Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Strengthening Quest
Koda's eyes fluttered open as the morning light seeped through his window. He groaned softly, his body sore from the previous day's battles and the tense encounter with Kakoyama High's number 1's girlfriend. Pushing himself upright, he rubbed his eyes, the memories of the past days flooding back.
As his senses fully awakened, Koda's gaze settled on the holographic interface of the Delinquency System that hovered before him. The words and icons seemed to dance in the air, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and confusion.
"3 [skill boxes] opened! 2 [item boxes] opened!"
Koda blinked, his heart racing as he took in the announcement. His fingers tapped the air in front of him, causing the messages to shift and change.

A passive ability. This ability allows you to take in all skills and abilities used against you. Like a glutton, you swallow the knowledge needed to preform any move possible. (Downside: Need to be hit with skills or ability"

When worn +5 DEF, +5 STA

The chains that held Fenrir for millennia, you control 10 chains with your will, you are their master and they listen to you and you alone. (Downside: Night Terrors.)
"Koda? Are you just going to spend the weekend in again?" Koda's mother asked as she knocked on his door.
"Huh! Oh yeah mom I'm up. I'll go out today!" Koda yelled quickly, getting dressed just as he looked at his quests page.

"Well... That's a given... Maybe I'll check out this strengthening quest."
Koda left his room, saying goodbye to his mom and rushing out of the house. 'If I catch the train I can get to Central Ishiyama in like thirty minutes...'

Central Ishiyama City was sprawling and bustling, filled with teenagers up to no good all around. Koda's steps were drowned out by hundreds of others as he navigated through the crowded streets, his eyes scanning his surroundings for any sign of Kakoyama High's influence.
His inquiries led him to various local high school hangouts and teen gathering spots. However, each lead seemed to fizzle into a dead end, leaving Koda frustrated and impatient. He was about to give up hope of finding the mysterious number one, but fate seemed to be one his side.
Before he could react, a group of delinquents surrounded him, their expressions arrogant and confrontational. Koda's eyes narrowed, a sigh escaping his lips.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" one of them sneered, cracking his knuckles. "Looks like someone's lost in the wrong part of town."
"My god... I'm just here to finish something, I'm not here for trouble. Just tell me what I need to know about Kakoyama High's number 1," He said, his temper rising as it did before.
'Should I just kill them all?' Koda couldn't help but think as one of the delinquents stepped up to him.
The delinquents exchanged glances, their amusement clear on their faces as the blonde in front of him let out a chuckle.
"You think you can take out our number 1? You've got guts, I'll give you that."
"Hah... Fine I'll get the info anyway," Koda said with a sneer as he suddenly bent down, grabbing the front ends of the boys pants and standing back up, yanking the pants with all his might and sending the blonde toppling to the ground.
Koda jumped forward, slamming his foot into the boy's chin and knocking him out instantly.
"Why don't you fuckers just come at me all at once..." Koda said with a sneer.
"You fucker!" They yelled and rushed Koda.
'Yeah I almost forgot... I'm supposed to be a villain now,' Koda thought as he easily dodged one guy's punch, slamming a knee into the pit of his stomach.
"Does it hurt?" Koda asked, his heart beating faster as an unfamiliar sense washed over him. "I didn't notice it at first since I was so focused on winning the fights... But this is actually pretty fun!" Koda yelled, kicking the boys legs out from under him and slamming him face first into the concrete.
The others went down even easier, and soon Koda sat atop the blonde he had first taken down.
"Hey... Bad guys smoke right? Here give me one," Koda said with a smirk, enjoying the fear in the blonde boy's eyes.
With a shaky hand the blonde handed him the pack of cigarettes.
'Mom told me not to smoke... Fuck it,' Koda thought as he took out one of the white sticks.
"Oh wait... I need a light," He muttered.
"Here," A voice said as dozens of people circled around him. The boy in front of him had a peculiar smile as he held out a small red lighter, the flame already on.
Koda shrugged and put the cigarette in his mouth, hovering the tip against the flame and lighting it. Breathing in the smoke he felt the urge to cough, but he wanted to save face and held it in.
"Phew..." He hid his cough as he blew out the smoke in front of him, smiling up at the boy in front of him. "I suppose you can't just tell me where your number 1 is?"
The delinquent scoffed. "You don't deserve to even breath the same air as the black flame of Kakoyama, much less know where they are..."
Koda smiled. "Well I'm sure he can't hide forever, I mean there has to be a limit to how many of you guys I break before he shows right?"
Koda was an unexpectedly good fighter. It wasn't all because of the system, he just knew when to strike, where to hit to hurt the most, how to sway his opponent. Years of being bullied had trained him better than any coach could.
When one can turn their defeats into experiences and grow from that, they call them great. Koda was a step above, he just never knew it until the system had allowed him to take that step... He was a genius.
Koda stood up, staring face to face with the black haired boy in front of him. He wasn't scared, not in the same way he used to be, but with dozens of guys to take down he needed to wait for the perfect moment.
"Hah, I always hate bluffers, they talk a big game before-"
The black haired boy never finished his sentence as Koda slammed his elbow into his jaw, his consciousness fading immediately.
The boy dropped to Koda's feet as he smiled wildly. He felt like shit, and he was beginning to get tired, but he wasn't gonna show them that.
"I'm only gonna ask once more before I really start killing you fuckers... Where is your number 1," He hissed, his voice oozing with venom as the people looked at he scene shocked.
Koda could tell they'd lost their confidence. When the chosen leader goes down mobs like them always calmed down, especially if they were completely crushed.
But Koda just kept smiling, eyes locked with the closest delinquent.
"Come on you don't think I'll let you off with just one warning," He said, his voice cold and calculating. "If you wanna live, you gotta tell me."
The delinquent gulped.
"W-We don't have it... We don't even know who it is..." He said, gulping and stepping back as Koda took another drag of the cigarette.
Koda let out a sigh. "Then go home and rest," He said, causing the group to exhale in relief simultaneously.
"In fucking pieces."
"Stop," A voice called out just as Koda lunged at the boy he was talking too.
The crowd opened up to reveal a girl with brown hair, glaring at Koda as she held her phone out. "What the hell are you doing?" She spat, looking at him as if he was human trash.
Koda looked between the boy and the girl.
Bam!
He slammed his fist into the boy's jaw, knocking him unconscious immediately as he looked at the girl, taking another drag of the cigarette.
'Hmm, I'm getting kinda used to it. I can see why old people are so addicted,' He thought as he blew out the smoke and gave his best smile.
"What do you mean? I'm just having a conversation," He said with a small chuckle...
The girl's glare intensified as she regarded Koda, clearly unimpressed by his attempt at casualness. Her brown eyes bore into him, a mixture of anger and defiance fueling her demeanor.
"Just a conversation, huh?" she retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well, you've got a funny way of having conversations."
