Chapter 2: CH1

Akatosh was camping with her parents in the Black Forest adjacent to their home in Blackpong.

She had her own tent, her parents shared the second, the one right beside hers. There was a small fireplace in front of both tents, where a few hours ago they had dinner together and then roasted marshmallows over the fire and shared scary stories.

After a while they jumped into the sleeping bags. Akatosh, exhausted from the arduous trek filled with happiness welcomed sleep.

A few hours later, however, she was awakened from her sleep. The night suddenly seemed different ... there was a touch of otherness, falseness in the air.

The night seemed threatening, the fire that was supposed to burn through the whole night had gone out and the darkness seemed to engulf everything. The forest is unnatural still.

Aktosh's breathing quickened, her hands began to tremble, her pulse thundered in her ears. "Something was wrong!" she thought. She started to open the tent and wanted to run to her parents. Only a few meters ahead, however it seemed to be the miles for Akatosh she suddenly froze. No muscle wanted to move anymore. Akatosh struggled against the rigidity, but she lost miserably. Her panic spiked, eyes wide, senses heightened. A different chanting sounded in the background In her panic, however, Akatosh didn't seem to notice. Suddenly the atmosphere seemed to be torn apart. Otherness seemed to corrupt everything.

The forest died. Trees, flowers, bushes withered, animals cried out in agony. Akatosh didn't seem to understand. She couldn't grasped the situation. She was still trapped. Suddenly her parents stumbled out of the tent, but something was wrong Akatosh thought.

Their hair seemed to fall out, their eyes had a reddish hue, faces grotesquely contorted, limbs stretched out. Akatosh Panic multiplied, losing control of the bladder and Urin soaked her trousers. Her shaking seemed to intensify. The rigidity suddenly breaks and Akatosh falls backward onto the dead land.

Her parents startet growled at her. The sounds seemed feral and primal. Akatosh didn't understand: What is happening here? Whats wrong with Mom and Dad? Are they ill? she wondered. "Mo...mom? D...Dad?" came the anxious voice from her small mouth. Suddenly her parents pounce on her and grab Akatosh. "Ahhh !" Akatosh screamed. Fingernails duging into her flesh. Bones broke with a sickening crunch, pain rushed through Akatosh and Darkness welcomed her.

Akatosh woke up drenched in sweat. Eyes wide open, body tense and her heartbeat pounding in her ears like an army running into battle. Her breath comes in gasps.

Gradually, her breathing normalized, her pulse slowed, and the last signs of panic faded. The dream left a bitter aftertaste on her tongue as always, the memories of the day that changed everything.
