Chapter 3: A bird is not as angelic as you would be thinking
Afterwards Yu, Glim and Ars finally arrived in a plain of grass with nothing else around. 'Is it really here?' questioned Yu to himself. He had plenty of time to stop crying on their way here.
He opened the letter kaomi gave him and began to read.
'Hi sweetie this is your old granny here! I hope that you're okay. But if you read that letter it means that you're not okay...? Damn I should have made more specific letters ! And I am hungry too.. ' he just smiled at this
'I am probably not in good shape or we have been separated from each other and it must be serious so sweetie, you need to take action. You would already had noticed but you and me aren't normal. In fact we are called infernals due to our superior abilities with the yin powers. But never forget that if there is a yin then there is a yang. Those two forces are polar opposite. While we infernals are blessed with our spiritual capabilities they, the primordials, are blessed with their powerful bloodline giving them strong physical capabilities' then he thought 'was that why this guy Leo was so strong ? ' but he resumed his reading
'Primordials and infernals were needed to assure the balance between yin and yang inside our world. Aside from us, nobody else is able to handle the yin nor the yang powers consciously. They can only turn into meaningless creatures.
As the time slowly paced conflicts began multiplying between infernals and primordials, all the way to this generation as even I had to act. Sadly over the time more and more lives even outside of infernals and primordials. Many lived were claimed as we are the only two infernals left.
This is probably my biggest failure as everything I did never changed anything. its shameful to say the least but please, if I ever happened to disappear, carry my will and then stop those stupid deaths that I could stop myself...'
He finished reading with a complex expression. He was clearly walking on a thin rope. If he was to fade away and stay low then nothing would ever happened to him. But 'I am not this kind of person'.
Yu then felt a tingling sensation in the back of his head. As if he needed to move to the right. He didn't waste time and quickly moved and realized what he had escaped from. The place where he was standing from a few moments had been destroyed by the five meters tall bird as it beak was a meter deep into the ground.
" What are you doing Ars?!" Yu shouted as he beckoned for glim to stand behind him.
The bird just took it beak from the ground and looked at Yu "I did tell her that it was stupid" It said
' it can talk?' thought Yu
"Kaomi... From the very instant she created me I hated her. She was always stubborn, always in trouble as she did not even think twice about what she was doing. But I just let it slide as It was oblivious she took it from her teacher. But going against the primordials was probably the action that made me despite her sincerely" It spoke as it was slowly walking in circle around Yu.
" Yes she was strong. But she wasn't invincible. In the battle I nearly died because of her. And how did she thanked me for all I did? Not by inquiring my well being nor by trying to heal me. She just brushed it off by saying that I was her pet and lived for her!" He deployed its big wings, directly projecting Yu and glim severals meters away.
" Do you know the irony of it? She was absolutely right. There was no way to go against her will as she was the one who made me. I am just an extension of her yin power. But luck did not forget me as she fell into deep depression from her teacher death! She was the only infernal in this world. Kaomi was basically mentally dead. Just living from the little attention she gained from her street performance. It was the best possible outcome for me. And then you came into the picture " It voice deepened as it looked at the bleeding Yu with disgust.
" Another infernal came. And that one a little special. I told her that it was only troubles for us but she didn't listen to me. And what happened ? The primordials came to our door one day."
" Can't you understand that crossing the path of primordials just means death? There is no turning back on this one. You can still live a regular life is you join me. what do you think about that?" It asked Yu.
Yu cleaned the blood coming from his nose and kept looking at the bird. " From what you've said you clearly don't like us. Why would you give me a chance now?"
" See, as you're physically incapable of doing anything I'll tell you. When kaomi passed the letter to you, she injected into yourself a bit of her powers probably in the goal of making me your servant. I am tired of that. If given enough time I can come up with a plan to free myself from you but I would need to make experiments on your body. I really don't like to put much work so I give you two options. Either you came willfully to me as a servant or I take this body of yours with strength. " Its said.
' again he is right. Its probably beyond madness to compete with the primordials. Yeah this is stupid. And I am Ma's stupid son' Yu regained confidence.
" Fuck off" Yu shouted while clapping his hand together. Hands came out of the ground and directly grabbed the paws of the bird. Glim on Yu's shoulders took some papers from it back and threw it to Ars. The papers in midair exploded making a fog of mist appears from them and covering the entire grass field on hundreds of meters.
"Foolish" Exclaimed Ars as he broke free from his restraints and deployed its wings in attempt of dispersing the mist but nothing changed.
" Stop trying to resist ! You're not fit at all for this world nor was kaomi. You two just don't know when you need to stop!" It said and then waited a few seconds before directly dashing towards Yu but he had already escaped.
'How did he knows that I was there' Yu frowned. The mist definitely affected the bird's five senses then how?
Yu didn't have the time to think about it as the bird rushed again in his direction, doing it again and again as he finally had an idea.
'It can probably see me through the mist with his eyes. But for that it need to concentrate itself. Then I'll use that moment and end him'
The bird stopped again for a moment and Yu ran to it at his top speed but as if predicting it the bird suddenly turn to him and pierced his chest with it claws.
" As hot blooded as her" The bird snorted. But it certainly celebrated to quick as smoke came out of Yu's body and exploded on the bird in a loud *Boom*.
" Sigh. That's what you get from never coming to my streets performance." Yu smirked. The bird never liked him from the moment they knew each others. Heck he could not even remember the couples of times he had seen it in the house as it never bordered to check on him. And that's what saved him here. 'It didn't know anything about me beyond the fact that I was an infernal and chose to relax alone most of the time'. 'And from the way he behaved I can firmly say that he can somehow read into my thoughts. How? I don't know'
"YUUUUUUU!!" The burned bird raged even more. And directly rushed to him.
Yu too didn't flinch and proceeded to replicate the movement from kaomi as he called "protect"
A shield appear before him and took the blow from the bird.
" DIIIIEEE YUUUUUUU! "
" no, you die" As Yu finished Glim appeared on the neck of the Bird and in a swift motion ripped of it left eye
"Arghhh" The bird screamed
" Now! Peirce through the evil" Yu casted with all of his strength as his right glowed with a faint light and slashed diagonally. The bird's head got sliced and fell to the ground with it body.
Yu simply let his body fall too as he breathed out. They could have died here. But they survived
He patted Glim head and said " Well, at least we have some meat" Smirking as Glim felt like vomiting.
