Chapter 12: Chapter 12: World Enemy [3]
As the flames died down, the phoenix and I both stood toe to toe, both of us breathing heavily from the intense battle. Both of us only had 3,9000 HP left, and we knew that this was the deciding moment.
I am not in the best of my conditions, I feel tired my limbs are heavy but this is no time to complain.
I swung my great sword with all my might many times, the sword that seemed to glow with a reddish radiant power cut through the air sending slashing waves towards the beast. My rythm was fast so the phoenix could only evade a few slashes. I was determined to win, and I would not hesitate to die in this final clash.
The phoenix was equally determined to win, and it raised its wings and unleashed its full power. The flames swept over the battlefield once more, and the air was filled with smoke and ash making it almost impossible to see.
Flying at a fast pace it cuted through my skin using its claws many times, both of our HPs were going down at a fast pace because of our exchange of strike.
I started feeling that I was getting cornered and I was most likely going to lose.
'Should I transfom to my dragon form? Its my last solution and trump card I guess its time to use it...'
As I was getting ready to alter a huge water ball as big as building falled upon the phoenix almost puting out its fire and damaging it greatly.
'AINZ! Thank you buddy!'
I flashed to the beast in a blur, my speed was so great that soundwaves were following my tracks and the ground I flew on was getting crushed leaving behind and long red and orange melted crater of rocks and dirt since I was only a few centimeters above the ground.
I went past the Phoenix and slashed the phoenix using my great sword and stopped 35 meters away from it.
ANNOUCEMENT! The guild 'Ainz Ooal Gown' and the player 'Virako' succesfully slayed the world enemy 'Blazing Phoenix'. Rewards will be destributed directly into the players inventory depending of the contribution in the battle.
Everyone started celebrating and dancing around, players were happy, but...
"Why is the phoenix still alive?..." Ainz asked his self.
He looked at Viriako and saw him putting away his weapon, sitting to the ground to rest and drinking health and mana potions. The annoucement was made but the phoenix was still alive and kicking.
Suddently the beast let out a thunderoud roar and rushed towards Viriako as if to take revenge, but Virako seemed to be not realising the situation, or more like... Not caring?
"VIRIAKO! WATCH OUT!!!!" I cried to alarm my friend, he was the one to contribute the most so letting him die and lose some levels after all this effort is the worst thing that can happen to a player.
But still even after hearing mt shouts he didn't move from his spot and was relaxing his back on a tree while the pheonix was flying like a sniper bullet to kill him, then, it happened...
Wait? The moment the phenox was about to strike it's head was seperated from the body, when they fell to the ground they rebounded several time on the ground because of their speed then the beast desintegrated in the air.
"Just what the hell happened?" Ainz was clueless of the scene that unfolded before his empty eye sockets...

A few days went by since the fight against the world enemy. The company, usally when big events like those happen they stream them on a streaming platform.
The fight went viral, a few individuals too as well as the guild, and the main character of the fight, me!
No one understood what happened in the battlefield when watching the fight for the first time. But after reapeating it many times at slow motion and zooming in, things got clear.
When I attacked for the last time, I decapitated the beast's head and thanks to my class battle god the slash was so clean and mastered that even the pheonix didn't realise it was already death. I played the game xD.
But the most interesting part is the rewards and drops right? I was the one who dealt the most damage to the phoenix so logicly I had the best drops.
First things first I barely gained two levels making me officialy level 72, the first in the game to reach it.
For the drop I got a single item, but not any item. I got a fucking world item. Its a green ring that restore and regenerate health. Here is its description.
The Green Ring of Vitality: One of the world items, and one of the rarest at that. A constant and continuous source of regeneration. This ring regenerates the health and vitality of its bearer non stop and at all times. When injured, as long as the bearer isn't dead it will heal any injury even if its a severed limbs or damaged/destroyed organs.

I placed it in my left index. This is not everything I actualy got a new trait that will help me so much from now on since things get difficult.
Limit breaker: leveling up becomes easier, getting experience is no longer a hard task. Experience gained is boosted by x1.25 permanantly. THIS TRAIT DOES NOT LEVEL UP!
