Chapter 1: fantasma

I could barely sit up straight, nor could i Stand. I felt so numb, my head spinning, causing it to ache more. I could feel the cold concrete floor I was lying on. I looked around; it was small and seemed to be lower than the rest of the house ,so I assumed it was a basement. On top, I could see a window of light, not that I could reach it. "Where am I, and how did I get here?" I asked myself as I tried to remember.

It was Monday morning, the worst day of everyone's week. But lucky me, I didn't have to go school. Being 21 really paid off sometimes. I was done with high school and just waiting for a miracle to kick in and say,

"Hey Tabby, today's your lucky day because your dad had a promotion at his deadbeat job, and you can finally afford college."

I lived alone, well, with my dad, but he was always out due to work stuff. Even if it wasn't much, he managed to provide for the both of us.

He left three days ago, and I had been alone as always. I was alone, watching Netflix and stuffing my face with popcorn when I heard a knock on the door. -it was probably my neighbor Mrs Peterson, I went to answer it.She probably wants to ask me something that doesn't even make sense again; "ohh Tabby, can you water my cat"

"ohh Tabby please Mr sniffles said he wants to have a ball dance and I can't pick out my outfit"

I guess being as old as she is ,her cats are unexpectedly expected.

As soon as I opened the door, everything went black.

I tried to shake off the memory, but it only left me more confused and scared. My mind was racing, trying to piece together what had happened. Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching. Panic surged through my veins as I realized I wasn't alone in this basement.

The door creaked open, revealing a tall figure standing in the doorway. It was a man, wearing a mask that concealed his face. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as he slowly walked towards me. I tried to move, to scream, but my body felt heavy and unresponsive.

The man bent down, his eyes piercing through the darkness. "Well, well, well, look who finally woke up," he sneered. His voice sent shivers down my spine, and I knew I was in danger.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" I managed to stutter, my voice trembling.

He chuckled, a sinister sound that echoed in the small room. "Oh, my dear Tabby, you'll find out soon enough," he replied, his voice dripping with malice. "But for now, let's play a little game."

He produced a small knife from his pocket and began to trace it along my arm, leaving a trail of blood in its wake. The pain was excruciating, but I couldn't make a sound. Fear paralyzed me, and I could only watch as he continued his torment.

That's enough Rico, leave the poor girl alone," another man's voice came in my ear. The basement was connected to a narrow corridor, leading to a staircase. That's where the other man was standing, leaning on the side of the door.

"Sorry about him, Ms. Blu," he said while walking towards us. "My name is William, but you can call me Will," he continued while helping me up.

"Where am I and who are you?" I asked, my voice trembling with fear.

"Relax, Tabby, we're on your side," he said with a smile. He looked British-American, and you wouldn't get what he said if you didn't pay much attention.

"What are you going to do to me?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.

But before he could answer, another man came in. He wasn't dressed casually like the so-called Will or the other guy Rico. He was dressed formally in a blue suit, matching tie, and his hair gelled back. They both went to him and started talking in a foreign language, occasionally turning to look at me. When the man in the blue suit left with Rico, Will walked towards me.

"Come on," he said, gesturing for me to follow him.

As we walked through the narrow corridor, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The dimly lit staircase seemed to go on forever, leading us further away from the basement and deeper into I don't know where.

"Will, where are you taking me?"
