She stood by the side of the small green lake, with layers forming shimmering waves.Her ink black hair pushing because of the gust wind,her hazelnut eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of blood on her the side of her forehead, "Zerrisa?" the sharp voice of a woman called. Zerrisa looked away from the water staring at the tall woman who stood at the other end of the lake with an annoyed look on her face."yes mama" she replied walking at a fast pace towards the woman."how many times must I tell you to always stick with me and isabelle when we go out" the woman said pulling the little girl to the expensive looking carriage.The carriage was driven to a huge mansion and stopped at the front of the gate. The woman stepped down from the carriage with the help of the coachman,followed by Zerrisa,her tiny feet following her, they entered through the gates "Good day lady Veronica"the butler of the mansion greeted ,"I was called by the Lord , is he in?"she asked ina calm manner."yes milady"came the quick reply of the butler,then he gestured his hands for the lady to follow him as he walked towards the study.The lady followed and Zerrisa followed from behind as well. Taking them up the stairs to where the lord's quarters was located, and finally walking past many rooms,the butler halted just before the study. Entering this big mansion seemed so scary for Zerrisa,with no paintings in any of the halls they passed and no flowers the place seemed dull for her, she could only hope her adoptive mother wouldn't leave her here, as it seemed that it was only a scary looking butler and a lord that lived here. Turning around the butler bowed with a stoic expression and said" I'll go get some refreshments milady",not bothering to answer the measly butler as she was of higher status, and in addition in a dilemma of why the Lord suddenly called for her, she waved her hand at the butler to have him leave them."come on Zerrisa,let's go" the lady said and the girl quickly followed, too scared to be left behind.
Entering the large office study, Zerrisa noticed how extremely neat and pretty it was, and on like other parts of the mansion this place was filled with huge books and large beautiful paintings,of towns,settlements, even a woman. Knowing he was a vampire as all the lord's and the dukes in arastasia were vampires,at her young age she wasn't surprised to see paintings of women without much covering in some of the duke's houses she had visited. But this looked like a painting of respect. Noting this she followed the lady to were the Lord sat reading some parchments,with a small lens resting on the bridge of his nose, he looked up at them.The lady quickly bowed down in respect, " my lord", the man's eye brows furrowed as if irritated " what is it?"he asked to see the woman's expression becoming tense. If there was one person lady Veronica was afraid it was this Lord sitting before her,Lord Abel Caesar,the most handsome ,gruesome and devilish Lord in the entire East of arastasia.
" milord I am Veronica from Drakes Manor, you sent for I and my daughter" the woman replied still bowing down. The man's eyes moved towards the the little girl who had her eyes on the floor carpet.
" take a seat" the Lord ordered as the butler came in to serve some refreshments. The little girl looked eagerly at the biscuits an tea thet was served, as she never received any of these treats even after she was adopted,and it was only ever given to her sister isabelle, 'it looks like you don't feed her often' Abel remarked with a cold expression which made lady look awkward and laugh a little 'she's always acting stubborn milord, always doing the wrong things 'she replied looking at the girl with a stern face to make sure she didn't have any of the biscuits as she was no vampire to know when she sneaked one. 'Her name?' came the question from abel 'Zerrisa milord ' the woman replied promptly. Nodding abel continued looking in the direction of the little girl who looked at the biscuits with wonderment and curiosity.
