Shen Tian lamented.
"Do you need to plough and plant the seedlings within the next three days?"
'Oh, yeah, what would happen if I fail to complete the task within the time limit?', hearing Shao Haoran's question, Shen Tian turned to the system for clarification.

Shen Tian wanted to cry even more upon seeing that response.
"It seems that if we don't plough the land and plant the seedlings within the next three days, we'll end up losing the farm and the seedlings."
Although Shao Haoran doesn't know how Shen Tian will lose such a big farm, he was more concerned about the seedlings. He panicked inwardly. If the seedlings are not planted as Shen Tian said, then his hopes of possibly eating hot rice and potato dishes in the future will be dashed. He can't allow that!
Shen Haoran looked at the field again and decided, "Leave this to me!"
He then proceeded to stand at the edge of the farm and took a stance. Tiny purple bolts of lightning swirled around his fists.
"I suggest you close your eyes, Shen Tian. This could be blinding."
"What are you doing-?!"
A flash of light burst in front of Shen Tian and he involuntarily closed his eyes. The light flashes didn't stop so Shen Tian had no choice but to close his eyes tightly. Otherwise, he might go blind! Not only that, he also had to cover his ears due to the loud impact of something hitting something solid.
After a few minutes and a couple of loud bangs, Shen Tian no longer heard the loud noise.
"You can open your eyes now."
Shen Tian slowly opened his eyes to see what the heck Shao Haoran did. What he saw in front of him made him drop his jaw wide.
The farm, which they worked on a little earlier, now looks like a proper rice paddy without the water on the right and a plant bed on the left.
"Shao Haoran!"
Shen Tian shouted loudly.
As Shao Haoran didn't expect Shen Tian to shout, he flinched a bit and wondered if he did something wrong.
Shen Tian stomped closer to Shen Haoran. He then proceeded to grab him by the arm and shook him hard.
"If you were able to do this, you should have told me earlier!!!"
