Chapter 20: Slow down
Ray opened his door. The lights were on his room so he assumed they must have arrived. As he walked to the living room. He saw the group playing a card game.
Yuta noticed him and waved. " You are late. " He said.
Ray smiled. " Sorry, I got lost. " He brought up the food and said, " Let's eat. "
He placed the food on the table and went to the kitchen. " Who wants to eat Ramen? " He asked.
Maki was the first one to answer. " Me. "
" Me too. " Panda replied.
" Can you eat Ramen? " Yuta asked. He had not seen Panda eat.
" Tuna. " Toge answered. Yuta nodded with a confused look.
" I guess so. " He stood up from the floor and walked to the kitchen. " Need help. "
" Thank you, Can you chop some vegetables? " Ray pointed at the fridge.
" Sure. "
Ray began to cook some food.
After that was a feast. Welcome party for Yuta.
Maki and Toge were cleaning the dishes while Panda was lying on the floor. His snoring was echoed in the room.
" Maki said you are about to apply to a special grade test. "
Ray laughed and shook his head, " It is too soon for me. Gojo needs me to teach about the domain. And I want to learn about the reverse cursed technique as well."
" So many steps to do. " He sighed, opening the bag of potatoes.
" Want some? "
Yuta declined the offer.
" Can I ask you a question? "
Ray stopped and looked at Yuta. "Go ahead. "
" What are you looking for? "
Ray tilted his head. He didn't understand the question.
" I know every jujutsu sorcerer wishes to reach the peak but that is too shallow. That goal won't drive a person to reach the peak. I am sure you need something else. " Yuta smiled.
" And I want to know what drives you to become like this. "
Ray paused. " That is a great question. You want to help others because of the incident with Rika. Maki wants to prove herself. I don't know much about those two but I can see they are trying to prove someone. "
" As for me. " Ray looked at his hand. " Nothing. "
He shook his head. " It is not that either. "
He looked at Yuta's eyes. " I want to be strong. That's the answer I can give you. There are many things you can take from that answer. My personal goal or to ensure other safety. You can arrive at that answer in many forms but at the end of the day, I want to be strong. "
" And you are not strong yet? "
To that question, Ray saw Gojo's back. He chuckled at himself for a moment.
" I want to be strongest. "

The next morning, all of them part away. They all slept in Ray's dorm. The last night was a mess but thankfully they all cleared his room.
After taking a shower, Ray grabbed his phone and dialled some numbers. He waited for a moment.
" What? " Megumi's annoyed tone entered the phone.
" There will be no lesson today. " Ray spoke.
He heard nothing from the other side. " Aren't you happy? "
" I am sure you are tired of seeing my face. " Ray laughed.
" Don't worry, we will double the time on the off day. "
" What! " Megumi yelled.
Before he could say anything, Ray hung up the phone. ' Now, I have cleared up my schedule. It's time to meet Gojo. '
He dialed again this time to Gojo. " What's up? "
" Where are you? " He asked.
" Right now, I am busy cleaning up the mission. " Gojo said.
The sound of people screaming could be heard. Ray nodded. " I want to talk about something with you. "
" Can't you wait? I am busy. Hey! Don't touch this. "
Ray frowned. " Tell me your location. I will come."
" Hmm. " Gojo pondered for a moment. He agreed. " Ok. I will call Ichiji to pick you up. "
" I warned you. This mission is a bit crazy. "

Meanwhile, Gojo was facing another special-grade sorcerer. Although the other person didn't like to call that term, he didn't care.
Gojo's bandages loose revealing a blue pair of eyes. His eyes carried weight to the world, almost as if he was seeing the depth through all things.
He smiled. "Looks like this is not the time for your visit. " Gojo laughed.
" What? " The sorcerer shouted.
Gojo spread the barrier technique. The technique he was heavily focused on learning. He didn't think he would need to learn but the teacher needed a higher ground.
And he didn't want to embarrass himself by knowing a little bit about the barrier.
He combined his innate technique with the barrier. " Blue. "
" Come back tomorrow. " Gojo said.
The Sorcerer also activated the technique but he was immediately teleported. Gojo looked at the ground and laughed.
" Finally, I found the perfect training ground for Ray. " He called Ichiji.
" Yo. Grab Ray and drop him here. " Gojo said with a smile.
" What? I don't care. " Gojo walked to the ruined house. He stepped onto the dry brunches.
" Tell those higher up. Eat some shit." Gojo cursed.
" If they stopped your way, ask Ray to clean up. Anyway, bring him to the Meeting point. " Gojo hung up the phone.
He sat on the chair and looked up at the sky. The black cracks were all over the place. The place where all phoenenmon took place at the same time far away from all curses.
His eyes pierced all phenomena and he didn't this place at all.
