Chapter 53: It's always the quiet ones

"Emmmm," Layla squealed, she had been invited by Ashton to 'Em's first variety show viewing' by Ashton, coincidentally, also organized by Ashton. 

Mr Wright, don't you have companies to run?

Why are you organizing viewing parties for my friends and family when you have bigger fish to fry?

Nonetheless, they were all fitted into Emmaline's living room at Sera's request. 

Emmaline had only agreed because she didn't want her mother to have to travel too much. 

So, now they had Layla next to Camilla on the couch gossiping like old friends, Sera resting on her armchair after bringing out some snacks and Emmaline hovering around since Ashton was expected anytime. 

"It's always the quiet ones," Layla told Camilla conspiratorially as they giggled. 

"What on earth are you talking about?" Emmaline's cold had gone away in a couple of days, but her cough had taken a while longer and her voice was still a little raspy.
