Chapter 8: Cursed Phantom Mantra
At a small house in the woods there is a massive pile of horned rabbit corpses. 20 to be exact, with about 1/3 of them containing the small red crystal. Every horned rabbit kill gave a repeatable achievement point reward of 5. Quite generous for this easy of a kill to be honest.
Overall Byron currently has 135 achievement points. This presents the tempting option of 2 gacha spins, but that is definitely not what she needs right now. Current goal being a cultivation technique which synergizes with the Yin Body Cultivation technique.
Speaking of... she hasn't checked how much that would cost.

As the system screen opened, she selected shop and opened the search bar. Searching for Qi cultivation techniques which work well with Her body cultivation method. She sorted out the expensive ones.

'HOLY WOW THATS EXPENSIVE.... I don't even have 1/10th of the amount needed for any of these.... possibly I could get one of these later on? But this does mean the technique I got for body cultivation is really valuable...' with a extremely shocked expression she returns to the less expensive techniques
The cheapest one sounded good but its probably as cheap as it is for a reason. At the current moment the Cursed Phantom mantra seemed the best because it's condition for faster progress was more achievable and less gross then bathing in blood or whatever.
Byron had a pile of 21 monster crystals already... albeit not powerful ones but still. If she keeps getting around 20 horned rabbit kills and crystals a day she could get the cultivation technique relatively quickly.
One issue is that she will have to trek out to farther areas and search for more rabbits because if she keeps killing all of them in one area they will no longer come by out of fear. Maybe she could search for other monster types? There was a part of the forest that looked more ominous then the others after all.
The opposite side of the field had a forest with a new type of tree. Possibly there could be more powerful animals as its a different habitat? This was only speculation though and the trip would take around 5-6 hours on foot.
The sun is setting now, and Byron makes her way out to the patches of yin flowers to cultivate her body. Letting the whirlwind of Yin energy force its way through her getting caught in her muscles. Compacting and reinforcing them.
She can feel something coming, right on the edge. She knows this feeling, a breakthrough is coming. Stealth training with the light mirage technique really payed off this time. Progress may have been good before but actual experience was much better.
The feeling cold feeling building all throughout her body, right on the edge ready to tip over. With one more punch she finally tips over that edge.
*BOOM* a decently loud noise comes from Byron's body like every other breakthrough.

Seeing how her breakthrough gave her 2 free stat points like the other 2 muscle refinement breakthroughs, she put both points into luck.... considering another stat but that probably won't help enough in the long run.
