Chapter 4: What are you?
It seemed as though the atmosphere of the entire planet was at a boiling point, so powerful were the two Highlords facing each other.
Indignant, self-righteous wrath thundered outwards from Red Dragon Highlord Ren, while an endlessly deep aura of hatred and anguish rolled out from Demon Highlord Kitiara.
"HellFire Apocalypse." Red Dragon Highlord Ren was the first to break the stand off and his powerful energy shot up into the clouds and into the ground, unleashing an inferno which covered the sky and a huge expanse of land around Demon Highlord Kitiara.
The demons caught within the apocalypse shimmered for a quick second before disappearing completely in a massive cloud of burnt ash.
It was so incredibly hot within that HellFire Apocalypse that even Demon Highlord Kitiara grimaced slightly. Her horrific purple runes glowed brightly as their defensive functions were stretched to the limit to keep the fatal heat at bay.
"Requiem of Agony." Demon Highlord Kitiara whispered in retaliation. Instantly, every single dragon warrior in a straight line from her to Red Dragon Highlord Ren threw themselves off the walls!
Crack! BAM!
They fell wordlessly, with only the sound of their bodies impacting the ground and their bones splintering ringing out a split second later.
The powerful spiritual attack eroded their willingness to live, and caused them to take the easiest way out of their agony - death.
GROAARRR!!!!!
Red Dragon Highlord Ren roared out furiously, allowing his anger to naturally counteract the fearsome spiritual attack. He spread his wings out and leapt forward to charge at Demon Highlord Kitiara!
"Highlords! Attack her!" Red Dragon Highlord Ren shouted before unleashing a fiery dragon breath at Demon Highlord Kitiara.
The Blue, Green and White Dragon Highlords instantly took flight at Red Dragon Highlord Ren's command and they too unleashed their respective dragon breaths at Demon Highlord Kitiara.
Blue Lightning, Green Toxin and White Ice slammed onto Demon Highlord Kitiara with unerring accuracy and destructive force.
As powerful as Demon Highlord Kitiara's defensive runes were, they were completely no match against four powerful dragon breaths.
Crack!
The four attacks broke through and struck her ruthlessly.
Or so, I thought initially.
The four fearsome dragon breaths stopped as abruptly as they had begun, revealing a slightly hurt but otherwise completely unharmed Demon Highlord Kitiara.
"Hehehe." Her bloodied lips curled up into a beautiful smile as she held up four newly cracked amulets.
Red, Blue, Green and White silhouettes began to form behind her as the four imperious Dragon Highlords stared in horror at the amulets. Having seen one steal the soul of their brother mere minutes ago, they knew that they were doomed.
"NO! NOOO! I DO NOT ACCE-" Red Dragon Highlord Ren's scream of horror was cut short as the four insidious amulets completed their demonic work.
"Using only your physical bodies, kill every single dragon in this fortress." Demon Highlord Kitiara ordered them softly.
"As you command, highlord." Came the four monotone responses from the Dragon Highlords before they dove into their warriors and started killing them.
Utter pandemonium instantly erupted as loyal retainers stuck by their highlords to defend them against the tens of thousands other dragons who quickly sought to kill their maddened leaders.
As they fought, the endless waves of the demon horde charged into the fifty walls and quickly swarmed the dragons fighting on them.
Flesh, blood, armor, and body parts soon flew in every single direction amid hail, lightning, fire and all sorts of elemental attacks flying this way and that way. There was no longer any way to determine who was friend and who was foe.
The battle was as good as over.
Demon Highlord Kitiara floated past the chaos and made her way into the Royal Hall where her Father and Mother spent most of their time administering the Empire.
Completely unbidden, my spirit form floated towards her and followed her into the hall.
As we entered the grand entrance, the aura of sorrow around Demon Highlord Kitiara became suffocatingly thick.
I could see her luminous eyes well up with tears, and her lips tightened as she struggled to keep her emotions in.
But it was one battle the Demon God did not equip her to win.
"Her relationship with her parents must be incredibly strong for her to react this way." I couldn't help but think.
The final bastion of her emotional fortress collapsed as soon as she reached the twin Dragon Thrones at the very head of the Royal Hall.
"Father…" she sobbed, crumpling before the lead throne in anguish.
"Your useless child has returned.. I.. I am sorry I took so long.. I have avenged you. The blood traitors are under my control, and they are sending the other dragons to meet you now..
What else can I do for you..?? Are you happy where you are..? Are you proud of me? Tell me that you're proud of me!! Dad!!"
It was a heart breaking scene, no less agonizing than my own death.
"I… I am all grown up now, dad. You don't have to worry about me. I will be well… I will be well… Are you at peace? Please tell me you're at peace… PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE AT PEACE!!! Dad… Mom… GAAAHHHH!!!"
Like a twig finally breaking in a storm of heartache, Princess Kitiara finally snapped.
KABOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
An unimaginably gargantuan explosion erupted from her.
Like the setting off of a nuclear bomb, it instantly disintegrated the massive fortress along with the thousands of demons and dragons still fighting outside.
It did not end there.
The powerful explosion continued to ripple outwards, devouring the billions of demons still charging towards the fortress.
The destructive energies quickly reached the four portals and even made their way into it, killing even more demons within.
A massive tsunami of spiritual wisps, this time with many much bigger than the others, surged endlessly into me.
Ecstasy! Painful ecstasy!
My spirit doubled in strength, then doubled again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again for many, many times!
By the time it ended, I was a completely different being than when I first entered the Black Dragon World. It was an incredible experience, one which was impossible without that world-ending explosion.
"With this… I might just be able to gain enough strength to return to my family back on earth… And to exact revenge!" I couldn't help but think. Still, I knew that the road was extremely long, and I had barely even begun.
I looked at Demon Highlord Kitiara and her handiwork in awesome wonder.
One moment she was there crying on the throne, the next moment there was nothing but barren land for many kilometers around.
If I was shocked by the explosion before, I was stunned at that moment as my eyes devoured the incredible image I was beholding.
Demon Highlord Kitiara stood on the empty ground, completely naked.
Her presence amid the destruction was like the shining of a light in an ocean of darkness, a beautiful rose in the midst of death and decay. Her eyes of liquid amber were like sorrow itself, and they possessed a magnetic force of attraction for me, commanding my rebellious attention which was at that moment, extremely reluctant to leave the rest of her godlike body.
Two perfectly sculpted breasts stood proudly on her slender body, contrasting beautifully with her flat tummy which flowed erotically into her virgin depths.
And if I was stunned at that moment, words fail to describe the utter shock I felt in the next moment.
"You. What are you?" Kitiara said in a melodious voice while looking directly at me.
"H-huh???"
