Chapter 4: Date and Angel in the Rain.

Rito checked his status the following morning after his workout and after meeting with Haruna once more.
He discovered that he had already reached 50 points for both jogging and dashing, and that he was also beginning to get the hang of his jogging rhythm.
It is very challenging to make this kind of improvement in such a short amount of time, and Rito was already aware that after just two to three days of practice, his physique was also becoming slightly stronger than it had been.
He could therefore, in a sense, tell that his abilities and system had allowed him to gain experience and improve his quality much more quickly than a typical person could.
"See you at the class then; I will have to go back home." Sairenji spoke while standing up from the bench and turning to smile at Rito.
"Yeah, bye then; see you later at school." Rito likewise nodded and said goodbye, indicating that he was considering returning home to prepare for school.
Another thing was that he had a date with Sairenji after school at a cafe that he had heard about from his sister and had discussed with other students.
He was considering taking Sairenji there for a date, but first he needed to check it out early because it typically opens up very early and has a good reputation in the neighborhood.
"I am back!" When Rito entered, Mikan had already finished preparing the lunch, and Rito could smell the food's aroma without becoming hungry.
"Wow! It looks delicious, Mikan! I will be there in a moment." After speaking, Rito ran to the bathroom and took a quick shower. When he returned to the dining area, he discovered Mikan had finished setting the table and was waiting for him.
"I knew you would be hungry after the run, so I had prepared the breakfast to be a little heavy and nutritious too."
Rito was forced to consider how he, as an older brother, has no face to talk in front of a sister like her because Mikan, as usual, had very mature thinking and was genuinely concerned for those in her family.
"Haha! Thank you, Mikan." As he ate the food, which was delicious and really suited his tastes, he could only grumble bitterly because he knew how hard Mikan had worked to prepare the food Rito would enjoy.
After finishing breakfast, he could not help but walk by her side as she was washing the dishes and pat her on the head, which surprised her and caused her to turn to face Rito as he made his way back to his room.
"Weird! Big brother..." She muttered to herself and shook her head. Rito looked at the old photograph of him and Mikan that he had placed on the desk and wiped it with the cloth as he walked back to his room to pack things.
'It has been a long time since I have gotten anything for her, but with the pocket money I have, there are very limited things I can buy.'
The idea of writing a light novel set in his world seemed more appealing to Rito as he considered his command of both English and Japanese. Not to mention, his skill level was not even at the maximum level of 4 and 2.
Rito considered waiting until they reached the maximum level 1 in a few weeks.

'Idiot!' Rito waited until his sister turned into the next alley and headed in the direction of her school before explaining how he came to earn the nickname "idiot" in her heart.
Mikan, however, had observed everything as Rito waited for her to turn before he started heading in the direction of his own school.
After coming back to class. When Kotegawa entered the room carrying a mountain, Rito took a seat, placed a book on the table, and then took another nap.
It was then that she happened to see Rito sitting on his seat and looking at him, at which point she almost ended up asking for help, but she held it back.
"Let me help then." Before she could react, he was in front of her, and Haruna appeared to have entered the classroom as well.
"Yuki-kun..." She murmured as she took in Kotegawa's presence and considered how little Rito had changed since then. Continuing to be kind as usual while helping those who require it.
"Let me help too; being three will be much easier."
"Sairenji-san, that would be better." Rito grinned in response to her presence and decided that now would be the ideal time to speak with her.
"Ahh! Oh, right, thank you!" As the three of them walked outside to arrange those books in their proper positions, they realized for the first time how flustered Kotegawa had become.
Rito discovered that Kotegawa's strictness was not only used to bind others but was also something she developed to do to herself while he was there and Kotegawa was also a friend of Sairenji. They had a long conversation and enjoyed talking with each other about the class.
After the classes were over, Rito was able to observe the improvements in the students' subject-matter knowledge and felt a little relieved to have made another step toward putting his plan into action.

As he had to pay close attention in English, he even spent his free time reading books about literature in the library.
Rito discovered that his command of the English language had significantly improved. After beginning to write, he began to realize the range of things he was capable of, and he wondered if he could begin to produce short stories in order to hone his craft.
After all, he could tell from the novel's summary that language was important, but the most important thing was to write in a way that allowed readers to identify with it and envision themselves in the circumstances.

"Yuki-kun." Finally, Rito discovered Haruna waiting for him as he left the school because it appeared that her club activity had ended. Hence, it was prime time for him to start his date plan and walk by her side with a smile on his face.

When Momioka and Sawada noticed that Rito and Haruna had left the area, they eventually emerged from hiding.
"Hmm! That sure was a date, right?" Sawada Mio asked Momioka Risa, who had been with her the entire time as they followed their best friend Haruna, who had been acting strangely since the morning, and wanted to know what was wrong with her. Mio had a twinkle in her eyes as she asked.
"It sure looked like that to me." Risa spoke with excitement as she shook her head and cast a glance in Haruna's general direction because she already had something to do. She therefore had plans to force Haruna Sairenji to divulge all of her secrets at the school the following day.
While Rito and Haruna were returning, unaware of the cheeky pair, they were grinning foolishly.
When the rain began to fall, Rito, who had anticipated it, pulled out his umbrella and made an effort to walk quickly back to their house.
"Ahh! This suck man." As he hurried back, Rito noticed that the rain was becoming heavier and that the road was beginning to fill with water. Rito made the decision to take a shortcut through the park, which was well lit by the light pole.
Rito unexpectedly came across a young woman seated on the swing who was pale, had a bitter expression on her face, and was still unsurely directing her gaze toward the road.
It seemed as though time stopped, and Rito's attention was drawn to the girl. Although she appeared to be silent, Rito knew from previous life experience that she was crying.
"Ahh! What kind of day is this?" Not knowing what to do, Rito felt that it would be bad if he were to disturb her in a moment like this, but he could also not leave her alone.
He then quietly sat down next to her, which caused her to turn to face him but only see a stern expression on her face, even though she did not object.
As Rito covered her head with his umbrella, he realized that half of his body was already wet, but as a man, he knew that now was not the time to abandon her in her current state.
"I don't need it!" The girl's voice was cold as she simply spoke to Rito, who only gave her a simple look and then thought for a moment and decided to give her the umbrella while speaking in a low tone, "Even if you are alone, please don't become weak enough to accept the kindness from others."
With those words said, Rito gave her a smile as he rushed away from that place without turning back to look at her, who sat there dumbfounded for a moment before thinking if she had seen that boy in her school or not.
When remembering how the kid's school uniform looked way too different from the one from her school.
'Busy body!' She eventually chuckled as she turned to face Rito, but she also felt a warm glow inside her chest as she realized that there are others in this society who are just like him.
"I am back...choo."
"Rito! Why are you soaked again? Did you forget your umbrella or something?"
"Haha! I am sorry, but I gave that umbrella to a girl on the way!"
"Hah! What the hell with that?"
"It is a long story! I will tell you after taking a bath!"
"Okay!"
Rito began to work more diligently on the literature as the night wore on because he had begun to hide all of his passive skills and had programmed the system to update them whenever it was possible. Rito finally got something, and he was looking forward to it.
Yes! He finally got a quest!
