Chapter 5: Qing'er

Qing'er's eyes widened with concern as she knelt beside him, her steady hands helping him sit up. "Young Master, are you all right? What happened?"

Zhou Yuan took a few deep breaths, beads of sweat glistening on his forehead. "It was another eruption of the Extreme Yin Bone-Chilling Poison," he muttered, his voice trembling with both frustration and relief. "It's been happening more frequently lately."

Qing'er's brows furrowed with worry. She knew the gravity of his condition and how precarious his life had become due to the poison that coursed through his veins.

"We need to find a permanent solution, Young Master. The Harmony Frostfire Elixir can only do so much to alleviate the symptoms."

Zhou Yuan nodded in agreement with Qing'er's assessment. He understood all too well that relying solely on the Harmony Frostfire Elixir to manage his condition was not a sustainable solution. It merely provided temporary relief and didn't address the root cause of his ailment.

"I know, Qing'er," he replied with a determined look in his eyes. "But completely curing this damn poison is not that easy."

Zhou Yuan's voice quivered with frustration as he continued to share the painful reality of his condition with Qing'er. "You see, Qing'er, the Extreme Yin Bone-Chilling Poison is unlike any other poison. It's insidious, cunning, and resilient. The clan elders have tried everything, but it's as if it's a sentient force determined to devour me from the inside out."

Qing'er listened intently, her eyes filled with empathy and concern. She had witnessed the agony that the poison inflicted on Zhou Yuan, and it tore at her heart to see him suffer.

Zhou Yuan's gaze turned distant as he recounted the torment of the past three years. "It's true that my unique physique allowed me to survive that initial exposure, but it came at a cost. The poison has spread to every cell in my body, intertwining with my very essence. It's as if it's become a part of me, and any attempt to remove it risks my life."

He paused, the memories of those near-death experiences vivid in his mind. "There were moments when I thought I couldn't bear it any longer, Qing'er. The pain, the despair... But I made a promise to myself that I would endure, no matter what, because there's still so much I want to achieve in this world."

Qing'er's eyes shimmered with tears that she fought to hold back. She had stood by Zhou Yuan's side through the darkest of times, and she admired his unwavering determination and resilience.

"Your will is truly remarkable, Young Master," she whispered, her voice filled with admiration and unwavering support. "I believe you will find a way to overcome this poison, no matter how long it takes. Your dreams and ambitions are worth fighting for."

Zhou Yuan managed a weak smile, touched by her words. What neither Qing'er nor anyone in the Zhou Clan knew was that Zhou Yuan had already found a way to cure himself. However, whether or not he could survive was doubtful at best.

"If anyone knew my plan," he mused quietly, "calling me insane would be an understatement."
