Chapter 9: Newcomer Competition
Early in the morning, Noah woke up with the sound of Jeni's yelling. He woke up thinking about sleeping, but when he heard Jeni say that it was already 7.30am, he grabbed Jeni. Jeni, who was just about to leave, screamed out in fright at Noah's grab, and Noah spoke up at that moment, "Wait for me, I'll be down soon." With that, Noah quickly washed up and then went downstairs to have breakfast with his family.
After breakfast, Noah's parents reminded Noah that they needed to work late tonight and advised them not to play in dangerous places. Noah followed the same lead and told Jeni again in the same tone, which provoked an extra cosy atmosphere in the morning. After saying goodbye to his parents, Noah then walked to school with Jeni. On the way, Jeni asked Noah for some information about ghost hunters, and said that she would reach the level of ghost hunter next year to catch up with Noah. After hearing this, Noah rubbed Jenny's head and said that he would wait for her, but in his mind he was thinking that he had the Ghost Hunter System and upgraded faster than the average person, so if you want to catch up with me, it's a little bit more difficult to do so. From time to time, Noah also let out snickers, which led to passersby nearby or passing by giving the two of them strange looks. Jeni also opened her mouth when she saw this and called out, "Brother, why are you snickering like that, it's weird." After noticing that he had lost his cool, Noah also instantly restrained himself.
Since he had already applied for a holiday, Noah didn't need to wear his school uniform to enter the school. Noah also experienced the feeling of a graduate returning to his mother school. After arriving at the school building, Noah indicated to Jeni that he would go to the office to meet the teacher, urging Jeni to have a good time in class and to remember to call him if she encountered anything. Jeni nodded her head in understanding and walked to her classroom for her lesson.
Noah walked into the office and was greeted by his class teacher, with an older man sitting in the main seat beside her. Noah didn't have to think much to know that the old man was the headmaster of his school. Noah then walked up to the two of them and greeted them in turn. The headmaster smiled at Noah and said, ''Noah, I have read your profile and you have applied for a holiday to prepare for the school test. Now I want to see how your strength has grown first." Noah smiled and understood that the headmaster wanted to see if his strength matched his expectations first. If it did not match then he would withdraw his application, if it did then it was unknown, at least he should be able to continue his holiday.
Noah also released all his power pressure under the eyes of the two. The books on the table, the fish in the aquarium, and the lamps on the ceiling all shook slightly under the pressure of the Senior Ghost Hunting Apprentice released by Noah. The class teacher and the headmaster were first stunned, then they also switched on their own silver ranked ghost hunters power to protect the office.
Noah walked past both of them and went straight to the testing machine and punched it. The machine's display spiked until it passed 1000 and reached 1087 before stopping. The two persons in the office were also shocked once again, this had reached the limit of Ghost Hunter Apprentice, if there was a advancement star core then Noah would be able to reach Bronze Rank Ghost Hunter at any time.
The look on the headmaster's face after being shocked had clearly told Noah that he had met or even exceeded the expectations of the headmaster's. With that, the headmaster told Noah the purpose of calling him here today. The annual Newcomer Competition had officially begun, and the purpose of the Newcomer Competition was to allow the students in the school to demonstrate their strength and gain more benefits. The headmaster also told Noah that as long as he won the top three places, he would be able to obtain a star core for advancement. It was because advancement star cores were rarely sold on the market, and were usually held by the world government and top guilds or teams, that's why Noah tried his best to think back on how to get it to advance to the Bronze Rank Ghost Hunter.
Originally, Noah had planned to enter some guilds or teams that had the star cores for advancement, but now he knew that there was a tournament where he could obtain it, so Noah didn't have to waste so much time. The headmaster spoke after seeing Noah's shocked expression, "The main candidate for this newcomer tournament was still lacking one person, but your presence has been able to fill the gap." Noah then learnt a lot of information about the newcomer tournament as well. For example, there were a total of three seats in the school to participate, the rank can not exceed the Ghost Hunting Apprentice as well as some other information about the place or time. Noah also agreed to the headmaster with alacrity after that.
Once he was done with the other things, Noah walked to Jeni's class intending to sneak a peek at Jeni's study situation. But unfortunately, this time, when Noah was about to reveal his head to check, Jeni was already standing in front of him looking at Noah. Jeni also then spoke, "Brother, what are you doing here." Noah saw that the matter was getting out of hand as well as Jeni's state of being in class before replying, "Nothing, just came to visit my previous classroom nostalgically, I didn't realise that you, Jeni, were also in class here." But unbeknownst to him, the other students also said, "Our classroom building was just built this year, are you looking for the wrong one?" Jeni also blushed slightly and told Noah not to disturb her class and to pick her up from school when it was over. Noah also agreed, and then left the school under the push and shove of Jeni.
Noah looked at the time, there were still six hours to go before he came to pick Jeni up from school, so now he should start by finding some place with a high concentration of mana as well as a high density. So that he could train faster after advancing to Bronze Rank Ghost Hunter afterwards.
