Chapter 2: Chapter 1 : Go big or go home.
Third person point of view
Cecil was feeling so nervous it was nauseating. He kept letting out short breaths through his mouth to steady his breath. His vision felt a bit blurry. He closed his eyes and opened them. His sight became clearer. He looked around and saw his father shaking hands with someone. He focused his gaze on them.
It was Aaron Knight, the business tycoon. With the flick of a finger he could turn the stocks upside down is what Cecil heard about him. He observed him for a few seconds as he talked with his father. He knew someone like that was definitely very busy. But he actually made time to attend this wedding.
He wondered if there was something to it. Cecil then noticed another man approach Aaron. It was the bride's father and he was a minister. Cecil then understood the reason. Two big shots sent invitations so he was probably obliged to show up. Aaron looked up suddenly and their eyes met. Cecil's eyes went wide.
Even his father turned to him after seeing Aaron looking at him. His father was probably introducing him. Aaron nodded and his eyes drifted to Cecil again. There wasn't a smile but he looked polite. He gave a nod which Cecil returned. Cecil quickly averted his eyes. In that few seconds he forgot about this situation.
And when the priest walked in, all of them went to stand on the sides and settled down. The priest then announced the arrival of the bride. Cecil felt his pulse picking up pace again. He could feel his back break out in cold sweat. The wheels in his brain were turning at full speed and he licked his lips which felt dry.
Everything passed in a daze in front of his eyes. He heard the priest clear his throat. " Huh ? " He looked at the priest in confusion. He then looked at the bride. She was looking at him, puzzled. Cecil glanced to the side to see his brother. " Say it ". His brother whispered. Everyone was waiting for him to say 'I do' and take the vows and continue the ceremony.
He gulped and looked around again. He felt his palms turn sweaty and wiped them on his pant. " Sorry ". He said in a whisper to the bride and took a step back. She frowned, clueless. Cecil went to his brother and took the ring from him. Everyone was shocked and watched as Cecil walked down from there.
Aaron was watching till the vows but then was immersed in his phone. His assistant was talking about work and he didn't focus on the surroundings anymore. He heard gasps and whispers which went up in volume. He put his phone away and as soon as he looked up, Cecil was in front of him. He raised an eyebrow.
Cecil decided to go big or go home. He took Aaron's hand and put the ring on his finger. Aaron had nice slender fingers but the size difference was evident. The ring didn't go in completely. Cecil left it at that and moved closer. He held Aaron's face, stood on his tiptoes and kissed him on the lips.
Aaron who was totally unprepared for this turn of events, was thrown off. He stared with big eyes not reacting at all. Cecil pulled away and he met Aaron's eyes which had mixed emotions. He bit his lip averting his eyes. That was one bold way of calling off his own wedding. He was done for. The crowd froze and then everyone started talking about it.
It was a good thing they didn't invite press. It would've been a disaster. Cecil stood in front of Aaron who looked like he was on a roller coaster of emotions. This was probably the only moment in his life where he really didn't know what to do. He was utterly dumbfounded. Cecil heard his father scream his name at the top of his lungs.
" CECIL ! " Cecil flinched. He turned to look at his father who was approaching him. He quickly went and hid behind Aaron. His father couldn't say anything when he saw Aaron's face. " Come here ". He said but Cecil went to hide behind Aaron. He peeked from the other side and saw Ethan, his elder brother chuckling silently.
His wife, Lara hit him on the arm and pushed him to go stop his father. Ethan walked up to them. " Dad, don't get mad ". " How do you expect me to stay calm ? " His father yelled back. Ethan let out a sigh. Cecil peeked again. Aaron could feel Cecil's hands trembling a little. They were clutching onto his coat in the back like his life depended on it.
His father was about to speak but Aaron beat him to it. " Before that, can I have a talk with him first ? " Aaron spoke up and all of them went quiet. Cecil's father turned to him and looked down. He let out a huff and gave a nod. Aaron glanced sideways at Cecil. Cecil looked up at Aaron with trembling eyes.
Aaron took Cecil's hand which was holding his coat and pulled him out of the hall. They went to the groom's changing room. Aaron locked the door and turned to Cecil. Cecil was still looking down. Aaron rubbed his forehead and let out a long breath. " What is this ? " He asked without yelling and his voice was eerily calm.
Cecil was still shaking a little. He put his hands together squeezing them in nervousness. This wedding was against his wish. He told his father that he wouldn't do it. But his father went ahead and arranged it. He wanted to get a little bit of the minister's favor and the minister also wanted a strong backing. So this wedding was taking place.
He only met her once and he didn't even remember anything about her properly. Not even her name. " So I just... " Cecil explained in a small voice and his voice died at the end. Aaron ground his teeth not wanting to snap. It felt as if Cecil would faint if he raised his voice at him. He was already paler than when he first saw him.
" Can you please help me ? " Cecil asked batting his eyelashes and Aaron frowned. " Why would I ? " " We are married ". Cecil said with an innocent expression. Aaron looked down at his hand. Cecil continued speaking. " We are almost done with it. The only thing left is me having a ring. So we can be considered married right ? So please help me ".
Aaron laughed in anger. " Do you hear yourself ? " Aaron asked and Cecil looked down. " My father will most likely disown me. He might as well beat me to death. Fine. I will just die then ". Aaron's jaw dropped at Cecil's victim card. " Are you trying to get me to help you with emotional blackmail ? " Cecil shook his head looking pitiful.
" I just said what is going to happen now. I am as good as dead ". Aaron blinked with his mouth agape. He gave a scoff. He looked around trying to not lose his cool. " You should've used that smart mouth of yours with your father and cancel this wedding ". Aaron said through clenched teeth with his hands on his hips.
Cecil just looked at the floor looking sad. Aaron let out a long sigh. Both of them stood there in silence for a few seconds. Cecil glanced at Aaron before looking down again. " So... you will help me or not ? " " What is in it for me to help you ? " Aaron asked in a sharp tone. Cecil pointed at Aaron's finger which had the ring.
" Marriage ? " Aaron asked and Cecil nodded rather enthusiastically. Aaron was done. He was starting to feel tired. He shook his head. " Leave it. This is not happening. Let's go back. Everything is ruined away. They will definitely not continue the ceremony ". Aaron said walking to the door but Cecil didn't move. Aaron frowned and turned back. " Why ? "
" Can you say something to my father ? " Aaron looked at Cecil who finally looked up at him. Cecil's eyes were looking watery and his overall stance made him look like a small animal trembling in rain. Aaron gulped feeling his head throb. Even his heart was shaken. He looked away, contemplating.
At the end, he nodded and they walked out. The wedding was kind of a secret to begin with. So nothing would go out as long as they silently clear things up. The both of them went back to the hall. Aaron stood in front of Cecil's father. " Please take your time and decide. I will be willing to comply to what you think ". Cecil's father nodded.
Cecil went and hid behind Lara. Since the whole spectacle was over, the two sides sent all the guests away after telling them to keep this matter between the four walls. They were all family and good friends, so they agreed and consoled them. They made sure to talk to the staff of the venue and silenced them too. At the end, they all also went back home on their ways.

MScPhysics Hello once again. Both of our main leads are already introduced. And I guess you guys understand a little about them. And it is indeed quite a surprise for the first chapter. And Aaron had a nice shock I should say. Man was too stunned to speak.
Aaron : ( laser eyes ) You did this on purpose, didn't you ?
Author : ( dumbfounded ) .......... no ?
Aaron : ( deadpan face ) Then why all of this ?
