Chapter 219: The Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One

After returning to his office and checking the time, Russell began his daily pastime: playing games.

Although he didn't have any other work to attend to at the moment, Diana hadn't finished her work either, and going back to his apartment wouldn't offer him much to do. So, he decided to stay in the office and enjoy some quality alone time.

As he focused on operating his game character for a perfect infiltration, No. 3's voice suddenly rang out.

"Sir, Stardust Charities has received a charitable donation of $100 million from Tony Stark."

Upon hearing No. 3's voice, Russell paused the game.

A charitable donation of $100 million?

Tony was indeed generous with his consultation fees!

Although Octopus Monster Industry current market value was not low, it hadn't gone public on the NASDAQ like other major companies. Since Tony didn't have his bank account, he chose to donate directly to Stardust Charities.

"Understood. Have May write a thank-you letter to him personally."

While $100 million was a substantial amount, it was just a number for Russell now. Ever since he had established a good working relationship with the military, he no longer needed to worry about money. Although the military didn't produce US dollars, they were excellent at moving them around. In any case, it was all taxpayer money, and the military spent it generously.

After giving instructions to No 3, Russell refocused his attention on the game. He had already set the game's difficulty to the highest level, but even so, it was still too easy for him.

After receiving the "The Marvelous Superman" reward, he had discovered something frustrating. If he didn't deliberately suppress his abilities, games that used to provide him with plenty of enjoyment had become unbearably simple.

For instance, games like where he used to occasionally throw his controller in frustration, he could now complete with his eyes closed.

Russell was starting to understand why Diana enjoyed the life of an ordinary person. It wasn't that the life of an average person was particularly exciting; it was that when you became exceptionally powerful, you needed these ordinary moments to maintain a sense of "humanity." Without such an "anchor," you would gradually come to view humans as insignificant, and lose your humanity.

In places like Asgard, this situation was much better. Asgardians had stronger bodies and abilities than Earthlings, so they didn't have to worry about accidentally sneezing or killing someone with a single careless move. However, on Earth, they had to be careful and control their powers.

While the enhancement of his powers had brought some unexpected troubles, Russell preferred his current state. Inconvenience was always better than powerlessness. He didn't want to experience the series of tragic events that could occur due to his weakness.

He stayed in the office until six o'clock, then put down the game controller and flew in the direction of the museum.

He had been eating dinner outside for the past few days, so today he decided to taste the flavor of home-cooked food.

After finishing work, Diana and Russell went to the supermarket like an ordinary couple to buy the ingredients they needed for dinner. If you ignored the onlookers, they appeared just like any other couple.

Just with a bit more charisma!

They bought groceries, cooked, enjoyed Diana's culinary skills, cleaned up the dishes, and played a game of chess. It was another wonderful day.

For the next three days, Russell continued this "ordinary" life. Peter adjusted to his new extraordinary abilities during his sparring sessions with the Hulk. Kara filmed her first solo movie, Gwen continued her life as Spider-Woman and a college student, and Godzilla and Grendel at the Underwater Temple continued to "get along" while welcoming visitors like Dr. Serizawa from the Monarch organization.

Except for some minor troubles that Bakshi encountered, which required White Zetsu's assistance, everything was going well.

After these uneventful three days, Russell finally arrived at 177A Bleecker Street, the location of the Sanctum Sanctorum.

The Sorcerer Supreme, Ancient One!

He was finally going to meet Ancient One.

At first glance, the Sanctum Sanctorum didn't seem strange at all; it appeared to be an ordinary building. However, as soon as Russell approached the Sanctum Sanctorum, he sensed that it was different.

Although he couldn't use magic, he could distinctly feel an extremely powerful force within the Sanctum Sanctorum. It wasn't magical perception but a pure instinctual sensation. A very powerful force indeed!

Without a doubt, the owner of this power was clear.

Approaching the entrance, he lightly knocked on the door. Then, he stepped back, waiting for a response from within.

"Come in!"

A voice of a woman, ageless and indistinct, sounded in his ear. Clearly, it was Ancient One's voice.

After receiving Ancient One's response, Russell pushed open the door and walked in.

The moment he set foot in the Sanctum Sanctorum, the scenery before him suddenly changed. He felt an inexplicable sensation of weightlessness.

This unexpected sensation lasted only for a moment. When it disappeared, Russell, who had just entered the Sanctum Sanctorum, found himself in the second-floor reception room.

Was this the power of magic?

Not bad!

Although Russell couldn't use magic, he was a transmigrator with the advantage of foresight. Leaving aside the various web novels he had read before his transmigration, just by observing his current surroundings, he could tell that he had just experienced a space shift through magical means.

"You're later than I expected," the Sorcerer Supreme, Ancient One, slowly approached him, dressed in a bright yellow sorcerer's robe.

"You didn't ask me to come at any specific time," Russell replied calmly.

Even though he was now face to face with one of Earth's unquestionable big shots, he wasn't particularly nervous.

He wasn't a saint, but he also wasn't one of those evil creatures that Ancient One had to eliminate.

"Please, have a seat. Tea or whiskey?" The Ancient One pointed to a chair nearby, holding a wooden fan in her hand.

"Whiskey, please," Russell replied calmly.

Soon after, he sat down. As soon as he did, a glass of whiskey appeared in his hand.

Although he possessed extraordinary perception far beyond that of an ordinary person, he couldn't figure out how the whiskey had appeared in his hand.

Looking at the glass in his hand, he started to find magic intriguing.

Even though he couldn't use magic for combat, he couldn't deny that magic was capable of performing many astonishing feats.

More importantly, it just looked so magical.

While Russell examined the glass in his hand, the Ancient One, seated across from him, shook the wooden fan and said slowly, "From the look on your face, you probably know who I am, right?"

"Yes, I do know who you are," Russell replied calmly.

"But I'm not entirely sure why you've sought me out, as I'm not on your list."

With that said, Russell took a sip of the whiskey in his glass.

It tasted pretty good!
