Chapter 11: The Betrayer
After enjoying their dinner, Ellie also had the good sense to help Noah and Jeni with the bill. Noah wasn't surprised, and then he took Jeni and started walking around the mall. On the way shopping, Jeni had her eye on a dress, but due to the price, she kept mouthing off and her hand kept pushing Noah away.
Noah couldn't hold back Jenny, and then the two of them bought the materials that her mother needed. By the way, they also bought two cups of ice cream and ate them. Jeni happily ate a cup of ice cream with three flavours, and suddenly she opened her mouth and said, " Bro, when you just stopped that sister from talking, does that prove that you're making all this money dangerously?"
Noah smiled and replied, "It's not dangerous, I'll earn more money to buy your happy smiles, and Dad's and Mum's too." It was indeed not dangerous, but Jeni didn't ask if it was before or after. Jeni also started giggling at the ice cream in her hand. After that Noah made an excuse to go to the toilet and leave Jeni, then using his agility which was almost a thousand, he rushed to the shop where he had just been to buy the dress that Jeni kept saying she didn't like just now.
Just as Noah returned to the place where he and Jeni were eating ice cream with the dress, he saw Jeni being surrounded by a few strong men. One of them kept inviting Jeni to have dinner with them, but Jeni just coldly refused them. Seeing Jeni's persistent refusal, one of the guy grabbed Jeni's wrist with his hand, ready to pull her. The anger on Noah's face was instantly ignited and he walked straight forward. An icy sting grew within the insides of the punks, and they turned around to see Noah walking forward with a stern face, one step at a time. Jeni also shook them off with force and ran behind Noah once she saw that the person coming was Noah. Noah looked at Jeni, who was a little scared by them, and coldly said get lost. It took them a while to see Noah's strength, not to say it was particularly strong, but it was still very easy to solve them.
Noah pulled Jeni back to where she had just eaten her ice cream and whispered, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left just now." He then took out the dress he had just purchased and gave it to Jeni. Jeni saw that it was a dress she liked but was on the expensive side and then also whispered, "I'll tell Mum later that you spent money frivolously, hahaha." Noah was also quite relieved to hear that, at least Jeni was happy now.
Afterwards, the two of them went inside the restaurant and packed a few portions of food to go home. When they got home, Noah told Jeni that he needed to take a shower, and then he jumped out the window and left the house. He thought back to the guys who had just bullied Jeni, and the anger he had hidden inside of him was still unquenched. He unleashed his senses centred on the place where he had just eaten ice cream with Jeni. He eventually found them in a basement, along with a few others.
Noah shielded his own aura, which made his presence less noticeable to those weaker than him, or even those of the same rank as him. In other words, even if Noah was standing behind them at the moment, they wouldn't be able to detect Noah standing behind them. Noah entered the basement using the several hidden passages that he had discovered through his senses. After entering, he first found many ghosts and monsters' remains and some human blood inside. After going further, he also saw people trapped inside iron cages unable to come out. The guys who had just grabbed Jeni's hand also spoke up, "Boss, it's a pity that we didn't catch the girl back just now, or else if you were to see it, you'd be afraid that you wouldn't be able to stand it." After the middle-aged man he called Boss whispered oh, he sat on the main seat and looked at some envelopes.
When Noah heard that, his anger was forced down, he picked up his mobile phone and used SMS to contact the police force. After getting that he would be there in five minutes, Noah smiled back, then picked up the sword that the system had sent him and walked behind the guy who had just spoken with a slight. A round head then slid down in front of several other people. Noah also didn't intend to hold back, killing the guys who had just surrounded Jeni in succession at a very fast speed.
The middle-aged man sitting on the main seat, clapped his hands and said, "The girl they were talking about just now should be someone you attach importance to, otherwise there would be no need to kill them. But you killed my men, so it's necessary for me to kill you too, right?" After saying that, he rushed to Noah, who used his fists to defend himself. Then he said, "You smuggled in ghost and monster corpses and kidnapped innocent people, this incident is enough for me to kill you." The middle-aged man was unmoved, when he had just struck Noah, it was clear to him that the boy in front of him was equal in strength to him. Understanding that he could only use his full strength to have a chance of getting out of here, he proceeded to roar in anger at Noah's gaze, and one of his hands grew larger. Eventually, he turned into a human with some of the features of the ghosts and monsters.
He is called "The Betrayer" in his own words. They made a deal with the ghosts in the outside world to have the characteristics of the ghosts, but used their human identity to provide the ghosts with all kinds of information. Noah understood that it wasn't for no reason that the ghosts and monsters had the upper hand on the current battlefield, it was because of these betrayers. Noah remembered the experience of his previous life, his eyes were covered with red lines of blood, he picked up his sword and rushed straight to his face ready to fight.
