Chapter 3: Chapter 2 "Tutorial Bridge"

The once-empty bridge is now filled with creatures of Hell...

Every single scary thing you could ever think of appeared before the boy.

"Ahhh... What a developer..." The boy said bitterly.

The axe he held tightly felt slipping away as his heart beat faster.

"I don't know what's worst... Getting surrounded by these mobs or the feeling I am currently experiencing." The boy said as he gripped the axe tightly.

"My heart's beating faster. I should feel scared... But... Why does my heart tell me to charge right in?" The boy smiled.

*Woosh*

A shortsword went by the boy, grazing his cheek as it passed through. Fresh blood flows through the newly formed wound.

"I---it's burning... My cheek feels burning." The boy put his hand on his cheek.

"You have been inflicted with Poison (Minor). You'll be losing 0,1% HP for every 30 seconds."

"Just my luck, huh? The first attack that hits me inflicted me with a debuff..."

As the boy speaks, some of the mobs start to make a move. Rather than the Hellish Grunt he defeated before, there are more Skeletons in the fray.

Of course, Hell just doesn't reward the boy with two kinds of mobs as the reward for defeating the Hellish Grunt; there are even unknown creatures with their skin looking like cracks of lava.

Unlike before, the boy had all the leisure to plan and try things out when he was fighting only 1 Hellish Grunt.

Now? No matter which direction he took, it was blocked by these mobs.

"These Skeletons would be a much better option to go first, considering their low stats and some weapons they carry." The boy murmured.

He charged at a Skeleton holding a sword and swung his axe at it.

*Crack*

The Skeleton crumbled as the axe maimed its arm. Dropping the sword it was holding, the boy considered changing the axe for the sword for the sake of versatility.

Before he could make his choice, a Hellish Grunt swung its club at the boy; using the height difference, the boy ducked and saw the Hellish Grunt hit some of the crowds.

The boy didn't waste any chance and swung his axe towards the head of the fallen mobs.

*Critical Hit!*

*Critical Hit!*

Before he could take another swing, a Skeleton bashed him with a shield straight to his ribs.

"AACKHH---" The boy got knocked a few meters back.

"Is this... Even a... Game..." The boy tried to stand as he touched the part where the Skeleton just hit him.

"It... 100%... So this... What it means..." The boy holding his pain, having trouble breathing, could only smile.

The boy took a deep breath before he finally let go of his hand, his heart beating faster than ever as he saw the mobs approaching.

"This kind of thing is the thing I've been missing in my life." The boy gripped his axe tightly once again.

He charged to the crowd once again, knowing fully well the attack pattern of the Hellish Grunt with the club would be a horizontal swing he was trying to exploit it.

Alas, another Skeleton with a sword appeared before him before reaching his target.

He took a step back, and his eyes widened as if he realized something.

"Wait a minute... It's not like I should defeat them! I should just go straight to the shrine!"

The boy scanned around the crowds, trying to figure out a way out of these mobs and finding a route quickly leading him to the shrine.

At some part of the bridge where there are fewer mobs, there would be 4 Hellish Grunts in a place.

Knowing fully well he can't take on 1 Hellish Grunt confidently, 4 would be just a suicide mission.

He observed once again before finally seeing a small path, enough for him to go through.

He ran for the path, crowded by Skeletons but knowing they couldn't coordinate well, he exploited the fact again.

Using his small posture, he nimbly maneuvered along the mobs, feeling satisfied as he watched the Skeleton and Hellish Grunt hit each other while he tried to evade.

As he went through the crowd of mobs, he could finally see the shrine by the end of the bridge.

"This is it!" The boy exclaimed.

*Boom*

The boy got thrown forward by an unknown explosion from behind.

He tried to stand up quickly, regaining his senses after the explosion's impact.

He dragged his foot forward while taking a deep breath as he looked back.

It's the mob with lava cracks on its skin. Apparently, this mob is some kind of a mage-type mob. Seeing how it readied another ball of flame in its hand, preparing to throw it on the boy.

The boy looked forward again, realizing he was close to the shrine. He could finally see the end of the bridge; he sprinted and then jumped as the bridge ended.

He looked back only to find the mobs had stopped chasing him, the goal in front of him and no more danger stalking him. The boy finally took a breath of relief.

"YES! TAKE A LOOK AT THAT GAME! YOU SEE THAT? YEAH, I CROSSED THE BRIDGE!" The boy screamed excitedly.

"Let me take a breather first... Huft... Huh... The poison makes me feel sluggish; there are also a few scratches and bruises here and there... Why didn't I feel anything though?" The boy wondered.

"Knowing well the attack before on me left an impression it almost killed me, why would the other attacks go unnoticed? My HP bar surely dropped as well, although it slightly recovered occasionally..."

"Is it because of the adrenaline? Did all those happen because my body thought I was in danger? 100% sensitivity truly is something else..." The boy sighed.

The boy finally took a step closer to the shrine.

"WARNING! A STRONG OPPONENT DETECTED! YOU SHOULD RETURN TO YOUR DESIGNATED LEVEL AREA!"

The boy dead stopped on his steps, looking at the front only to find a towering presence...

If the Hellish Grunt was around 190 cm, then the one in front of him is approximately 250 cm tall...

A figure wrapped with scars and bandages all over his body, he holds a thorny whip in his right hand. while holding a skull on the other...

"If this doesn't instill fear as his name suggests and his stats indicated... Then I don't know what will... Seriously what a tutorial." The boy smiled while he gripped his axe tightly once again.
