Chapter 183: We need a barrier

When Evelyn woke up from her meditation she was surprised to find herself in Clyde's strong arms. His outercoat had been badly burned, but he only had concern for her in his eyes.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, his voice as sweet as honey to her ears.

She smiled softly and had to keep herself from nuzzling into his embrace. "I am fine," she sighed. 

"You really had me worried there," he said. "Do you have any idea how dangerous that was just now? You could have let your magic consume you!"

"But it didn't," she replied shortly. She was not sure why he was so angry, then she saw the ends of her hair. They were snow white and she panicked. "What happened?" She asked. 

"Your magic got a bit out of hand just now and you were close to being consumed by it," he explained, trying to remain calm.
