Chapter 298: Chapter 298: Battle of Strength

...

The entire venue fell into silence, all eyes focused on the two figures on the stage, their expressions somewhat blank.

What just happened? Why are the two of them just standing still? Has the battle already ended?

The disciples in the audience were filled with question marks in their minds.

Even Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong on the VIP seats were filled with shock and astonishment. Among them, as Titled Douluo experts, Chen Xin and Gu Rong felt it the most deeply. They could clearly sense what happened on the stage in that instant.

Yes, the battle has already ended. In that instant of sword light flickering, the victor has been decided.

As a sword cultivator like Chen Xin, he clearly understood how astonishing Zeng Yi's sword strike was.

Using stillness to control movement, one strike to defeat the enemy.

Still like calm water, moving like a godly wind. The unsheathing of the sword was instantaneous, unparalleled in speed!

So fast, his sword!

Chen Xin opened his wide eyes, looking at Zeng Yi stylishly sheathing his sword on the stage, his eyes filled with shock.

Although the battle lasted only one second from start to finish, and the victory was determined by that one unsophisticated sword strike, Chen Xin could feel the magnificence of that strike. It was awe-inspiring yet natural, containing profound meaning of swordsmanship.

That one strike seemed to contain all things in the universe.

Although it may sound a bit exaggerated, from that one strike, Chen Xin could roughly guess the potential and realm of his disciple's swordsmanship.

One cannot unleash such a strike without profound swordsmanship cultivation.

Chen Xin felt gratified and excited to have such a disciple because he had glimpsed the future, where swordsmanship would shine on the entire continent.

But at the same time, he also felt a bit sorrowful. As Zeng Yi's master, who was known as Chen Xin of the Sword, he felt that he had no ability to guide his disciple.

This made Chen Xin, a Level 96 Titled Douluo, feel a sense of powerlessness. Upon careful reflection, he realized that he had not taught Zeng Yi anything about cultivation. Zeng Yi's current level and realm were all achieved through his own exploration.

It seemed like all Chen Xin did was act as a sparring partner and teach him a few sword techniques.

The rest was just Zeng Yi's own cultivation, serving as his protective umbrella for growth.

In this respect, the old man was right; he really had a stroke of luck becoming his master.

Zeng Yi was simply born for swordsmanship!

Perhaps even without his master, Zeng Yi could have reached the pinnacle of swordsmanship and become the number one figure on the continent. It would have just been a more arduous journey.

Chen Xin looked at Zeng Yi on the stage, feeling deeply moved.

On the martial stage, Nangong Lin stood motionless, the Armored Dragon Spirit Armor clasped by her hands dissipated into dots of light. Her widened eyes were filled with disbelief and fear.

As Nangong Lin's opponent, she felt the profound impact of that one sword strike the most.

That terrifying coldness struck directly at her spirit, shattering her will.

In just one strike, in less than a second, Nangong Lin was defeated, evidenced by the white headband that fell from her head.

If it weren't for her opponent showing mercy, she would have been dead.

Nangong Lin trembled in her heart, her clothes were soaked with cold sweat, and even her body was trembling slightly.

Zeng Yi turned around and looked at Nangong Lin on the opposite side, saying "Won't you admit defeat? Or are you unwilling to be defeated without using your full power? How about I give you another chance to display your spirit skill?"

Although the opponent was a girl, Zeng Yi wouldn't go easy on her. He wouldn't delay anything that could be resolved with one strike. Especially when facing an unfamiliar spirit master, who knows what peculiar abilities her spirit skill might possess? What if he were caught off guard?

Typically, in a battle, both sides would mutually test each other with a few exchanges before truly starting the fight.

Nangong Lin had planned for that as well. However, she didn't expect Zeng Yi to deviate from the norm and defeat her in an instant.

Nangong Lin found it difficult to accept.

According to reason, it shouldn't be like this! They were both Spirit Ancestors of the same level, with only a one-level difference in spirit power. Both were power-type Spirit Masters without any annoying control-type spirit skills. Even without using spirit skills, relying on spirit power and strength to clash, there shouldn't be such a huge gap.

They were both at the Spirit Ancestor realm, how could a one-level difference create such a disparity?

Moreover, he didn't even release his spirit rings.

Nangong Lin was feeling a bit lost and began to doubt her life. Her gaze became confused.

"I've lost."

Nangong Lin sighed and replied. Zeng Yi's words seemed to carry a hint of mockery, but she only let out a bitter smile. Although she felt somewhat unwilling in her heart, she knew that she had truly lost. If it were a life-or-death battle, she would already be dead.

Now, she finally realized that the terrifying speed Zeng Yi had been utilizing to escape earlier gave her the false impression that he was not strong. However, when that speed was used for attack, it would become a terrifying advantage.

Now, she personally experienced that feeling.

Nangong Lin bent down, picked up the headband that was cut off by Zeng Yi, glanced back at him with a complicated expression, and then walked down the stage.

In the rest area of Red Sakura, everyone surrounded Nangong Lin as she returned, asking concernedly about her condition.

"Are you okay, Nangong Lin? Did you get injured?"

Nangong Lin shook her head and said "He didn't hurt me, but I lost. That's an undeniable fact."

The members of Red Sakura were all a bit bewildered. The battle between Zeng Yi and Nangong Lin ended too quickly; they didn't see what happened. In the blink of an eye, the two of them had switched places, and Nangong Lin had admitted defeat.

Seeing their confused faces, Nangong Lin didn't explain further. Instead, she looked at Hong Jie beside her with some apology and said "I'm sorry, I couldn't find out what his spirit skill was for you."

However, Hong Jie seemed unconcerned. She patted Nangong Lin's shoulder, smiled, and said "It's okay, leave it to me next. I didn't expect my dear to be so powerful, it's making me excited!."

After saying that, Hong Jie directed her gaze towards the man standing on the stage, and her expression became serious.

This was the first time she encountered a same age Spirit Master who could put such pressure on her. During the battle between Nangong Lin and Zeng Yi, she could only vaguely track his movement from that momentary sword unsheathing, despite her own abilities.

This speed was simply beyond what a Spirit Ancestor could possess.

But it was not enough to shake her confidence; instead, it made her even more eager. Looking at Zeng Yi standing on the stage, a flame seemed to flicker in Hong Jie's eyes.

"Then it's my turn." Hong Jie said as she walked towards the martial stage.

"Wait."

Just as Hong Jie took a couple of steps, someone called out to her from behind.

"What's the matter?" Hong Jie turned around, looking puzzled at Nangong Lin who called out to her.

Nangong Lin's expression turned serious as she cautioned "Remember, don't take him lightly, give it your all from the beginning! And be careful of his terrifying speed."

Hong Jie looked at her, smiled slightly, but didn't say anything. Her gaze then turned to the man standing on the stage, the aura of her spirit power burst out from her body. With a light step, her entire body leaped into the air like a swallow, heading towards the martial stage.

As Hong Jie descended onto the martial stage, the entire venue erupted in cheers. The main attraction has finally begun, the battle between the strongest disciple of the sect and the mysterious prodigy.

The previous battles left them perplexed; they didn't know what happened, the fights ended abruptly, unsatisfying.

Now, the strongest disciple of the sect would face off against this mysterious young man. Surely this fight won't end in an instant like the previous one, right? It should offer a passionate and magnificent visual feast, a clash of titans.
