Chapter 14: Alpha

Following the plot might be boring, but I could not bring myself to ignore it.

At this point, it'd be stupid to tie myself down because of the plot, but my conscience could not just let it be. It might be because I am the protagonist or something, but I had to keep the story going.

After some thought, I came up with a simple solution.

Like the original world, I can combine the Sage's world (Argena) with other worlds.

The civilization on Argena was still in the medieval period with magic and swords and it was pretty easy to settle on a world that could keep things interesting and I could also get some benefits from it.

Thus, he summoned the world of 'Eminence in the Shadows'.

Combining the two would do a lot of harm than good but he honestly did not have much consideration for the genre or the common people.

It might sound heartless but that was the truth. The excitement of being a protagonist and all that had died down pretty fast.

His intelligence was also pretty high, and if he was honest, the knowledge he received from Tony Stark and the things he had seen with [Information Manipulation] made him grow a little.

There were things that existed in this world that would be the nightmare to devils and demons. How would weak humans survive?

Just the things that existed in the MCU verse were enough to destroy this solar system a hundred times over.

It was a good thing that he placed the MCU verse at the extreme end of the Fandom Multiverse and right next to it was the Death March Verse.

The world of Eminence in the Shadows came with some perks.

First, he gets a battle maniac who is somehow always at the right place at the right time with little need for brains.

Not that he is not intelligent, but his focus is entirely on combat and power. As long as he had something to fight, there was no way he'd waste his time plotting. His chuunibyou is so hardcore that he ignored all the hot babes that offered themselves to him.

But that might also be the reason they trusted him so much.

The second was that he got a well-organized group to keep things in order.

Shadow might have some loose bearings, but he trained and raised a pretty legit crew. The girls might have basically come to power on their own, but it was whatever.

Alpha was the scary one in this aspect. And that was who he was aiming for. The girl may be too smart for her own good but that also served to help him.

In exchange, he could give them resources that they'd never have otherwise. Imagine what those girls could do if they had proper guidebooks instead of vague memories from a battle nutcase.

And that is exactly what I did.

The two worlds blended seamlessly together and no one was the wiser. I even got new prey to hunt. The only infuriating thing is that there are too many bandits now. But that also gave me an opportunity to kill humans.

It might sound emo and shit, but the experience is totally different. The first time I did it, I felt like I lost some of my innocence.

But the guilt did not last long. These bandits were the worst and most brutal. [Blackheart] did not even sense any guilt in them with all the evil they were doing.

I might let misdeeds slide, but pure and unrestrained evil made me feel uncomfortable. At least beasts do it for survival. These guys were just doing it for the thrill of it. Such people could only meet my sword.

My chuunibyou is also starting to show.

Today I plan on meeting Alpha. I started the timeline after Cid went to school so by now, Shadow Garden would have grown to be a world superpower. That's how freaky Alpha is.

I was using [Assimilation] and [Invisibility] to st… *ahem* follow Alpha who was wearing a school uniform through the streets of the royal capital of Midgar.

Alpha is a young, slender, voluptuous, and beautiful female elf with long golden blond hair and blue eyes. Combining that with her current outfit, I wanted to follow a little more but it seems like that is not possible.

"Who is there?"

Talk about perception. She could feel my presence just from a stare. It was a good thing I was not trying to hide from her. But this also proved her abilities.

Coming from the shadows with my hands raised showing that I did not have any malicious intent.

"Hello, Alpha, Second in Command of Shadow Garden."

And I got a sword slash in response. The Slime Weapon is quite a wonder. I could feel her reinforce it with magic as she followed up with a diagonal slash but she missed this too.

This was not even a fight to me with [True Martial Artist] and [Weapon Mastery]. But since I wanted to talk, I could only use [Dodge] and reinforce the surrounding building to avoid damage.

Alpha was the second strongest in Shadow Garden for a reason. And now that she had gotten serious seeing that she was not landing a hit, the damage caused would be huge and draw unwanted attention if I let her destroy the building.

"You will never be able to touch me with your current strength. You are too precise in your attacks."

She did not say anything but I could feel her adapt after that comment.

'She's growing mid-battle? Interesting.'

"You are too focused on the sword. It is a weapon and so are your fists. Use them in tandem."

"Good. You have quite the physique so don't spend too much magic where just your body is enough. In your case, it is better to use the excess to reinforce your slime bodysuit to increase its defense."

[You have acquired the skill [Teach]]

[You have acquired the title [Instructor]]

I divide some of my attention to assign points to the skill [Teach] and now I can increase the learning speed of anyone I teach. They could also get my intent directly with a few words.

I watched as Alpha refined her fighting style with every comment I made and after 30 minutes, she had perfected her fighting style.

"Lastly, although your body is strong and you have huge mana pools and fine magic control, your nature does not agree with this type of forceful fighting style. It might be enough for weaker opponents, but once you meet someone stronger, it will only put you at a disadvantage. Like this."

Saying that I sidestepped and snatched the blade from her hand from the hilt and used her forward momentum to pull her into a reinforced wall.

Such a rough method with a delicate girl like this, but I am one for gender equality. She is already lucky that I did not consider her an enemy.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?"

"You can call me Yuuya and I want to make a deal with you on behalf of Shadow Garden."

"How do you know that I am part of Shadow Garden."

"Does that matter?"

"…"

"I have a pretty sweet offer for you. Mind some tea?"

I said as I made a small tea table and two chairs appear. A barrier covered us to prevent anyone from seeing us as I changed the scenery inside the barrier.

Talking in a dark alley made me feel like I was trying to force her into something unspeakable.

Alpha looked at all this in shock as she had never seen this type of magic.

"Don't think too much. Few people can do this."

"What do you want?"

Damn, she's too guarded. Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy the scenery sipping tea and talk about life?

"I have seen the things you've made from the knowledge you got from Shadow."

"You want to trade for them?"

"No, I want to give you more of that knowledge and in exchange, I want you and your organization to work for me."

"That's impossible. There is no way for you to have more knowledge than Shadow-sama. And even if you did, we would only work for Shadow-sama."

"…"

What the hell did that guy feed these girls? Alpha might be the most loyal, but she was also the most clear-headed.

I bet that if it were anyone else, they would have already tried to kill me for saying that I had something even Cid didn't have.

"How about I take you somewhere and you can decide afterward."

I gave her time to think about it as I did not want to make her feel forced. But in this situation, what option did she have?

"Ok."

With her agreeing, I teleported the both of us to the Sage's House in the forbidden forest. I could have brought her to Earth immediately, but it was better to let her adapt slowly.

Looking around, I could hear Alpha gasp after seeing the vegetables planted in the yard but I did not give her much time to look around.

I took her to the [Door to Another World] and led her to the other side.
