Chapter 15: End of year Part 1
A week past after the egg incident and Dumbledore announced special class on dragons. It'd be held by Kettleburn with Hagrid assisting him. Maybe with helping in a actual lesson, Hagrid might be a competent Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Who knows.

All around me lay golf balls slightly dented. It couple months since the dragon incident. I attended only one of the classes, and Kettleburn was actually able to reign in Hagrid a little. With Kettleburn's exerience and Hagrid's enthusiasm it was a fairly good class.
On to more important things, I'd perfected the Protego spell and, I could even use it non-verbally. From what i'd read the last level of the spell was to make a localised smaller Protego. This allowed one to use what is known a spell batting. It was a very advanced technique but I was sure i'd get it.
On another note, i'd finally gotten good enough at Ancient Runes to read Elements. The book held some of every kind of elemental spell. From Incendio to much to my surprise Fiendfyre. It even had the fastest known traveling spell Fulmens. The lighting spell was one i'd be learning as soon as I could. And, finally much to my pleasure Protego Diabolica. The spell Grindlewald used to almost destroy Paris. The spell was hard to master as it did require was a precise intent. The flames were meant to embraced friend and destroyed enemies.
Just as importantly though, i'd found a summer activity. See, the Wizarding World had serveral international dueling tournaments. And, even in some countries a national one. Magical Britian though no longer did after the war and waning interest. Even the crossed wands the Hogwarts Legacy duel club no longer existed. It is like peace made everyone no longer want to see violence.
Oh well, i'd be talking to Gran about getting into it. I already had two willing teachers in Kingsley and Moody. I just had to put in the work. I'd also had to wait a year aparently if I enter right now i'd be in the under-13 which is just children playing around. But, waiting one year I could get into the under-14 which would be more competition.
With the idea to participate in dueling it sparked an idea, use a diluted Wiggenweld to repair my muscles so I healed faster and could workout more. But, this idea would take a while to enact as i'd have to brew lots of Wiggenweld. Which shouldn't be problem. I'd wait until the summer and make it all home. Or just buy some which ever came first.

The last couple months at Hogwarts crept by as I studied and trained. I'd had eventually been able to get the hang of spell batting. And, learning spells from elements, from the book i'd learned the basic ice, wind and, water spells. Although they weren't the most impressive they were a step towards elemental mastery. And, that would put me in the big league's of Wizards.
On another front, final exams had come and gone. The written was taken inside a large room and, we were given anti-cheat quills. The practical consisted of making a pineapple tap-dance across a desk for Professor Flitwick. Professor McGonagall watched them turn a mouse into a snuffbox, points were given for how pretty the snuffbox was but, taken away if it had whiskers. Snape's was simply brewing a Forgetfulness potion. All of which I passed.

It was late at night and I was in bed when I noticed Ron and Harry hadn't come into the dorms yet. So I got and went into the common area. To see the trio coming up with a game plan probably.
"So you three are going after the stone?" I said startling them.
"No we were…going to visit Hagrid." Said Hermione trying to lie.
"Yeah he invited us to tea." Backed up Harry.
"You three really think i'm an idiot. Do not try it, he'll kill you all with a single curse you don't even know the name of." I said knowing reasoning with them wasn't possible.
"Neville! Voldemort killed my parents! If he gets the Stone, he'll return to power again, and then you might know exactly how I'm feeling right now when he murders you and your family!" Harry's Saviour Mode exploded and he pulled out his wand." Hogwarts is the best thing that's ever happened to me. No. I'm nothing without the wizarding world and I can't just let Voldemort ruin it."
"Ok first of all don't point you wand at me." I said waving my hand and wand was out of his hand. "Second of all you aren't the only person to suffer becase of Voldemort. My parents were turned into FUCKING VEGETABLES! At least you know yours are at peace mine will suffer until they die. And, third what could an eleven year old who can't even hold his was do against Voldemort in the first place."
"Neville look… i'm sorry but I have to do this. If I don't stop him he'll-" But I interupted him by saying.
"Ok go. If your going to do it go but don't say I didn't warn you. Your going on a fools errand if Dumbledore can't keep the stone safe then you'll do no better." I said walking away from the three.
I'm really starting to think that prophecy affects him mentally or something. No normal person would be that willing to die. I'll just leave them to their fate. Although Voldemort is Harry's enemy, that didn't mean I couldn't help in some ways. It just meant I couldn't fight with Voldemort himself, until the prophecy was fufilled. I'd make some moves next year, get my hands on the basilisk venom. But, it'd be best to wait to destroy the Horcrux's that also meant freeing Sirius. Those two moves took out three Horcrux's. The diary, diadem and, locket. The ring, Nagini and the cup will be hard but not impossible. And, Harry himself would be one to be delicate with but I would think of something.
