Chapter 6: time skip
three years after.

I feel like I've grown a lot through these three years, both physically and mentally well. No matter what I do, I'll always stay in top shape. I asked for infinite stamina and durability, but ig those abilities were emphasized to make a perfect body kinda overkill on the overpowered side, but oh well, anyways kyrie has taught me alot and I've gotten to copy a whole bunch of skills from so many basketball player's, for some reason outta nowhere the ability that I asked for which is the all seeing eye is now working. well, I say this mainly because due to having a perfect body, my reflexes were superhuman, but I never faced the sensation that I was feeling when I played on a school team. For starters, as soon as I got into the court, I faced immense pressure.
i don't know if it was because I was nervous or if it had something to do with the other team, but they were good listen, you might say how can someone that beat kyrie irving the best if not the greatest ball handler the league has can be nervous with a few kids but im telling you they were good, but I soon later on found out he wasn't trying at all made sense since because if high schoolers in Japan were so good that also meant that nba players had to be almost godlike especially in the world of Kuroko no Basket. everyone who had talent for the sport was good.
Anyway, let's get back on topic. These high schoolers were on a different level, and it made sense due to the fact that they were rated the number one team in America, and my team was number two they had this immense pressure and I was kinda nervous because I have never felt this type of pressure before in eigther lives well only when I played with kyrie half serious and not even then because he understood I was a kid and felt like he had to hold back but these kids were way to serious it was almost like they thought it would be their last game because they would die if they didn't win. so as both starting players on both teams were called up, me being one of them. I was excited because it was my first time being on the starting roster without having to try hard at all, it was time for the tip off and I being the smallest player on the court was the point guard a rather weird position for me because in my past life I was a shooting guard. so we won the tip off, and the center passed the ball to me.
I brought the ball down the court and was planning on being a playmaker, but I saw none of my teammates open so I had to take measures on to my own hands, but when I tell you their defense was impossible to penetrate I guess the nerves were getting to me because the ball was stolen from me almost instantaneously. I know i have superhuman reflexes, but I couldn't see it coming. The ball stumbled off my hands, and the other teams point guard stole the ball and went full speed to the hoop and went for a layup. I was right behind him, waiting for that little indicator to show he was putting the ball up as I saw him initiate the lay-up. I jumped in order to block the lay-up, but he turned the lay-up into a double clutch lay-up.
I was surprised by the sudden change and couldn't expect it cause even though I sensed they were good, I still underestimated them because I only thought the generation of miracles were the only problem but i guess there are even more talented players after a while of trying and trying I couldn't do anything and it seemed like we were about to lose as the score was 72-45 we were down 27 points I was feeling anguished as I did not wanna lose this game as we made it to the finals in the championship and this being the last game is did not want this game to end in our loss but out of nowhere I heard this voice in my head that seemed quite familiar but I couldn't remember where I heard it from it said, "how can you have so much talent yet not know how to use it".
I quickly remembered where I heard that voice from as it was mine, but from my past life, I envied those who had talent so in order to make up for the difference i tried to work hard in order to reach their level but in the end all that hard work amounted to nothing because if one does not have talent and touch the ceiling no matter how hard they try they will never touch the sky. but in this life, I swore to change that I swore to myself that I'll touch the sky and everything past it. but no matter how hard I tried, I never did well against these kids. These kids were on a whole different level. I then thought about it for a second and came to the realization, even if I had perfect copy.
It didn't allow me to predict the future or make strategic decisions, but since there were no activation triggers in order for me to use the all-seeing eye, I guess losing this game is just inevitable, I just thought of how ironic it is to become the thing you most envied. Right when I was about to wollow in my despair, I looked at the players one last time and saw an after image of each one of them even though they were standing still, its as if I can take look at the future and predict my opponents movements, but not just only that I realized my thought process seemed almost supernatural, for the fact that every movement my opponent made I would strategically calculate it and every movement I made was also calculated effortlessly.
out of nowhere i had the idea of taking on the persona of a certain someone with similar eye abilities to mine. it was our turn to be on offense and so i calmly dibbled the ball past the half courtline, the other teams point guard began guarding me, when he came close to me i said its time for you to worship your god, he looked at me with a face that seemed to be shock he then said God hah don't make me laugh your trash you should've given up on playing basketball a long time ago but I guess there's a first time for everything, I just laughed loudly and said I guess there really is a first time for everything I then initiated a simple move but deadly if used perfectly a move i copied from the worlds greatest ball handler kyrie irving, i acted as if i was driving towards the hoop the other teams P.G followed right after me thats where i quickly did a snatch back the other teams P.G center of gravity was off so he fell to the floor shocked, "now bow down to your god".
I then initiated a jumpshot i copied from Shintaro Midorima, G.O.M'S perfect shooter as the ball left my fingertips with such high arc, I landed on the ground and said you'll never beat me with the way you play basketball then i started walking towards my defensive position when as was arriving at my spot people were saying, "why the hell did walk away like that who does he think he is does he really think he made that shot?", all that could be heard in the gym at that
moment was the simple swish of the net right as the ball went through the net everyone was astonished on how he made the ball with such a high arc then the basketball gym was filled with loud roars of the people on the stands Haruki's coach who was a friend of kyrie was astonished and taken aback at how Haruki made that Shot.
