Chapter 24: Chapter 19

As Eden stepped into his house, Asia in her nun outfit was there to greet him. "How was your day, Eden?" he patted Asia's head and replied, "It was great." As they walked into the living room, he asked Asia, "Are you ready for school tomorrow?" Hisato had taken care of all the necessary steps to enroll Asia in his school.

"Yes, thank you for helping, Eden. This will be the first time I'm with other people my age."

"It's fine. It's good for you to receive a mundane education. So, what have you done today?"

"I practiced cooking and dagger fighting in simulations, and I read those books you recommended on Medicine, Animacy, Light Magic, and Abjuration."

"That's good. Even when you're at school, you should continue studying magic and combat. We live in a dangerous world, even if most people are unaware of it."

"That's true, Eden. God gave me this talent to protect them." She clenched her fists in a show of determination, which Eden found cute.

Eden headed to the garden to take an introductory picture for Instalife. His courtyard was adorned with lush flowers of various colors, shapes, and sizes, imported from every corner of the world. A large water fountain graced the center of the garden, as in all great courtyards.

"Asia, can you take a picture for me?"

"Yeah, I think I can." Eden was still in his uniform, so he stepped into a nearby bathroom and changed into some casual clothing he had in his inventory. It was quite simple, but he thought it would work for his first post.

"Okay, Asia, I'm ready." He sat on the ledge of the fountain as Asia took multiple pictures of him. After a while, he got his phone back. To decide which picture to post, he sent them to the girls' group chat.

Eden: Which one of these pictures should I use for my first post? Images attached.

Yukina: Where even are you?

Eden: I'm at home. Why?

Reina: You have a flower garden in your house?

Eden: Mansion. It's a mansion.

Ruri: Guys, don't be surprised. Golden Leaf is like one of the top five companies in the world.

Eden: Enough about that. Which picture should I use?

After some back and forth, they decided on using the third picture. Now, he needed a caption, and he settled for a simple "Hello, World." After posting it, he told Asia that he was going to run a dungeon and then do some research on magic in the library.

He teleported into a dungeon room and looked at the panel before being greeted with something new. "New Resident detected, new type of dungeon being prepared: Raid Dungeon. Requirements: 10-40 participants, 100,000 RC (More RC put in, better loot)." Eden hadn't realized that things in the mansion could change based on the number of people living there. Unlocking more possibilities with a larger group intrigued him. He knew he couldn't initiate a raid himself, but every time he unlocked something, he had a chance for a bonus. He read further, "If first Raid completed within one week, 1 guaranteed Broken Gate Key, 5 guaranteed Artifacts."

Eden understood what an Artifact was, having acquired many, but he used the Mansion system to understand the concept of a Broken Gate Key. It was a key that opened a gate to a random different universe, but it could only be used once to go there and once to return. Additionally, instead of transporting ten people, it could only accommodate five. The idea fascinated him, especially considering the gate's room capability to traverse different universes.

He pondered over the information. To use the Gate room after acquiring it, he needed a key, The cost was steep, and Eden wanted it badly. However, he was unsure how to gather enough people for this venture. He considered asking Rias and Sona, given their peerages, But the thought of what they would ask for in return was troublesome.

Feeling uncertain, he decided to cast a spell he rarely used, Path to Victory. Unlike Fated Revelations, this spell was gentler on his mind, so he proceeded without applying any buffs. "Maiden of Fate, Paver of the Countless Roads, and Seer of all things. Show me the path to tread, show me the sights I should see to be ever victorious in your name." After thinking about his desire, he completed the chant with {Path to Victory}.

The spell didn't cause him to pass out, but it did give him a splitting headache. The spell laid out a simple yet effective plan to resolve his current dilemma and prevent similar issues in the future. Although the plan wasn't overly complex, Eden acknowledged that he wouldn't have devised it on his own, considering his limited knowledge of devil society and his inability to see far into the future without the spell's assistance.

The first step was to arrange a meeting with Rias through Akeno for tomorrow.
