Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Myrah 's POV

Paris, grinning. This is your chance, Alton said as he walked me down the aisle.

It would be an understatement to say that I was tense. My face was getting hot, my legs were shaking, and I had sweaty palms.I was dressed in a stunning, clearly designer mermaid gown. Because everything was to Alisa's taste, she must have chosen it.

For the first time in a very long time, I put a lot of effort into my appearance. I hoped it had to be at least okay.

I feared this situation. My dad was supposed to lead me down the aisle, like I had always imagined, but destiny had other ideas. Alton was present, at least. I was aware that he still harbored affection for his younger sibling.

I was standing next to my future spouse at the altar when we eventually arrived there.

Maybe I missed it, but he hadn't given me a single glance. He didn't appear to be very happy and had his eyes fixed on the priest. He didn't even appear to be smiling.

Despite everything, I couldn't help but be impressed with how effortlessly attractive he was. In person, he appeared even better.

He was taller than I am, was smoking hot, and possessed a body that any woman would kill for. His eyes were emerald green, and his hair was dirty blonde. Surprisingly, I thought that was his best quality, despite the way they appeared frigid. They carried a secret that I had yet to unravel.

They resembled a forest, really. I would get lost in one. I had never before found the concept of getting lost appealing, but if I could do it in his forest, I would gladly provide my services.

We exchanged marriage vows and all the other formalities. I shuddered just hearing his voice. It wasn't your typical shudder. I had never experienced anything like it before—it was intense and private.

My cheeks were red when it was time to kiss. I had an image of a romantic kiss from a movie in my head. A kiss that would supposedly give me butterflies.

Once more, reality completely mocked my imagination. It was merely a peck on the lips' corner. That wasn't a kiss, though!

I had already found it humorous that I would experience my first kiss on my wedding day, but it was now even funnier. Even after the reception for my wedding, I still had pristine lips.

Everything happened so quickly that I was confined to the billionaire's car in no time at all. Please excuse me, but I thought that my husband's car was now also legally mine.

His odor filled the limousine, which was a luxury vehicle. My nose was entirely stuffed, and my brain was completely drunk. I would soon be able to get a better look at his scent and run my hands through his oh-so-sexy hair.

However, there was one thing that disturbed me. He hadn't said anything to me or even given me a glance. His brows wrinkled as he typed quickly on his cellphone. He appeared preoccupied.

I had no idea how the whole wife thing worked, but I figured I'd give it a go. I lightly cleared my throat in an effort to garner attention, but I got none.

I guess I was too soft. I tried it again.

He asked me coldly, "Do you need something?" while still engrossed in his phone.

Despite the bitterness it contained, his voice was like a melody to my ears.

Since we don't know each other, I guess we might start by making introductions. I started doing my best to slightly amplify my voice.

He remained silent. I started to feel strange.

I'm Myrah Dante, so there. Anyway, Valentino.

"I recognize you. I won't wed a man or woman whose name I don't know.

What a shocker, then. Okay, so maybe I was just being a fool and a child. He wasn't helping, and I had no idea how this worked. Was this typical of all newlyweds, or was it only in my situation?

"How about you tell me more about yourself, or maybe I'll go first?" I questioned more than I said.

Nothing is worth mentioning.

I'll tell you about myself instead, then. First of all, I enjoy…

"Please give me some peace, and is that how you always speak?" If so, I apologize, but it's just gratingly low.

My heart stopped immediately. Now that his eyes were on me, I felt self-conscious.

He was giving me that same hard look that Alton always gave me just before hitting me senseless.

I could always tell when someone was going to unleash a volcano by their furious face.

Val, why do I not understand?

I'm not Val, please. I'll never let you call me Val. "Only my friends and family can call me that.

My heart was suddenly pounding against my ribcage like a trapped bird.

However, I am your wife.

"Don't you dare sling that garbage in my direction? Although you are now officially my wife, this is only a business partnership.

His voice was getting louder and on the verge of breaking. His knuckles had turned white, and his face was flushed with rage.

I am unable to comprehend. Yes, this has been planned, but I thought you had already consented.

There would be tears. Even if I held them back, any point would eventually reach a breaking point.

Just in case you didn't know, I never wanted to get married. All of it is against my will. We are unable to be a married couple.

"Please don't say that. I swear to do my best to be a nice wife to you. If you don't like my voice, I'll alter it. I'll attempt to speak louder.

What would happen if I told you that I detested every aspect of you?

I'll alter who I am for you.

My father always said that I shouldn't alter who I am in order to win someone's love because someone will love me just the way I am, but this situation was unique. My resolve was unwavering. I would have done anything to get us to work. That demonstrates to me how impolite and cheap you are.

I caved in and started crying. He was pounding on my heart. This was quite tense.

What is happening? Although we have never met, you appear to have a grudge against me.

"You simply had to enter my life at the perfect time when everything was lovely. You truly appear content with the current situation.

"Did I sabotage something dear to you?"

"Yes. You did, indeed! Because of you, I am currently unable to be with the love of my life. She is everything to me. my universe. She needed to stand with me at the altar. I wanted to make her my wife.

"You have a..."

"Yes, I have a girlfriend, and we are not breaking up. That woman is the only one who is qualified to be my wife.

My veins sprang with adrenaline. He had a second woman in his heart. It appears that this wasn't your typical romantic relationship. He was completely smitten with this woman.

Now sadness filled his gaze. His beautiful eyes were filled with a deep sadness and pain that I could see. My racing heart was mercilessly wounded by the realization that I was the source of this suffering.

He was on the verge of crying. I don't know why, but seeing him in such a dreadful state made me feel terribly saddened.

"She is stunning. She fulfills every requirement I have ever had for a woman. I cherish her. Looking at his trembling hands as if she were present, he admitted, "I am madly in love with her.

I was completely destroyed when I heard Valentino admit his love for another lady. It was obvious that I had no chance against him.

"What about me?" I croaked abruptly and immediately regretted what I had said.

I was obviously asking for criticism. He had already referred to me as cheap and disrespectful. What more could I ask for?

"To me, you are nobody. You are not at all my style. Even as friends, we can never be. Don't even try to make me forget I'm a person; just keep away from me.

He spoke with a lot of authority and command. They gave me the chills. The vehicle abruptly came to a stop. I suppose we were 'home'.

Valentino slammed the door in my tear-stained face as he exited the vehicle. The driver was gracious enough to unlock the door for me, and I followed Valentino , who was standing at the mansion entrance.

He stormed in after slamming the doors open. Running after him, I resembled a lost puppy—but puppies are cute. The tears that were streaming down my cheeks made me appear much worse.

After a protracted struggle with my excruciatingly long heels, I was finally inside. Valentino was already furiously stumbling upstairs.

A smooth, nectarine-sweet voice called out, "Val."

He appeared to be stopped in his tracks by that voice. I turned to the opulent living room where the lovely voice had originated because I was curious.

I was motionless due to shock. What I saw rendered me speechless. The woman remained there. Not just any plain Jack like me, but a captivating, breathtakingly beautiful woman.

She was dressed in a sensual long-sleeve bandage dress that flounced and elegantly highlighted her supple proportions.

She was a few inches taller than I was. Her eyes were a warm chocolate color, and mascara highlighted her fluttering eyelashes and sweet-looking face. Her facial characteristics were perfectly positioned on her face.

Her hair was well-kept and a beautiful shade of chestnut. Why did she seem so recognizable?

Valentino 's chest began to heave once more as he appeared to take a deep breath. My husband, in a different form, was hurrying down the stairs.

He was not the same individual I had spoken to in the automobile. He gave off a gentle, compassionate, and caring vibe. He kept his distance from the woman, whom I now believed to be his lover.

He didn't seem deserving enough to approach her. He appeared upset.

Caylee, I apologize. All of this is my fault. I ought to have spoken up for us.

"Caylee" I now recognize her. She was Alisa's closest companion. Obviously, I was losing this game.

Val, you're not to blame. I still adore you just as much as I always have, maybe even more, since I'm so in love with you.

Caylee herself had been sobbing. Her eyes were swollen and red, and it appeared like she would cry again soon.

I cherish you, Caylee. I have, and I always will. Nobody will stand in our way. Not even this "union," he reaffirmed to her.

Her cries disturbed him. I could tell that. He didn't appear the least bit concerned by my…

"Right now, all I need from you is one thing. I require confirmation that I still possess you. I must sense your proximity to me, honey, Caylee said.

Oh. My husband was just called honey by her.

Baby, anything. I'll do anything for you if you only say the word.

Say, "Kiss me."

Simple and uncomplicated. She had just requested a kiss from my spouse. I experienced total invisibility.

When he suddenly closed the distance between them by stroking towards her, my heart splintered into a million pieces.

His delicious-looking lips landed on Caylee's right away. My entire universe came crashing down.

In my own marriage, I just happened to be the other woman. It wasn't a filthy, ravenous, and obnoxious kiss. It was slow, intense, and flawless. Their lips were firmly pursed and moving in unison.

Valentino expertly wrapped Caylee's hands around his neck and held her securely in his arms around her decanter-shaped waist.

They had an intense relationship. They were skilled and had the experience. I had little experience. In terms of things of the heart, I was simply a regular person.

What the heck was I thinking? Someone like me would never be able to seduce him. He was much above my pay grade.

As the kiss heated up, Caylee encircled Valentino 's body with her tanned legs. It wasn't your typical, everyday kiss. It was exceptional. This billionaire was amazing in every way.

He took them both upstairs, likely to his bedroom. Please "enjoy your wedding night," as I say.

For me, he was too busy. He'd never show me any affection. I will never experience the love I desire.

I was left behind and had a party for myself. Crying has made my eyes hurt. The lovebirds had probably been listening to my incessant sniffing in the background.

I stumbled upstairs to my bedroom, where my luggage had been placed, because I was fatigued. I had to work really hard to succeed, but I did.

I fell to the ground and fell asleep right away. I was unable to take a

shower or change. I simply hoped that when I woke up the following morning, I would be laughing about how ridiculous and surreal everything had been.
