Chapter 13: Ch-13: The Kido Secrets

The atmosphere in Urahara's shop went from super tense to kinda sorta okay as we all settled in. Urahara, that guy with the hat and fan, started asking me questions that made me feel like I was in some intense interview.

"What's your name?" he asked, all cool and collected.

I didn't waste a second to reply, "Ridhiro Kageshima."

Then he goes on and asks, "So, how many spells do you have?"

After some thinking, I said, "I've got the first 10 Hado and 10 Bakudo."

Urahara seemed to nod like he was thinking about something. He then dropped another bombshell on me. "You may not be aware, but only 2 of the first 10 Hado and 3 of the first 10 Bakudo are known to us. The remaining techniques have gradually faded into obscurity, lost within the river of time itself. These secrets were buried alongside the creators of these spells, who met their demise during a prolonged war that unfolded thousands of years ago."

Hearing this, I swear I felt like I'd stepped into some hidden corner of the Bleach universe. It was like an alternate dimension where secrets were as common as ramen shops. My spells, the ones I thought were kinda standard, turned out to be ancient relics that even the biggest nerds in Soul Society didn't know about.

But here's the kicker – these long-lost spells somehow ended up with me. The thought of it sent my excitement levels off the charts. It was like a challenge, a quest to unravel the mysteries of these forgotten Kido. Sure, it was a little risky, but it was the kind of adventure you'd find in one of those epic manga series. And I was all in, ready to explore the depths of this mysterious world and unlock the secrets of these ancient techniques.

Urahara's voice was all serious and stuff, and he wanted to know more about my crazy Kido spells. He was like, "Hey, Ridhiro, how'd you end up with these spells?" Man, I felt like I was in some intense interrogation scene from a movie. Everybody in the room, including Rukia, was staring at me, and I could see the shock on their faces, with a look like they'd just found out Santa Claus was real. Turns out, they didn't even know about these lost Kido spells, which explained why sometimes in the anime, random spells without numbers showed up. Talk about a bombshell, right? It was like a plot twist from one of those shows that leaves you questioning everything.

My eyes darted around the room as I started to freak out. Like, I didn't even get a chance to say bye to my parents, and now it looked like they were gonna drag me off to the Soul Society for experiments or something. Urahara was just so chill about it, which made me even more nervous.

Then he dropped this bombshell of a question: "Are you some kind of reincarnation of some entity?" But then Ichigo had to add, "Yeah, he mentioned something about being the 'Dragon Demon Star Emperor' or whatever."

I swear, the room went from intense to hilariously awkward real quick. I mean, come on, "Dragon Demon Star Emperor" or whatever I said—I might as well have called myself the king of cringe. The laughter that followed, man, it was like being at a comedy club where I was the punchline.

I tried to regain my composure, coughed awkwardly, and said, "Uh, yeah, I'm not a reincarnation of anything, really".

That just set off another round of laughter. At least it lightened the mood, but seriously, who knew that a random introduction could make things so crazy?

I couldn't help but glance around the room, half-expecting a black cat to jump out of nowhere. If Yoruichi showed up, my chances of having a waifu would be utterly crushed. But, thankfully, there was no sign of her. It was like all my accumulated luck was finally paying off, saving me from the ultimate humiliation.

Then Urahara continued his questioning. "Now, what will you do next?" he asked. I had to think on my feet, so I replied, "I'll use these powers to protect my friends and deal with any enemies that come our way." It was a blatant lie, and deep down, I knew it. I didn't really have any friends, and Ichigo had definitely earned a spot on my blacklist. But sometimes, you gotta say what they wanna hear, right?

Urahara's response caught me off guard. He simply said, "Do whatever you want, but just don't use your powers on mortals." Wait, that was it? No kidnapping to Soul Society? No eternal sealing or experiments? It felt almost anticlimactic, considering all the dramatic build-up.

I must've looked shocked because Urahara seemed to read my mind. He leaned in and said, "You're an anomaly, but I'm leaving you be not because you're a 'good boy.'" His eyes suddenly glowed with an eerie red light. "It's because you're weak."

As the conversation took a more serious turn, I did my best to maintain a straight face and not let my emotions get the best of me. My dignity as a weeb was at stake, after all. It wouldn't do to lose my cool in front of these seasoned Shinigami. So, I gritted my teeth and nodded along, trying to appear calm and collected even though my mind was racing with questions and uncertainty.

I bristled at his blunt assessment. Who did he think he was? I might be new to this whole Shinigami thing, but I'd already taken down three massive Hollows. My ancestors, going back 14 generations, had never even seen one. I silently vowed that when I unlocked more Kido, I'd prove him wrong. But for now, I had to keep a low profile and figure out just what was going on in this crazy world of spirits and spells.

Little did I know that this meeting with Urahara and the mind-blowing Kido revelation would kickstart a whole new chapter in my life—full of weird adventures, challenges, and trying to fit in with the Shinigami and their quirky world.
