My training with Ais went pretty well today, the executive that joined us this time was Gareth, I don't know how the order was decided but nonetheless, I was taken aback slightly. Because of his holding back and my recent improvements, I was able to stop him from doing anything leveraging my superior speed. Although I was unable to get even a dink in Gareth's armour let alone a scratch on his skin
When lunchtime was creeping up Loki suddenly appeared at the training area.
"Ais and Cain come with me for lunch, we got stuff to do!" Loki said energetically, I saw Ais nod, but I was more curious as to what we would be doing.
"What kind of stuff are we gonna do?" I asked, Loki chuckled at my question
"It's a secret for now, Oh! And lunch that's for sure!" Loki answered mysteriously, she wouldn't mistreat me, right? I'm like super talented! I sigh and go along with her antics, I follow her out of the Twilight Mansion, the first time I left it since I arrived, Is It Wrong To Be A Hermit? I laugh at my own joke. It was slight enough that my companions didn't question it too much.
We made our way through the busy Orario streets, most people stopped and got out of our way, and most people were questioning who the new person walking around with Loki and Ais was. The woman seemed to be talking with way more enthusiasm than the men. After a 20-minute walk, we arrived at 'Hosstess Of Fertillity'.
"Get ready Cain! This place has the best food and mead of the whole of Orario!" Loki exclaimed and started walking into the restaurant, Ais and I soon followed her.
"Loki!" I heard a booming voice say from inside the restaurant.
"I sure hope you're here for actual food and not alcohol!" The voice reveals herself to be Mio Grande, in response, Loki just laughs like what she said was a funny joke.
"Goodness, I would never think to do that, I just want to show my newbie the ropes!"
"Tsk, if you say so. Anya! Got a group for you to serve!"
Drama between Mio and Loki aside the food was great, amazing even, way better than the cafeteria at the Twilight Manor. I felt eyes on me the entire time I was eating or at the Hostess Of Fertility, must be Freya, I don't know how much she likes what she sees but I hope it won't be a problem
When we left without an issue I inwardly breathed a sigh of relief, Loki may have just accidentally made my life so much harder than it needed to be.
"Okay, where to next?" I asked my goddess.
"Home!" She said intent on not revealing what the secret place we were going was.
We continued on the way to the Manor when suddenly Loki made a wrong turn, I decided to follow my goddess thinking that she was going in the direction of the secret she told me about, and in the distance, I think I made out what she was talking about.
"Equipment? From Hephaestus, isn't that like really expensive?" I asked the two women accompanying me, Ais just mindlessly nodded.
"Mhm! After I saw your status last night I knew that it's better sooner rather than later." Loki said.
We entered one of the Hephaestus Familia's many shops getting met with tons of premium armour and weapons but, to my surprise, Loki ignored all of them and went straight for a flight of stairs in the corner of the shop. Ais also stuttered in her step implying that she also didn't expect Loki's movement, but we both followed our goddess to the upper floor.
I didn't feel any change but I could see a couple of beads of sweat on the back of the neck and face of Loki and Ais respectively. Am I just immune to changes in temperature?
Loki made her way over to the singular door at the end of the hallway that was lined with many other doors, I assume combined with the heat that some if not most of the equipment are made in-house.
Loki opened the door the sight we saw was of a red-haired woman with a singular crimson eye, the other was covered by an eyepatch, sitting at a desk doing paperwork. Having heard the door open she looked up at us, the guests.
"Loki, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Hephaestus asked politely, but she obviously did not enjoy us interrupting her too much.
"Cain here" Loki slaps my back, having not expected it I show more of a reaction than I should have. Loki ignores it and continues on with her request.
"Needs a weapon and some light armour." Loki asked, Hephaestus did not humour her flat counterpart.
"There are plenty of weapons and armour that will suit him just fine downstairs" Hephaestus sighed. Loki was positioned in front of Hephaestus's desk, she steeled herself to her next action.
"You misunderstand me Hephaestus," Loki proceeds to go into a 90degree bow for the ages.
"Please make Cain a weapon and some light armour!" Loki's earnest request resonated with Hephaestus, this was the first time in all of her memory of Loki be it in the mortal world or not, that she asked for this kind of favour, all for the boy she's never seen before.
Ais was equally shocked there didn't exist much equipment made directly by Hephaestus herself, she knew that Cain's growth rate was beyond what anyone could ever dream of, but just how good was it for Loki to do something like this.
Just a couple of days ago I was unsure if I was going to be able to make it this far, but now I have Loki sticking her neck out in front of Hephaestus for me.
Hephaestus let out a loud sigh to break the silence that was standing after Loki's request.
"What weapon do you use Cain." Hephaestus asked me
"I use a sword, but I do also use magic, so please make it compatible with that as well." I say I noticed that I was a bit impolite in my request so I tried to save it.
"If that's not too much of a problem!" I add.
"That's doable. Next the price, 800M valis no less, that's 300M for the sword and 500M for the armour." I think I saw Loki have a mini heart attack.
"I'll give it to you tomorrow" Loki adds, almost like her soul was leaving her body as she spoke.
"Okay, Cain come over here for a moment," Hephaestus says as she reaches for something on her desk, I follow her direction and question what she is going to do. Thankfully what she pulls out is just a tape measurer, so she can make the armour to my measurements.

Today was the last night before I headed into the dungeon, I was waiting for the last status check. It led me to reminisce about all the things I had learned over the week. Mostly with Riveria, Ais mostly just fought me, along with the other executives. With Riveria I was able to learn new uses for mind and magic, I learned that a Fireball was pretty inefficient for combat and started using Flame Arrows instead, due to their more precise 'arrow tip' it leads to more power.
I also perfected a Fire Sheild that works very well and the one that took me the most time to get right Fire Storm is my only AOE spell and boy does it do the job, the only problem is the preparation time is too long since I have to put my mind into place outside of my body which was a difficult task on its own, at the start at least. Then I can trigger it, but the whole process can take up to 5 minutes. It's a real pain to manipulate Mind and fight and at the same time, it is like controlling two bodies at the same time to do different things. I can do it with smaller spells, even something like Fire Shield is possible, but Fire Storm is just too large a spell.
Cutting off my thoughts at the perfect time Loki opens my door.
"What's up MY Cain" Loki said.
"Why are you being so possessive suddenly?" I asked confused.
"So you realize that I was the one that helped you when no one else did."
"Yes, yes I won't ever betray you" I was about to lie down when Loki spoke up.
"3 days, you have to come back at least every 3 days!" she said with a small tear in her left eye before wiping it away.
"With how strong you are, you should try out the middle floors it should be a good experience for you, those can take a while so just don't do anything Riveria wouldn't do" Loki added, I nodded resolutely ready to take on the centrepiece of this world.
"You don't have a bone in your body that can disappoint, ey?" Loki says checking my status, after a small delay I get the chance to see it as well.
