Verena, Aurora, and Aaron had settled into a corner booth at the restaurant. They placed their orders, and then Aurora, her eyes tinged with nervous excitement, began recounting the events of the previous night.

Aaron's fork clinked against his plate, his appetite forgotten, as he absorbed the bombshell Aurora had just dropped.

"Married? Are you sure this isn't some kind of twisted joke?" He looked at Verena, disbelief etched across his face.

Aurora's gaze was steady. She jumped in, saying, "Aaron, why would we ever prank you about something like this? Aurora wouldn't mess with something so important."

Verena's eyes met her brother's, a mixture of anxiety and sincerity in her expression. "I promise, Aaron, it's true. I'm married."
