Chapter 62: V3 Chapter 26 - The Curtain Rises
(AN - There was a slight correction in the last chapter, Coulson has been promoted to this chapter from the previous one.)
About two weeks later, on May 18, I was in Monaco, watching Grand Prix De Monaco up close and personal.
I watched as the cars were set on the track, and saw Tony Stark replace the driver for Stark Industries and no one stopped him, the audience even cheered.
And then it was mayhem, our villain, disguised as a mechanic, entered the Circuit intending to kill Stark.
Armed with his own Arc Reactor-powered harness, he easily tore one of the cars in half, and when Stark's car arrived he attacked, it was also cut in two.
Tony managed to evade the attacks until Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan rushed to the Circuit to deliver Stark a briefcase which was actually a portable Iron Man Armor, in order to fight Mr Russian Sadist.
'Why did he even have a portable armour here?'
I mused as I saw Hogan then repeatedly hit Mr Whip with the car, but was unable to prevent him from continuing his attack, even cutting the car while trapped between it and a fence.
The Villain then regained enough mobility to lash out at Hogan and Potts' car but was stopped by Stark, who defended them, now, as Iron Man, was able to withstand Whip's attacks.
'Whip-lash? Right! That was his villain name.'
So Mr Whiplash himself deflected Stark's repulsor attacks and managed to trap him with one of his whips.
But Stark being the guy with (plot) armour, somehow approached Mr Whiplash enough to remove the Arc Reactor from the enemy's armor, disabling it to allow the police forces to arrest him.
While all this was happening and most of the people were running away, I managed to get close to have the front row seats to all the action and hear the villain, laughing and claiming that Stark had lost, as he was transported to prison.
I watched Justin Hammer watching Mr Russian bad guy being taken away from a distance, so I quickly walked away before someone came to question me for being too conspicuous.
I finally found his name the next day in the newspaper Ivan Vanko.
About 10 days later news was out that on, May 31st, hammer Industries will be holding a presentation for their new Hammer drones, guess that's my cue.

Meanwhile at SHIELD headquarters - Triskelion
Nick Fury sat at his desk as received a report from agent Natasha Romanoff that Tony Stark would die in a few days from palladium poisoning.
Seeing the urgency of the situation Fury decided to meet the man in person, their meeting took place after they located Tony Stark on the roof of a donut shop.
And after he and Romanoff dealt with the manchild he returned to his office while the Black Widow returned to her job as an assistant.
Returning to his office he was informed Agent Coulson about the satellite readings regarding the atmospheric disturbance he detected a while ago, outside of New Mexico.
"So what was the cause?"
Seeing Coulson continuing with his technical lecture, Fury interrupted.
"Right, sorry. From what we can gather something that looks like a 'hammer' has fallen from the sky and nothing can move it from its location, the locals are even holding a competition to see who can move it."
said Coulson.
"Did it move?" (Nick Furry)
"No." (Phil, Son of Kol)
"What do we know about that 'Hammer'?" asked Fury
"Except that it's not from earth, nothing." (Coulson)
"Coulson, I need you on that site, yesterday. Take Barton with you."
Fury said as he rubbed his forehead with his hand.
"Yes sir."
(Coulson)
As soon as Couson went out and closed the door behind him, he tried to make a call to the World Security Council but it went unanswered, again.
And just as he wanted to take a break he was informed that Ivan Vanko had been found missing from his prison cell.
"DAMN IT!! Give me a break, it's a Sunday."
Shouted Fury in the confines of his office after he cut off the call informing him of the prison escape.
Nick Fury felt his eye jump again and he knew trouble was coming.
He just didn't know from where and how much.

May 31st
I made the final preparations and since I could not enter the main pavilion due to security.
As soon as the Hammer presentation began I decided to find a secluded corner to assemble the parts of my weapon that I had smuggled inside of the expo.
I took off my jacket and jeans revealing a black shirt and pants underneath, put the clothes in my black backpack and took out a black Iron Man mask to hide my face.
Why all black?
Because 'you can't lock up the darkness'.

I took up my weapon-
What is the weapon that I keep mentioning repeatedly you ask?
Well, it is a hybrid/crossbreed of a planting tube and a core drill with some mechanisms inside the tube for pulling and locking things in place.
Its body is made of chromium and the drill is composed of teeth made with a diamond edge, a high-powered compact motor to power the drill's rotation along with some spare parts in my bag and with a socket for an arc reactor for a power source too. on the top.
It has a small battery which will last long enough for me to at least pull out one arc reactor to use as the primary power source.
-walking out of the secluded corner I was in and saw Iron Man closing in on the venue from the sky.
Taking my attention off him I walked towards the main pavilion, while waking out I found a stand for free to use bicycles to and took one and put my weapon on the basket in the front.
'It's time to mine some Arc Reactors.'
I thought as I pedalled my bicycle humming a song as I made my way towards the main pavilion.

Meanwhile, evening of the same day, on the outskirts of New Mexico, Coulson watched a hulking blonde man charge into their restricted area.
Taking out the agents on guard for a try at lifting the extraterrestrial Hammer they quarantined, only to fail.
