Chapter 2: Dorothy Gardner

Before the encounter between the Witch and Becky, on the same previous night.

Far across from Oztown, there's a little abandoned house that had suffered from the hands of time. There's a Cauldron that has been left alone for over 120 years. It started to crack.

Crack open to reveal a large amount of water pouring out with a naked body of a young woman. The glowing green water turns clear.

Long brown hair. B-cup. Slender body. When she opens her eyes, they're an emerald colour. She's around the age of 16 herself.

She coughs out water. Barely got up, from what seem to be previous injuries are healing up rapidly, then have some shards of wood been pushed out. She's cracking her neck. She continues to upchuck more water but a small blob of mucus then evaporates.

"Where... am I?" She spoke with a southern accent.

Looking around to see a light shine behind her. Her vision was slightly blurry till she saw a woman obscuring her face with a traditional Witch's hat, and a business suit. Next to her is an old school lantern with a tea set. The windows behind her are covered up.

"Good evening." the Witch spoke with an ominous but sophisticated tone.

"What the...?!" She trips back then back crawls to a wall. "Who are you?!" She asked loudly.

The teacup levitates and goes up to the Witch. She drinks. "Come have a seat, Dorothy."

This shocked Dorothy as she never told her name to the Witch. "How do you know my name? I swear we have never met before!"

"Oh we have, Dorothy." The Witch continues to be ominous as she drinks tea. The teapot pours tea into another cup. "Come have a seat." The lantern light has flying orbs flying around another chair.

Dorothy observes herself then looks up. "May I have some clothes first? Please?"

"Of course!" The Witch pulls out a suitcase then a white shirt with blue overalls, but couldn't pick out what kind shoes though. "Do you want to wear slippers?" She suggests but Dorothy doesn't look amused. "Boots it is!" Passed her the boots.

"May I have some privacy?"

The Witch made the broken boards from the floor to make a makeshift changing room.

After a short while, Dorothy came out of the changing room with the boards returning to its original place.

Hesitant to sit across the Witch, as the tea is coming closer to her.

"It's not poison, if you're wondering." The Witch confirms.

Dorothy took a drink. She seems to like tea. "Quite tasty." Said with an uneasy feeling.

"It is!" The Witch smiled as she gave out a cackle. "I would introduce myself, but you already know who I am."

"I do?" Dorothy looked around the building. "Are you gonna devour me, or kill me?"

"Heavens, no!" The Witch placed the hat down to reveal herself. She has long black straight hair with glasses. "I have no intention of killing you. I don't see the benefits of it, actually."

Dorothy is looking shocked and realizes who she's talking to. "Mrs. Green?"

"Yes!" She leaps onto the table and spins around. "The one and only, Wicked Witch of the West. Almira Green! At your service." She bows then leaps down with the chair levitating to catch her as she sits right back down.

"Wicked Witch of the West?" Dorothy is uneasy about her unusual introduction. "And aren't you..."

"Oh, no. I'm not that frail, old lady you knew 120 years ago." Almira smiled.

"Beg your pardon." Dorothy leans forward. "120 years ago? Care to clarify that?"

Almira opens up the window shades with a flick of her Wand.

Dorothy looked out to see the town of Oztown. Amazed by the sight. "What the... where did this town come from?"

"It happens while you're sleeping." Almira drinks her tea.

Dorothy stumbled back but tripped from the chair leg. "120... years...?" Turning to Almira who's staring down at her. "Are you... lying or some kind of black magic?"

"Oh no." Almira waves it off. "It's no black magic, but I do tend to use it here and there, but only illusions or self-defense." She walked up to Dorothy to help her up. "I was surprised when I woke up too. Or reborn as a Witch."

"Reborn as a Witch?" Dorothy questions Almira's wording.

"That's correct!" Almira sat down with Dorothy, continuing to drink their tea after being poured. "From this day forward, you are a Witch."

"Oh my God." Dorothy is shocked by the revelation.

"You still believe in him, if you. But there's no lie in the end that we're Witches, and I'm your Mentor and you're the Apprentice." Almira seemed over happy about this.

Dorothy is looking around the environment. "Question, was this my home? Because the last time I saw it was..."

§

Memories of her previous life back at 1900, with her packing up her stuff till a soft rumbling was heard till it became louder and shaking rapidly.

She looked around then saw a tornado came out of nowhere, from anger to instant fear, she grabbed her stuff but it came up quickly.

Start flying around with pieces of floorboard hitting her, then being hit by anything that comes by. Barely staying conscious as she's been forced out of the tornado then starts falling down. To her last memory, she fell into glowing green water and was encased inside the Cauldron.

§

Dorothy drops her tea, but it is stopped by Almira. It came back up. "I was caught up in the storm." She held herself while leaning down on the table.

"That was my bad." Almira said to her. "I caused that storm, and encasing you inside of the Cauldron was my way of apologizing to you."

Dorothy stares at Almira. "You caused that storm?"

"I was in a bad mood. An old colleague of mine, Mary, had come to town in order to do some of her Witchcraft." Almira drinks her tea, but Dorothy slaps the teacup out of her hand.

"If you were in a bad mood, then why kill my family?" Dorothy stood up as her eyes started to glow.

Almira doesn't seem to be bothered by Dorothy as she fixes up her cup and pour herself another cup of tea. "Look kid." She drinks her tea but it's boiling, reacting to Dorothy's rage towards her as the rest of the place is starting to decay. "If you're planning on using your magic against me, well feel free but you won't be able to navigate your way in the new world. For over 120 years, everything has changed for you since 1900. Well actually, 123 years but same difference. But..." Almira manipulates the environment to keep Dorothy trapped, "You need me to help you out here. Because there's different kinds of dangers that you wish mother nature could take off." Almira lets Dorothy go after her rage and powers are slightly going down.

"What kind of dangers?" Dorothy asked but keeping her guard up.

"Let's go for a walk." Almira stood up. She changed from her business suit to a simple shirt, jeans and slippers. She then made her hair go shorter. "Let's head off to see Oztown!"

§

Both Almira and Dorothy are walking through the streets of Oztown.

"Wow! It's like the sun never left." Dorothy is amazed by the street lights.

Almira chuckled. "Yeah, you gotta get used to that. But if you think small town street lights are impressive, you gotta see a city light show, because it will blow you out of this world." Almira waves her arm like she's expecting something but no.

They walk by a strange looking girl wearing usual clothing, and to Dorothy, she thought she saw a beast.

"Nothing to be afraid of. Just walk by." Almira said to her.

They're walking by her when she's leaving some kind of letter on the windshield of a muscle car.

Dorothy mustered the courage to walk up to her. "Um, hello there."

The girl looked up to her with an embarrassed look. "It's not what it looks like. I just owe these lovely people some money. That's all civilians." She seemed about to leave, but Dorothy was curious about something.

"And what's with the clothes? Seems odd. And what's with the animal hide, and how could you walk with those?" Dorothy is curious while Almira is freaking out.

She pulls Dorothy back. "Sorry for my niece, questioning your actions and appearance. I'm sure you're a wonderful Magical Girl. It's that she rarely take anything seriously when it comes to Magical Girls, or fashion." Trying to convince the Magical Girl from suspicion.

The Magical Girl is quite surprised but grins. "It's alright. Since she asked, I may answer. I am a Magical Girl, or in training at least. And as for my animalistic look, it's part of the uniform. And as I can walk with these feet, it's like walking with regular feet. So may I ask your name, civilian? Because you're new here, and you're looking at the next Pink Magical Girl: The Red Wolf."

Dorothy is looking at her outfit. "A wolf that's red? I guess that makes sense since they're usually covered in blood. All I'll say is that it's a unique look." Dorothy is trying not to offend her due to being from a different time. "As for the name. Name's..."

"Sorry, civilian. I got to see how the criminals are doing, but have a good evening!" She leaps away as Dorothy was about to extend her hand.

"She's very odd to say." Dorothy is confused about the whole situation.

Almira pulled her in. "Yeah, I'll explain it to you when we reach my place."

They continue to walk around Oztown as Dorothy continues to see new buildings.

She stops at a gas station, questioning it to herself. "What is this meant to be? A general store?"

"Pretty much." Almira quickly answered.

They next stop at the hospital clinic.

"I kind of thought that the medicine building would be a bit bigger in this time period." Dorothy questions the two story tall building unlike the Emerald Complex.

"Yeah, well if you're living in a small town, you don't tend to get any luxury of a city hospital. Those are much bigger." Almira answered with a distraught tone. "It's a glorified pharmacy store."

"How much medicine has advanced?" Dorothy asked.

"So much further than a common cold. Nowadays you can get something for it for $20." Almira replied.

"$20! That's so much!" Dorothy is shocked. "You must be one of those rich folk down south!" Dorothy asked.

"Oh right. Forgot money works so differently back then. Well, $20 is pretty cheap for the modern economy." Almira starts walking while Dorothy follows.

As they're walking across Oztown with the Magical Girl leaping away in the background, they pass a wide school building.

"What is this building used for?" Dorothy asked.

"Oh yeah, you rarely go to school. This is what schools are like now. Not in those Church style schools." Almira asked.

"There must be a lot of people living here in order to attend school." Dorothy seemed interested in the idea. "Do you think I'll be too old for school?" They continue to walk.

"Not really. Just that you'll be way behind, even a second grader is much smarter than the past system." Almira chuckled. "Even I was blown away by such an equation. But since it's summertime, you don't have to worry about school for a good three months."

"Ah, so much to do during the summer. Get the animals fed, and farm work can keep you happily entertained for those months." Dorothy smiled.

"Well kids are different here." Almira walks Dorothy down a street then sees her house. A standard house with white colouring outside. "Welcome to my home!"

She entered the house, and to Dorothy amazement that Almira's house inside is like a sort of what rich folk would have in her time period.

"Have you been a nobility this whole time?" Dorothy quickly asked.

"What?! No!" Almira replied with a grossed out tone. "And why would I want to be a rich asshole? That would make me a quick target. Besides, I like living in this hick town and enjoy a quiet life. Even when that Magical Girl is in town, just making herself look like a complete jackass in the process." Almira is sitting on her couch.

"Well we're home now, but what is a Magical Girl?" Dorothy walks into the living room but she sees her completely knocked out as she's sleeping on the couch.

Dorothy walked up and took the glasses off then placed them on the coffee table. She looked around the place with an amazed look.

Walking up to what seemed to be a study room but it's much dirtier than expected. "Who lives like this?!" She thinks to herself. She starts picking up random books, then opens up a Latin book with a shotgun image with a word said Pyrobolum. "Looks like the shotgun my papa used to own, and let me take a few shots of the cans." Dorothy remembers it then remembered the recoil. "Hurts like hell."

She continued to look around, then decided to read a couple of books of history throughout the night, alongside with a few comics, manga, and some dictionary words if she didn't understand it.

As the dawn broke, Almira woke up. She starts stretching out then woozily walks to the kitchen then sees Dorothy is looking at the stove looking baffled at it, then looking under to see an oven. Then the microwave on the top. Confused by the numbers, and the side buttons for different options.

"Confused on how to work them?" She asked Dorothy as she's been giving it a stare with bags under her eyes. "I'll make you breakfast, but don't take it too hard." Almira helps Dorothy to her bed while she continues to look at while being dragged away. "I had a hard time myself. I once burned down one of my old homes with a stove."

Dorothy pulls herself out of Almira's room, but Almira tries to pull her back in. Dorothy held onto the side. "I'll figure you out, somehow!"

"Give it time!" Almira managed to pull her in.

Laying down in bed, Almira is looking around. Noticed her books had been moved. "Entertain yourself with my books?"

"Mostly. But I did have a hard time understanding some stuff. But I can adjust for a bit, but I do enjoy those pictures." Dorothy points at the comics and manga.

Almira picked out some. She chuckled. "Well we're not the comic book hero: General USA. Who was frozen and immediately understood everything all at once. But I'll take you sensitivity training, since Witches always make up the background that you were all born orphans then been adopted to the wrong kind of parents."

"That might be a good idea. I had read the part about Mr. King and Mrs. Parks. So I had to learn to keep my mouth shut." Dorothy looks up and then sees her Wand. A traditional looking Wand with gemstones circling around the top handle.

"I've met your uncle before." Almira looked disapproved. "Anyways, time to make your breakfast."

She leaves to the kitchen. She quickly poured some cat food in a bowl next to the door with milk next to it. Grab some frozen breakfast sandwiches then warm them up as she pours some cereal. Grab some orange juice. A loud gunshot noise had been heard from the bedroom.

Almira rushed into it, but luckily it was only the Wand that had been destroyed but Dorothy is feeling the pain in her arm from the recoil. Dorothy was sent through the bed, thus breaking it from the middle.

"What the hell happened?!" She asked her.

Dorothy sitting up then rolling the shoulder. "I just remembered a word from one of your books, and a big flash came up and shot down into the bed."

"What word was it?!" Almira pulls her up and holds her then pulls the Wand away.

"Pyrobolum?"

"Oh..." Almira looked down. "Thankfully, we live in a hick town. Shotgun sounds are quite normal for hunters." She walked back to the kitchen as Dorothy was walking back to the living room and sat down at the table.

Placing her breakfast in front of her. "What was that circle in front?" Dorothy questioned.

"A Glyph. It's quite normal for Witches, mostly to reborn Witches. In time, the Glyphs disappear after it feels like you have mastered the spell." Almira said as she's eating her cereal.

"Sorry about breaking your Wand." Dorothy looks at the Wand.

"Don't worry." Almira smiled. "I got spares." She snapped her finger then another Wand, same design as the previous, came from her study room. "See?"

"If I'm a Witch, do I get a Wand?" Dorothy bites down a breakfast sandwich. "Goodness me! What is this?!" She completely forgot about the Wand.

"It's a breakfast sandwich. Should try the fast food place, or a cafe for one. They're much better than these frozen treats." Almira smiled as she watched Dorothy eat the sandwich and cereal rapidly.

Door knocks.

"Must be the neighbors, asking about the noise. I'll handle this." Almira got up.

Walking up to the front door then opens it up to reveal Officer Harwood. "Dave!"

"Hey, Mira." He looks around. "I got a complaint about a noise around here, so do you know anything about it?"

"Yeah! My niece, who's visiting for the summer, had accidentally used the shotgun down in the basement." Almira is playing around with Dave Harwood. 6'3". Round build. Moustache, no sideburns or goatee. Brown eyes. Short tail with a ponytail.

"Ah! So it must be the niece you've been talking about for a couple of months, right?" He asked.

"That's the one, Officer." She smiled.

"Dorothy... Gardner, am I correct?" He asked about the name.

"Correct. My sister Glinda has been trying to get her away from Charley's side of the family, more specifically, Uncle Henry. Plus, taking her for sensitivity training."

"Ah, you've been asking for that one. I believe one of the teachers will be holding one in a couple of weeks." Dave smiled. "Small towns. Such a pain when things don't go the way you want."

"I know that feeling. And how's your daughter?"

Dave gives out a frustrated groan. "My ex-wife is picking her up after school for her camping trip."

"Ooo!" She seems to understand the situation.

"Yeah." Dave nods. "Anyways, I got to meet up with Wolfe. I got tickets for him." He walked away. "Have a good day, Mira."

"You too, Dave!"

Shut the door, then she gives out a sad sign. "Guess we're gonna hear their argument today." She walked back to the living room to see Dorothy had eaten both hers and Almira's breakfast. "Can't blame her." She chuckled as she used magic to pull the dishes to the sink, then start cleaning them. "Wonder what the Wolfe girl was doing last night, besides denting a muscle car. Did she beat up some poor kid who's trying to make a living, causing a disturbance, or getting her brother fired again."

After a couple of hours of tidying everything up while leaving Dorothy sleep on her couch. Before placing her down on the couch, she takes measurements by obscuring her behind a changing room.

10:00 PM

Dorothy woke up.

"How's your sleep?" Almira asked as she's watching a video on her tablet.

"Fine. I honestly got enough from all of the 120 years of sleep." Dorothy got up to stretch.

"No. You had to be conscious in order to let the glowing green water flow through you. So you had practically been awake for that long. I'm surprised you actually stood up from all that. Most Reborn Witches usually last at least a decade or two, but longer than that, might need a week to adjust and rest up from whatever happens." Almira smiled as she chuckled.

She sat down as she felt her head running. "My head hurts!"

"It's just your experience of pain or whatever traumatic event you have, because those are gonna become your spells." Almira brings her a cup of coffee with a Tylenol pill.

"Did you go through this?" Drink the coffee then take a pill.

She sat next to her as she pulled a uniform for her. "Every reborn Witch had to go through with that. You'll learn new spells on your own, through instinct. I created a couple of my own. From using elements of nature, man-made weaponry, and even using sickness against others. Speaking of which, remember that mucus you puke out?"

"Good question, I was gonna ask you what that's about?"

"It's whatever sickness, STD, or cancer you have had in the past, leaving your body. You should have seen the cancer ones. Those mucus bulbs were massive, but from what I've been told, those one hurts like hell. Some even died just from puking them up, but that's a rare case." She patted her back. "Should had seen mine."

Dorothy looked over to see the outfit. "What kind of outfit do you have for me?"

"Not official, but it's a duplicate of my Witch's outfit."

She stood up and presented a; dress top with waistcoat; pants; socks; slippers with ruby and silver; and a traditional Witch's hat.

Dorothy grabs the outfit. "How do you know about my size?"

"Did measurements. Give it a try!"

"I'll take a bath first." Dorothy walked to the washroom.

After a short while, Dorothy came out while wearing her outfit. "How do I look?"

Almira looks amazed by seeing Dorothy looking like a Witch. "Like a true Witch."

"Not gonna lie, don't see why with the hat though." Dorothy is looking at the hat.

Almira places it over her. "It's a way to obscure our faces to others. We're meant to be feared but welcoming at the same time."

"That proves why I'm here." Dorothy tips the hat forward. "And I feel quite hot, so why wear such thick fabric?"

"When we're flying, we get cold easily. Some of us like flying, like me, we wear thick clothing." Almira explained as she's dusting off any dirt.

Dorothy remembered. "When I was reading one of your books, do people really fly? And I don't mean like on broomsticks."

"Yes. Actually, I was gonna teach you how to fly, but seeing that the wolf girl ain't doing anything since she'll be having tickets. I think we'll be in the clear tonight." Almira walks her out to the backyard. "One more thing." Almira changed her long hair into short ponytail hair.

"Can't wait to fly." Dorothy seemed excited to fly.

"Yeah, but flying is the easy part. It's maintaining your body heat when you're up in the air. Some Witches that overheat their bodies will cause spontaneous combustion, that's why. So be careful." Almira grabs her broomstick then places it between Dorothy's legs.

"Any tips?" Dorothy asked.

"It's mostly a mental control, but think of yourself light as a feather and the pressure going up onto the crotch will be a tight feeling. That's why we go with pants, not skirts or dresses on what the old images tend to make you believe. That's why we sit sideways when we're wearing dresses. And if you ever talk to people, change your voice. It can duplicate whatever voice you had listened to but I recommend an old relative for it." Almira is setting her up. "Here's some other tips; try and fly around the city limits or forest, Wolfe don't usually go there to begin with; and don't make a scene. Or else we'll have to deal with MGGA." Patting her up. "Alright, give it a go!"

Dorothy is nervous as she starts thinking to herself as a feather. The moment she had that feeling, the broom with upward pressure put pressure onto her crotch area then flew up.

Almira cast a somewhat mask spell to create an invisible mask that muted Dorothy screams.

The broom stops above the clouds. Dorothy looked up to see the bright moon then amazed by the sight of it. The broom then starts flying down near the forest. Dorothy looks up and feels the cold air that Almira warned her about. The speed of flying, had caused Dorothy to be bewildered but amazed that she's flying.

Calming her mind, but it stopped that made her fly off of it. Landed hard onto the ground.

"Ouch!" Dorothy sat up. "That hurt like heck. Tarnation." Getting up to grab the broomstick. "But guess I'll give it another go." Getting up onto the broom again.

Thinking again, she sees the Yellow Brick Bridge, then decides to try to imagine herself flying slowly towards it. Barely moving an inch, Dorothy thought to herself that perhaps a bit faster, then noticed the river that goes under. She thought of going by the speed of the river, which does match it. The only thing Dorothy is having a hard time with is the speed. She kept closing her eyes whenever she needed to think but she hit the wall of the bridge. She landed hard at the side with her head busted open, and a broken finger.

Walking up to the river to see her reflection. Her broken fingers start to crack as if they're fixing itself, not causing her any pain. And the busted open scar from the side of her head is starting to heal itself while the blood evaporates.

"So that's what a Witch can do."

A mysterious male voice is heard from above. "Are you alright?!"

Dorothy looked around but finally looked up. Then internally screaming with thought. "Holy crap! I wasn't expecting to be spotted this soon!"

"Are you alright?!" The male voice calls out again.

Dorothy shakes her head then smacked her cheeks. "I'm alright, sir! Just had a hard time..."

Dorothy quickly tries to figure out what to say as she's remembering her friends back at the farmhand with a modern phrasing then remembering what an old friend named Oscar Marvel once said.

"Replicating what a Witch can do! I'm some sort of a scientist!" Dorothy lied, both on what Oscar would say and to the man up on the bridge.

"Oh!" He seemed disappointed. "Then it's okay then."

Dorothy's sign then was about to leave, but she had this feeling when she looked back up. She got this feeling that there's something wrong here as she decided to fly up. She slightly flew higher than expected but she originally tended to. She managed to fly down to match his level while keeping the advice that Almira said about the hat and the voice. Obscuring her face then thought of her mother when it comes to talking.

The man is an African-American. 6'. Around the age of early 20's. Clean shaved but have a beard. He's wearing casual clothing of just a shirt, jeans, sneakers, and an open loose hoodie.

Dorothy at first looked uncomfortable due to the person, but kept her eyes averted as she hid them behind the tip of her hat.

"For a scientist, you're quite Witchy looking." He commented on her look.

"Undercover?" Dorothy continues on lying, but terrible at it. Her voice is from southern to a calm and motherly tone.

"But it doesn't matter now." He looks around as he's standing on the bridge edge.

Dorothy examined the situation then noticed; red eyes; body shaken but not rapidly as he seemed to accept it; constantly looking at the bottom; hoodie is down then examine the bottom. It's clear to Dorothy, but has to ask.

"What's wrong?"

She sat on a side as if it's natural to her while closing the gap of any attempt of a jump.

"Nothing." He replied with a scared tone.

"Nothing you say?" Dorothy acts amused. "And yet you coming here is just nothing?"

"Yeah." He hesitated as he nodded.

"I don't believe it, but why stop here of all places?" Dorothy asked.

"I'm just... just... leave me alone. It doesn't concern you at all, Doctor." He leans back.

"How about this, I'll tell you a secret. Then you'll tell me what's wrong." Dorothy smiled.

"I know what you're gonna say, but I'll humour you."

"Alright. I'm not a scientist." Dorothy looked away but decided to take a chance. "I'm actually a Witch. I was afraid to be caught. Simple as that."

He looked up then stood up.

"Don't be afraid."

"I'm not afraid. I'm mostly relieved." He said that shocked her.

Baffled. "Relief? By seeing a Witch?"

"Yes!" He seemed to be excited. "Because you can do spells and I want to forget about this day."

Still baffled then trying to figure out what he meant. "Can you please elaborate?"

"Well I got word that what my sister did last night, and I was gonna drive her, boyfriend and brother to Kansas City for a job interview. Then it got word to my boss, so I was fired. And..." He sat down at the edge with Dorothy continuing on closing the gap of a jump. "I just don't have that feeling to live anymore."

"Please continue to elaborate, because I want to hear what you say. I want to try and understand your story." Dorothy leans on her side of the broom.

"I've been struggling with my identity." He looks back at Oztown.

"Identity? I've been reborn as a Witch, so I'm not from this time, but I'm still willingly listening."

"It has been happening for nearly three years now. During the last days of high school, I was confronted by a school free. He gave me a kiss on the cheek that created something that I didn't know what it was till I decided to follow a few people. I had girlfriends in the past, but if I'm being honest, I never saw them as more than a friend. I didn't want to hurt their feelings. For the past year, I had been avoiding till one of my exes boyfriend came up to me. Gave me an ass kicking for comparison reasons. Even call me the F-word."

Looking over texts with hate messages from her ex and boyfriend. "I've been fighting this for a year, and when I heard my sister's boyfriend got a job offer at Kansas City, I told her to find one in case..." He looks down again. "I might be gone, since she's growing up so fast and now she can do a lot better than me. I've done all I can, but after last night, I don't know if I could go for another round. I'm fighting against everything. The only thing I know is that everyone here is respectful, and Charlie wanted me to go up to Kansas to party it up with her and the Grimes, but I don't have it in me to do so."

Dorothy looked at him, then at Oztown. She's trying to find a good response but couldn't.

"I'll be perfectly honest with you since I'm from a different time period. But I'll try to help." She went right back up. "I see that you're under stress, depression, and most likely feel like you're under attack. But my advice..."

She continues on trying to come up with something, but couldn't till she remember her time back at the old school ways, and hard days in the farm work. Till the last day of school.

"Just deal with it, and learn to adapt from it." Dorothy looks at him with an expression that doesn't give her confidence, but she continues.

"I had lived here, Oz country before it became Oztown. I had a bad day in school, where I got into a fight with a boy. Back then, us girls weren't meant to raise our voices or even our fists. Unladylike. But on that last day of school, I defended my friend..."

Realized that she may never see him, or her parents again. "Whom I'll never see or anyone ever again. I fought the bully. I got bloodied, bruised, and even had my hair ripped away. I beat that bully, but what I remember when I saw Mr. Marvel, you know what he did after he saw me defending him?"

The man shakes his head.

"He beats Oscar right in front of everyone, telling him that he wants to raise a man instead of a little sissy. Then afterwards, I got slapped by him because he doesn't want to see a woman, fighting for a man. So as a way to prove himself, he held me back. I would say made Oscar fight, but he ended up getting beat up worse than me. He was proud that his son took a beating like 'a real man' in his view. But that's not it."

"What more could he do? He already downright, publicly, abused his son." He asked Dorothy who's eyes went from emerald green to piercing violet eyes.

"He wants me to learn my place with a belt. Back then, women beating were far more severe than today's standards. More legalized. After that long day, I decided to go back home and my parents were worried but they were more afraid of what would happen if I ever do something so reckless again. I decided to run away before a tornado struck."

Her eyes went back to emerald.

"Then the Witch that saved me, made me into a Witch." Dorothy looks around and sees the old farm lands, school, and even animals here before turning back to modern day.

"I've been asleep for 123 years inside of a Cauldron. I just woke up last night, and now... I'm lost and alone in this new world that I had to adapt to. Even when the old ways still run in my veins, I still had to learn to deal with it and adapt from it. I may not understand what you're going through, but I do understand the pain." Dorothy stood up.

"If I'm gonna be in this world, I have to learn from it. So for you, you shouldn't allow the world's standards to get in your way. If beatings or words managed to break you down? Then it didn't break you down into a lesser person. Only you can only keep going forward on finding out who you are."

The man smiled. "Finding out who I am? Then... perhaps I'm just a gay man who survives an onslaught of hate."

"I may not understand what being gay about, but I do understand when a person is down, you can't just beat them down and force them on who they should be. Since I'm a Witch in a modern day with these Magical Girls that I still don't understand, but I'm gonna try and rebuild myself into what people can't hold me down from. A good person." Dorothy smiled.

The man looked around then wondered. "Who are you?"

"My name is..." Dorothy remembered that perhaps she has to come up with a false name, so, "Glinda. The Northern Good Witch."

Glinda reaches out her hand in order to prove that not all Witches are bad.

"My first good deed as a Good Witch, I want to take you home and sleep it off for a bit. So, want a ride?"

The man hesitated at first but slowly accepted it.

During the moment, Dorothy had felt the hardest punch she had ever felt and it had launched her into the forest.

Hitting every branch then onto the boulder, thus breaking it.

"Ouch!" Dorothy moans out of pain. Her body starts healing itself again.

She pulls herself out of the boulder while obscuring her face.

"So are you a Witch?" The voice came across her as she prepared for a fight of her life. "Let me introduce myself. I'm... the Red Riding Wolf!" She grins.
