Chapter 12: One month later

Jujutsu High, Tokyo. Japan...

One month later....

The midday sun cascaded onto the beautiful scenery within the school, creating a wonderful and refreshing scene that was amazingly calming and soothing to the soul.

On a small training ground in the middle of the school, several students could be seen sparring with one another, accompanied by the cacophonous clanging of weapons that reverberated across the entire field.

*CLANG!*

In a heated spar between a handsome dark haired youth and a beautiful young woman, dressed in standard Jujutsu uniforms, the young woman was suddenly thrown back by an immense force from their earlier collision.

Looking at the katana in her hand that had shattered she sighed and flung it away.

"Oi, Makoto, can't even go easy on a beauty young girl like me? You're no fun..." The blonde haired young woman flashed a grin before she began weaving complex and intricate hand seals.

"You want to get serious? Try not to get hurt Akira.."

Sensing the sudden jerk of cursed energy within the body of the young woman, the youth smiled and began to weave his own hand seals as well, as an unusually powerful cursed energy burst out of his body.

.

A few meters away from the training field, a two figures sat, bathing in the warm glow of the sunshine, with bored and lazy expressions on their face.

"Oi Kenshin, what's for dinner today?" One youth with shaggy blonde hair asked with droopy eyes while looking at the handsome blue haired youth who had tied a bandana on his forehead adding a sort of bad boy charm to his already heavenly looks.

"I ain't feeding you tonight! Fucking leech!" He immediately cursed out in annoyance, before he rubbed his forehead in exhaustion.

Who knew school days could be so stressful and annoying?

Spending hours in class listening to the incessant chatterbox, Mishima sensei talk about how glorious the Jujutsu Era was in the past was extremely suffocating for someone like Kenshin who had spent majority of his childhood constantly on the move, and always in action.

'I never thought I'd say this, but I miss the old days, when it was just fun and bloodshed..'

He grinned murderously, before he plucked a stall from a leaf and placed it in his mouth. At the very least, over the past month, after countless days of annoyance and pestering, his relationship with Hiroshi, the droopy eyed shaggy blonde haired youth had improved for the better.

Although on the surface it seemed like Kenshin hated being with him, deep down he sympathized with him, since they were somewhat alike. Both of them being orphans to Jujutsu parents who died mysteriously.

"Come on man. You know ain't getting no allowance from that bloody clan until next month!" Hiroshi sighed and raised his droopy eyes to the sky, gazing at the frolicking clouds.

"Fine, dinner's on me tonight, if only you're willing to cook.." Kenshin grinned evilly in his mind. "Fine then. I guess I'll just be hungry till tomorrow.."

Hiroshi retorted and closed his eyes to sleep. Cooking had always been stressful for him, and apart from Mishima sensei himself the very thing he hated the most was stress.

"You won't cook even if you're going to die of hunger? I thought you were lazy before, but now you're just an idiot."

Kenshin fired back with piercing eyes.

"Come on man. When you're the greatest mind in the world like I am, you'll need to have your rest else you're gonna overwork yourself to death..." Hiroshi clapped back with a smirk, leaving Kenshin to sigh and lie back down on the grass.

He knew Hiroshi's laziness and always exhausted expression wasnt his own doing, rather it was an outward expression of his cursed technique and its unusual property. A cursed technique that could very much earn him a place even amongst Special Grades as described by Yaga.

The Heaven's Chosen, an innate technique, a two edged sword, that could grant the user unnatural mental cognitive abilities, however when wantonly activated without caution, could drive the user to the borders of insanity.

It could grant the user a mind that far surpassed their peers, allowing them to quickly grasp new skills and acquire knowledge at rapid speed. The user could very well become a God in his own right, allowing mastery of multiple disciplines at speeds that would cause a turmoil in the ordinary world.

However, even with all this, the limitations far outweighed with advantages of the technique. The never ending brain fatigue, stress and malnourished physique were just the limitations on the outside when the technique was not in use.

Even with all these limitations, Kenshin considered Hiroshi one of the strongest sorcerers, ranking him even above himself. Being able to master Reverse Cursed Technique at his age, something he had hid from everyone all this while was enough for him to respect the guy after learning how intricately difficult that technique was.

The only person to have mastered Reverse Cursed a Technique at such an age was his father, Hiruma Hayato, who had mastered it at 15 years old coupled with the Outer Path of the Six Paths Technique, yet Hiroshi had somehow managed to beat that record, mastering the technique at just 14.

Sometimes, Kenshin wondered how powerful this annoying idiot would've been if he had the Asura Path that allowed him to continually strengthen his physique to unnatural levels. He would've been the strongest of all time in his opinion.

He would've been able to master the Asura Path in no time even without the Rinnegan. Heck, even Kenshin himself with the freaking Rinnegan wasn't even close to 10 percent mastery of the technique and is been a whole fucking month.

*Grrrrrr....*

Rubbing his rumbling stomach, Kenshin arose and stretched his back while flashing a look at Hiroshi who had his eyes closed the whole time.

"Oi, I'm starving, let's go get some Ramen or something.." Kenshin lightly kicked him, as Hiroshi's eyes fluttered open with joy and imaginary tears.

"This is the best news I've ever heard in my life...oh. It's sounds like music to me ears!"

Hiroshi laughed in joy, while Kenshin rolled his eyes.

"Let's go!!!"

Cheering wantonly, Kenshin distanced himself a bit, not wanting to be identified with the psychopath.

However just as they were about to leave the field, a voice called out to him which made him raise a brow.

"Oi Special Grade.. how about a quick spar. I promise I'll go easy on you so you don't go crying to your cousin.."

Hearing the mocking tone, Kenshin adjusted the collar of his uniform which he had unbuttoned revealing the black round neck vest he wore.

Coupled with the purple bandana and the leaf stalk in his mouth, he looked like a handsome devil.

"Sigh..." At that point, Hiroshi couldn't help but sigh. A battle junky like Kenshin wouldn't take lightly a provocation of this sort. Which meant his ramen would be delayed probably by an hour. But! He could wait, after all it wasn't everyday you got to witness a Special Grade sorcerer in action.

"Sure. I've been itching for some action all day..." Kenshin flashed a battle crazed smile.

"Oi, be careful. The Zen'in clan brat isn't as simple as he looks. On the surface his cursed technique seems to be ice manipulation but with my immense deduction capabilities, I can tell that it seems to be a form of cyro molecular manipulation..."

Hiroshi mumbled subtly to Kenshin who only smiled in return.

"I do not understand a single thing you just said. But knowing you, it probably means that I'll need to hit him even harder to take him down.."

Kenshin walked towards the field accompanied by Hiroshi who at this point was acting as his coach.

"My name is Makoto Zen'in, first grade. I'm sure you might not have noticed me, but we are in the same class.."

The dark haired youth who had been sparring with the young girl from before introduced himself with a prideful smile.

"Oh? Zen'in eh? Not bad. But let's make it quick, I have to go eat some Ramen.."

Kenshin cracked his knuckles and his neck, before he spat out the leaf stalk in between his lips.

"Sure. I hope you don't lose in the first collision, else I'm afraid your title as a Special Grade would have to be nullified."

Makoto smiled and waved his hand, and the next moment, the entire arena was encapsulated in a chilling icy blizzard as Kenshin only smiled, clearly unaffected by the cold.

Waving his hand, a long silver cudgel materialized, with its ends covered in intricate dragon designs. He really needed to thank Satoru for allowing him to assimilate almost all the fourth grade weapons in the Jujutsu arsenal. That was an extremely enormous amount of weapons in his arsenal, however his most favorite by far was this cudgel he nicknamed the "Silver Dragon".

What could be better than splattering a human's brain with a draconian cudgel?

Slamming the butt of the cudgel onto the floor, the ground shattered immediately as web like cracks spread outwards, accompanied by an immense and ferocious cursed energy which immediately disintegrated the icy barrier around him.

"Bring it on.."

Hoisting his cudgel into his shoulder, Kenshin gestured mockingly as his cursed energy began to bubble within his core, ready to erupt at any moment.
