Chapter 17: Shikigami?
"I never thought I'd meet someone else who can see me, apart from that Gojo clan brat. You're really impressive as well; your strength, speed and durability, all are no joke. But a job is a job, and you'll still fall here..."
Stretching his palm, he caught a cursed tool, a long katana with a bit of fur on the guard right out of the mouth of cursed spirit that coiled itself around him.
Looking right at the opponent, Kenshin was stumped for a moment. He couldn't sense a shred of cursed energy from the man. Not just that, his muscle and bone density were way too high compared to even someone like Gojo.
'He's strong. The cursed tool in his hands is also first grade...but if I play my cards right, I might not lose..'
Kenshin twirled his cudgel, powering up the Monkey God Physique once more, as an extremely potent and near infinite metallic gold cursed energy burst out of his body in defiance.
'Zero cursed energy? I might've mistaken for a normal human if it wasn't for the cursed spirit on his shoulder. Perhaps, could it be the fabled heavenly restriction?'
Hiroshi looked ahead, assessing the situation. Although the man before them looked menacing, he didn't doubt Kenshin's ability and was 100% sure he could win.
Makoto on the other hand wasn't looking so excited. He never thought he'd see this man ever again in his life. The scourge of the Zen'in clan, as they liked to call him, yet he had mercilessly defeated and almost killed his father, Naobito in an altercation in the past. He could vaguely remember the murderous and bloody smile on his face that gave him nightmares even to this day..
Taking a step back, he shivered in fear, before he tripped and fell to the ground.
Without saying much, Kenshin instant leapt into the sky with unnatural agility and speed, as he hurled himself towards the man, Toji Fushiguro.
Without even wasting time, he grabbed his cudgel and smashed the other end with all of his strength right towards him.
Simply smiling, Toji waved his katana, slashed his katana forward, blocking Kenshin's attack with a simple stroke, a massive shockwave erupting at the point of collision, as Toji took a step back and stabilized himself.
Without wasting time, he waved the katana, parrying the already blocked attack, before he unleashed a spinning kick towards Kenshin's ribs.
*BANG!*
Getting hurled to the side in but a split second, Kenshin instantly spat out blood, as his pupils dilated for a second.
"Heavy..." That was the only word he could use to describe the force from that simple kick.
Not wanting to waste anytime, Toji blasted forward at full speed, nearly shattering the sound barrier before he appeared before Kenshin in a split second and unleashed an overhead slash which caused the wind to part around him, as if he was slicing it into two.
Raising his staff above him with both hands, Kenshin planned on stopping the attack directly and then continue with a counter, however, the moment Toji's katana clashed with his cudgel, he felt an overwhelming force crash into his body, shattering the ground beneath his feet in an instant.
The next moment, the katana continued with unshaking momentum, as it cleaved through his cudgel, and his body.
Toji then unleashed a crazy left hook, which hurled Kenshin like a cannon ball, crashing through multiple pillars at once.
Walking towards his target, Toji simply smiled victoriously, wanting to finish this and get the hell out of here, however in the next second, an unparalleled force smashed into his chest, which made his pupils dilate for a second as he was sent flying.
Puking out blood Kenshin's bloodied figure knelt on one knee and examined himself, seeing the long and deep gash that run from his shoulder blade to his abdomen and winced in pain.
He didn't even bother taking out another cursed tool, because all of his tools were below third grade and would be shattered upon a single collision just like his cudgel.
Sighing, he wiped the blood from his mouth, however in that second, the Rinnegan immediately caught sight figure heading towards him at near sonic speed. If it wasn't for his Rinnegan being active all the time he would've died a long time ago. But even with that, keeping up with the attacks was another thing on its own.
Without wasting time, Kenshin blasted forward as well, using his superior agility and speed.
*BANG!*
Both figure clashed, the force Freon their collision sending ripples of an immense wave spiraling through the building.
Moving like master fighters, both of them unleashed several deadly moves at speeds unseeable by the physical eye.
Kenshin was barehanded, however wrapped in his metallic gold cursed energy, he managed to deflect the slashes from Toji's katana with his palms, before countering with multiple kick punch combos.
Toji on the other hand was even more relaxed. Waiting and bidding his time like a cobra, he immediately spotted a slip up in Kenshin's movements and stroke, unleashing a deadly punch right into the chest of the youth, the impact nearly causing his sternum to shatter.
Before Kenshin could even be blown away by the attack, the experienced assassin grabbed him by the arm and smashed his fist into the youth's face, shattering his nose in the process, before he brandished his katana and slashed out multiple times in quick succession, as blood spurted out from the body of the blue haired youth who was instantly brought to his knees.
"You're strong, but you rely too much on physical strength." Toji spoke with his katana on his shoulder as he walked towards Kenshin step by step.
Meanwhile, Kenshin couldn't help but let out sigh, feeling his life force drain out bit by bit. Slowly, the light of life was vanishing from his vision, being replaced by an encompassing darkness.
What had gone wrong? His consciousness drowned in an abyss of silence. Was it that he depended too much on his physical strength like Toji stated? But why shouldn't he? That was all he had.
There were no fancy space shattering techniques in the Asura Path. It was just pure brute force and physique enhancing techniques. However, the Asura Path wasn't the only Path in the Rinnegan was it?
He asked himself multiple questions and delved deep into his soul where he saw about 8 flickering lights, one which was about 40% greater in intensity than the other which were completely dim.
Reaching out to them, he suddenly felt the grip of death on his soul as he strengthened himself and pushed forward.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Hiroshi and Makoto has to step in, seeing how Kenshin was about to be finished off by Toji.
Empowering himself with cursed energy, Hiroshi, holding onto a small katana slashes out multiple times, wanting to cleave through the body of the assassin with his blade, however Toji was too fast. Even with his heightened senses the blonde haired youth couldn't hope to keep up with him.
With but a punch, Hiroshi was hurled back like at immense speeds, with a bloodied nose as he crashed into a pillar.
Meanwhile, Makoto waved his hand, unleashing dozens upon dozens of ice spears rained down from the sky towards Toji's figure, however, Toji simply make quick work of the youth, unleashing multiple hits onto his body and knocked him out before he turned his attention towards Kenshin.
'He looks so awfully familiar, not like I care though...' Flashing one last glance at Makoto, Toji brandished his blade, and pierced towards Kenshin's neck.
*AWWOOOOO!*
However in that moment, a howl that sounded like it came out of the depths of the grave reverberated, accompanied by a burst of sound waves which hurled Toji back.
The next moment, Kenshin's body slowly arose from the ground, still bloodied and bleeding from his wounds, however behind him, a large portal opened as the massive figure of a pure silver wolf walked out majestically.
The wolf's eyes were pure gold, and its body was almost as large as an elephant as it nudged it's head gently at Kenshin's side.
*KAZE NO OKAMI..*
With his eyes fluttering open the next second, Kenshin let out a smile and stretched out his hand towards Toji.
As if understanding it's masters intentions, the silver wolf bowled and blasted towards Toji at sonic speed akin to a gust of wind.
*BANG!*
Smashing its body into the assassin, Toji was hurled back with immense speeds before crashing into a a pillar.
Opening its mouth, the wolf howled for the second time, as huge winds materialized and coalesced into multiple blades that shot towards Toji.
"Cursed spirit? Shikigami?" Seeing the unusual attack unleashed by the wolf, Toji raised a brow before deflecting the wind blades headed towards him with his katana.
"I see you've got a partner now, but it'll make no difference, you'll still die here..."
Exchanging his katana for a rather weird slightly short double edged blade, Toji smiled wickedly, about to attack once more when the warehouse instantly collapsed, as a crushing force surged.
"Kenshin!!"
Seeing the newcomers, Toji raised a brow, sighed and then disappeared just the same way he had appeared.
As he left, Kenshin couldn't help but sigh, as he slumped over the wolf's body causing his blood to seep onto its fur.
As if understanding his master's intentions, the wolf blasted towards the newcomers who were in fact Satoru and Suguru with Kenshin in tow.
"Wait, Satoru. It's not a cursed spirit.." Seeing the silver wolf carrying Kenshin's bloodied body, Satoru was about to attack when Suguru stopped him instantly.
"He can summon shikigami now?" Satoru looked at the figure of the beautiful silver wolf incredulously.
"It doesn't matter. We'll find out later. We need to get the other kids and get out of here."
Suguru shook his head and rushed towards Hiroshi and Makoto's unconscious figures, picking them up and walked towards Satoru.
"Can we place them on the wolf?" Suguru asked but his answer only earned him a snarl from the wolf who would only allow its master to have the honor of riding it.
"Okay then, let's get them to Ieiri before things get worse.." Satoru nodded and sighed disappeared along with everyone.
