Chapter 3: Knowledge is power
Fray calmly walked until he found a bar as the most important thing at the moment was information
He needed to learn more about this world as the memories he attained only helped when related to the main cast and some other minor things
All he knew at the moment was the worlds name was Exodia
The world have divided into 4 mega continents each extremely different from the other
Exodium was the continent of the humans and also the largest continent of the four
Draconia the land of the dragons engulfed by smoke and ashes, volcanoes were extremely common in Draconia hence it being extremely lethal to any other races aside from dragons
Yggdrasil was home to the peace loving elves known for there beauty and affinity to the spirits and nature
Tartarus the most mysterious continent, it currently is home to the demons, however some believe that the demons are the weakest race of Tartarus
No one truly knows what race truly rules Tartarus although they assume the demons do since they are the only race that has interacted with them
Anyone who tried to explore Tartarus never returns hence it is labeled as a paragon level threat
Exodia had 3 levels which they used to label the level of danger a specific being or object held
However there were two unofficial levels that have only been spoken of in legends most of the populace is unaware of the other two levels
Monster was a term used for the canon fodder, given enough time a single one of them could destroy a town, what truly made them dangerous however was on rare occasions they would go in hordes of thousands, that is why city's would annually hunt them down in there location
General was the second level, these were entity's that could potentially destroy entire cities if they are leading an army, what made these beings fearsome was there intelligence to lead monsters in complex formations that would trouble even human strategists
King was the highest official threat level only the demon king belonged to this threat level, he had enough power to wipe out an entire continent by himself, this threat was used for an entity who was close to the realm of "perfection"
Paragon was the fourth tier unknown to most except for the nobles this was a realm belonging to those that had reached perfection meaning they have reached the supposed apex and they have enough power to wipe the world out currently this threat is being used by Tartarus though to the public it is known only as a divine threat
God is the highest threat level, this one truly belonging only to legends and myths the beings who could attain this threat level have long been forgotten by time, thus even the nobles don't believe that such beings truly existed
these ranks also had sub ranks to them
Low - They just entered there realm and are considered weak among there rank
Mid - This is a rank where you are considered above average in your rank
High - you are considered to be the strongest in your rank and abilities that are unique and terrifying
That was most of the information fray could remember at the moment, hence why he was currently sitting in a bar eavesdropping
"Have you heard of the hero who has appeared in the Crimson dukedom?"
"What! You're pulling my leg to say the hero has appeared do you even fathom what you're insinuating right now!"
"I know but it is the truth the church itself has confirmed it.."
"Our world will be thrown in chaos then it seems… sigh"
"It's not that bad is it? Maybe the hero has just appeared to make us the strongest race again!"
"I would agree with you, however knowing what has happened every single time the hero appears, the demon king must have been reborn"
Fray heard the extras speaking and he started pondering, has he already started moving?
It seems the prelude to the story has begun

I don't know what I should do, maybe I should go to Tartarus after all even my memories didn't explain much about that place
that could be interesting, however now that I think about it, to enter the academy I need to show some level of talent so they believe it's worth taking me in
I don't have a system though, everyone else in this world has a system that is awakened when they turn 16 in my case though since I'm a foreigner to this world it's laws don't apply to me for better or for worse
There is only one other way I can show talent that is to become a exterminator who has achievements that show my power and potential
It will be pretty annoying building achievements so I'll just do it the simple way after all simple is best, is it not?
———Third person——-
Fray started heading towards the exterminators guild though he didn't know where it was so he had to ask around quite a lot to finally find it
The building was quite cozy it had a lot of windows
It had pointed turquoise roofs and people were swarming the place like bugs
the exterminator guild building stood out quite alot as it was rare to still see medieval buildings in the modern time
he did wonder though why not just renovate it to look modern? He could never understand what those monkeys thought process was
When he entered he was greeted by the sight of countless people moving around and chatting
quite a few wore armours and swords while some appeared to be wizards with there staffs, interestingly enough there were all kinds of races here
there were elves with there recognizable pointy ears, even the proud dragons were mingling with the other races in there humanoid forms yet there was not a single demon was in sight
Fray headed towards the counter and asked to sign up he thought it would be quite complex as they might to affirm his loyalty to the king or to test his power to see if he was worth
however, the old man at the reception desk handed him a form which asked for his name, age and occupation
he was raised his eyebrow by about a millimeter before he wrote down his name Fray, his age 16 and his occupation as a brawler
He naturally lied about his age he couldn't say he was more than ten thousand years old after all and for his occupation he mostly only used his hands to fight or on very rare occasions he would take out his katana and truly get serious
As he handed it back to the man he quickly stamped it and gave him a badge with the letter F on it
"You can take quests at the F tier or if you so wish the E tier however anything above that is restricted as it could very likely kill you
Fray listened with a serious expression and turned around to look at the billboard to get his quest
He saw a S rank quest that was asking if anyone could slay the rouge black dragon that has been terrorizing countless towns and even a city was destroyed because of its wrath
It was currently spotted near the mountains in the next city over
Fray lifted his lips a little bit and started heading east towards the city where it was supposedly near
he didn't take the quest as it would bring to much attention and he would likely be stopped
"I've done many things but I haven't slayed a dragon yet have I?
he was in quite a good mood as he found something interesting to do that might just relive his boredom even if only for a single moment
*I apologize for the info dump there might be some more in the future but I don't want you guys to be confused about the world*
