"I'm coming!" With a battle cry, Deku pressed his hands to the ground. Both his eyes and the green rays surrounding him emitted a strong glow as he flew at full speed toward Naruto.
"How fast!" Iida had to brace himself against the railing in his area when he witnessed his friend's incredible speed. Similar reactions unfolded among the other students, who struggled to believe what they were witnessing.
As for Naruto, his arms remained crossed as he leaned back, displaying his flexibility and reflexes to dodge Deku's kick, which soared over him. Regaining his stance, the shinobi tilted his head to the side to evade a punch aimed at his face. Without missing a beat, Midoriya unleashed a barrage of blows, but Naruto masterfully blocked each one with his legs.
"Too slow…" Naruto leaped into the air, executing a 360° turn and delivering a horizontal kick that forced his opponent to take cover. Deku barely managed to raise his arms in defense, absorbing the blow that sent him flying several meters before landing and rolling on the ground. "Is that all?" Naruto inquired lazily, arms still crossed.
"It's much faster than when I fought Yaoyorozu-san," Izuku pondered as he rose to his feet. Swallowing hard, he felt his arms quiver with pain from deflecting Naruto's kick. "Not yet…" With a more determined expression, he stepped forcefully and vanished in a burst of speed.
"Deku…" Bakugo's eyes blazed with anger as he watched the loser move at incredible speed. Clenching his fists, he continued sitting and observing the battle.
"It's incredible!" Ochako exclaimed with excitement, watching her friend dart across the track, leaving only flashes of green lightning. "Go, Deku-kun!" Her cries spurred her classmates to join in, echoing the sentiments of the spectators in the stands, who shouted in joy, supporting the freckled boy in his quest to defeat the shinobi.
Returning to Naruto, he remained in the center of the platform, calmly observing as Deku darted from one side to another. Raising his left leg, he intercepted a punch from his opponent, who continued to appear and disappear, launching attacks from various angles. Yet none of these blows found their mark, blocked by Naruto's legs as he maintained his crossed-arms stance and analytical expression.
"Ahhhhh!" Skidding across the battle arena, Izuku ran with all his strength. He extended his right arm, aiming to strike the back of his opponent's head and knock him out. However, all he managed was for the blonde teenager's leg to bury into the center of his stomach. "Ahg..." Emitting a low growl, Deku was sent flying backward, falling brutally. Despite the impact, he quickly staggered to his feet, only to face the Uzumaki's boot crashing into his face.
Blood trickled down from his nose as he was sent hurtling down the track. Dazed, he managed to slam his hands against the ground to prevent himself from leaving the platform. Breathing heavily, the freckled boy struggled to his feet, observing the still-calm shinobi with arms crossed. "It's my turn, don't you think?" Before he could respond, another kick struck his chin.
Launched into the air, the green-haired boy soared several meters before plummeting due to a downward kick from his opponent. He crashed against the platform with force. "Careful!" Deku barely heard Uraraka's shout and reflexively shifted to avoid being trampled by the falling shinobi.
As he stood up, the freckled teenager tried to defend himself from Naruto's relentless kicks. However, his defense crumbled as his arms couldn't endure the punishment. Defenseless, he was bombarded by the unrelenting kicks that rained down on his body. As seconds passed, Izuku struggled to remain on his feet. His arms displayed painful bruises, turning purple from the savage blows. His face bore the marks of the relentless assault, with swelling in several areas, causing his right eye to close.
"Apparently, that's enough?" Naruto inquired, still keeping his arms crossed. Before him stood his battered opponent, fighting to stay upright. Glancing at Midnight, he noted her tension, as well as Cementoss, who was in communication with her, likely discussing the situation.
"Midoriya Izuku can't continue, that's why he—"
"I can still do it!" Deku's forceful shout cut her off. The pro heroine hesitated as the boy spoke through bloodied lips and a broken nose, his defiant gaze unwavering. Seeing his determination to continue, she deferred to his will, allowing the battle to proceed.
"..." Raising an eyebrow, Naruto observed the boy's condition. Perhaps he had gone a bit too far with the force of his attacks. Yet he was impressed that Deku still remained on his feet. "Why didn't you use that mode in the first two stages? It would have been useful for you," he commented calmly as he walked slowly toward his battered opponent.
"Because…" somewhat dazed, the green-haired teenager dropped to his knees. Had he sustained so much damage from the Uzumaki's kicks in such a short time? There was no doubt that the shinobi was on a different level. "I promised myself that I would use this power for the first time in a one-on-one battle," he said while attempting to rise and take a defensive stance again.
"You're peculiar, Midoriya. Why do you desire victory so fervently?" The shinobi's frown deepened as he observed the green rays surrounding the boy growing brighter, with red marks appearing on his skin.
"Because I see you not only as my Sensei but also as my rival! And I don't plan to lose without giving it my all!" With a spirited shout, the boy leaped into action, shattering the ground beneath him and hurtling towards his opponent at full speed, activating his unique power at 100%.
"You still have a long journey ahead, child..." Naruto simply sidestepped, avoiding the incoming attack. However, as the boy reached his side, he struck the ground at a 30° angle, propelling himself toward the shinobi. With only one arm left to strike, he wasn't going to miss. "But not as long as I think." Naruto smiled, seeing the boy just meters away from delivering a point-blank blow.
"High!" Both Midnight and Cementoss saw that the situation was spiraling out of control. The heroine unleashed a purple mist, attempting to intervene, while the cement hero tried to erect a barrier to separate the adversaries.
"Smahsss!" With a battle cry, Izuku channeled his power to 100% into his right arm, charging directly at his opponent.
Aware of the imminent collision, Naruto extended his right arm, shrouded in an electric aura. Without hesitation, the shinobi crouched at the last second, evading the devastating blow from his opponent. He countered by delivering a powerful right-handed strike squarely to the teenager's stomach, causing him to feel his insides crumble. "Hitting harder won't ensure your victory, brat!" With that shout, Naruto buried his fist into the teenager's abdomen. The green rays around Izuku faded, and the red marks on his skin disappeared. An explosive shockwave followed, sending Izuku flying several meters until he crashed against the stadium wall, knocking him out of the battle arena.
"…"
Nobody knew what to say, nobody expected this fight, although the result was the same.
"Uzumaki Naruto is the winner!" was Midnight's shout as she pointed her whip at the blonde teenager who was in the middle of the platform. No one said anything and only the footsteps of the shinobi could be heard as he walked towards where his opponent had fallen and was lying on the ground. Once Naruto reached Deku he saw that he was still awake, but barely.
"I made you... use your arm" was just a whisper from Izuku who smiled as best he could, looking up he saw that the shinobi was in front of him, the latter with a huff took it like a sandbag and placed it on his shoulder.
"Midoriya... you're crazy" said the Uzumaki who took the boy to the infirmary since he had broken both his legs and both arms, but he was still smiling.
