CHAPTER TWO
Friday morning
I got to the school gate and was afraid to enter cause what if the peeps in the cafeteria yesterday was watching the whole drama. I thought over and over if coming to school today was a bad idea and I should just turn back and go back home or just head to a café for a milk drink with some bread for breakfast and then head home. As I was still thinking of what to do i felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Are you thinking of going back home?"
I turned around to see Tyler giving me a look I could not understand, he was wearing black joggers a blue oversized hoddie saying "Boys Rule" and on his feet he had on a pair of black Nikes
" Boys Rule? Well that's a first" I say trying to dodge the question
"What's wrong with it? This my dear is a piece of inspirational work " He said while pointing to the writing on the hoddie
" Yeah like always''
'' But seriously though you really don't want to be here today right? '' He said going back to the question I was trying to avoid
Tyler knows me too well and he wasn't going to give up until I gave him a reply and if the reply wasn't an honest one he will continue to disturb my peace.
" Tyler honestly I don't know'' I said as I fixed my gaze on the floor
'' Yeah I figured out. So to boost your confidence lemme not lie to you''
'' About what?? '' I said turning back to him
'' Everyone in the cafeteria yesterday were looking at the whole fiasco ''
'' Tyler!! how am I supposed to enter school now?? why would you tell me ?''
"Just encouraging you shawty" he said as he gave me that devilish smile
I shook my head and with a deep breath I took a step through the school door I felt this huge gush of wind on my face and then I knew that there was nothing to fear of anything going wrong today but I was wrong horribly wrong.
As I stepped into class I was completely invisible, like nobody recognized my presence and I was really happy about it, I walked to my normal sitting place at the back of the class and looked around if I could find Jack anywhere but I couldn't find him so I assumed he hadn't come to school yet and just placed my head on my table to sleep cause I was very tired and didn't get enough sleep last night.
'' Didn't get enough sleep sweetie'' a random feminine voice said to me
'' It's like you know exactly how I feel'' I replied the voice
I raised my head to meet the evil eyes of Kristen Michael and she had this awful grin on her face. I have never talked to her before and I always made sure that I avoided her and her evil group of girlfriends .
"Look Jessica or whatever your name is this is a warning... stay away from Zeke Balker he is mine you snatcher, I saw your little drama yesterday,"
"First of its Jupiter and whatever Kristen just go I have heard your warning I never even liked Zeke in the first place so get lost he isn't even my type"
" Exactly your to low for his level " she replied
" Ohh so you think your his level? " I stood up.
She didn't think I could talk back at her, I knew because of the look of shock she had on her face
" What a joke" I continued, you know in those movies where the girl would roll her eyes to show she was serious, yeah I did I freaking rolled my eyes at Kristen!! I actually felt cool for once
She looked at me still with shock in her eyes but her expression had changed to that of a bad biatch while clearing her throat she said just two words
" Game on"
She whiped her hair and cat walked away.
" ughhhh the worst " I said to myself
Just then I heard Jack's horrible singing voice it was so annoying but I was happy to hear it
"Hey short stack"
" Back to you disappointment"
" Why you late? I thought I woke you up early? "
" yeah I kind of slept off "
" Sure sleepy head"
" So yesterday what was Zeke telling you that took so long?" Jack asked as he looked at me for so long that I started getting the chills
" He just asked me to go out with him for strawberry Ice cream"
" Why strawberry?"
I shook my head and shrugged my shoulders up to signify I didn't know
"But I was surprised tho because I never told him strawberry was my favorite " I said while removing my school materials from my bag and placing them on the table.
As Jack and I continued to discuss our History teacher walked in the class we didn't know when he walked in and we continued talking, suddenly the whole class went silent Jack and I were still laughing until my eyes caught a glimpse of some students look at us that's when I turned my head and saw the whole class were staring at us I had to elbow Jack to get his attention. Once he realized he cleared his throat and went to his seat in front of me. Then boom!! the whole class started laughing and some were murmuring, I felt so ashamed that I just put my head on the desk.
IN THE AFTERNOON
I caught up with Tyler before he entered the boys locker room and I noticed that there was not a pleasant smile on his face like always and also a bruise on his face
"Did you get into a fight again?" I asked while touching his bruise
" Yeah, why do you care??" He said so bluntly as he rudely removed my hand from his face
" Rude!, I always care so what the heck are you saying"
" Jupiter just leave me alone stop butting into my business"
Okay Tyler can behave like a jerk sometimes but this is ridiculous what has gotten into him. i thought to myself
"Tyler c'mon it's me your best friend " I said as I opened my arms signifying him to hug me
" Best friend my ass go and hang out with your other guys you whore" He said in a loud voice and after that he entered the locker room looking more angry
I was to shocked to speak, me a whore... I haven't even had a crush talk less about a boyfriend
I went to the field and sat on the bleachers looking around with a sad and confused face, I got even more confused as I saw Tyler hanging out with the cheerleaders, he never I mean never talks to the cheerleaders especially because Kristen was the assistant but right now it even looked like Tyler was flirting with her. I was so confused and angry that I didn't know when I slapped myself in the face [ it's a habit I have when I get angry it includes scratching and slapping myself.] As I started scratching myself I heard my name from a familiar voice, it was Betty my lab partner
" Jupiter your scratching again, what happened?"
" It's Tyler he fought with me when I did nothing he called me a whore!! and he is flirting with Kristen" I said angrily
" Woah that's not like him''
"Right?" I replied
" I think there is a misunderstanding'' Betty said while holding my hand preventing me from scratching
" And right now we work in the same place "
" Best thing to do is spoil the car engine so he won't get early at least you'd have peace for an hour or two "
" Nah I'm not that harsh" I said while laughing
That's why I love Betty she is just so helpful and funny and she knows how to calm me down
"Don't worry girl he will come back to his senses but for now let him roam free, I have an idea, Starbucks by 5?"
"Sure thing I do have to get my mind of him for a while"
Betty stood up and left while I decided to watch the boys as they practiced for the upcoming school football match while I was still watching Zeke walked up to me and smiled
" Hey Jupi "
" Jupi? that's new "
" You don't like it?" He said as he sat down beside me on the bleachers
" Nah its okay, I was just surprised "
" Ohh okay, I'm happy you like it I was already planning spending another hour thinking of another one thanks for saving me the stress "
" You used a whole hour to think of Jupi?" I said while I giggled
"Why would you do that?" I continued
"Well an old friend told me that a good nickname shows how special the person is to you"
"Ohh wow" I said partly speechless
I really can't believe that Zeke is talking to me right now like I mean just two of us on the bleachers talking, I know something like this is not supposed to freak me out but dudeee
" So do you think your still up for our ice cream ?"
" I wish I could say yes but I already got a warning to stay away from you "
" Lemme guess Kristen "
" Yeah I don't like drama "
" Yeah you made that clear the other day in the cafeteria "
" Well thank you for reminding me of that incident but I think my mood just changed I'll be on my way now, bye Zeke "
As I stood up to leave Zeke pulled me back down I got to say that guy got some strength cause the force he used to pull me down and the speed I just can't explain
" Hey look I'm sorry about spoiling your mood but please tell me if you have accepted my request "
I looked into his eyes, so much sincerity or maybe he was just using puppy eyes but something in me told me I could trust him and that he wasn't lying so of course why not.
" Fine I accept your request but it's just a normal ice cream date no strings attached"
" I promise you no strings attached "
I stood up and walked away but something in me wanted him to drag me again I know it sounds stupid but I really wished he did.
