Chapter 24: Guidance System
"Who said that?" Zhang Han said as he took a fighting stance.

Zhang Han became confused the moment he saw the status screen in front of him.
He wasn't stupid and knew that the information was definitely about him, but he still didn't understand what was going on.

"Greetings to the host, I'm your guide system and I'm here to assist you in your initial stages" An emotionaless voice sounded in Zhang Han ears.
"Where are you hiding?" Zhang Han asked.
"I'm a part of you that resides in your consciousness, and you can let your guard down am not here to harm you"
The voice rang in Zhang Han head once again.
Zhang Han let down his guard after hearing that. He was confused and didn't understand the situation.
"Are you the reason I'm here?" He asked.
"Wrong! The host was not brought into this realm by the guidance system, you were chosen" The voice answered his question.
"Chosen? By who and why?" Zhang Han was extremely confused, who were the people that chose him?
"You were chosen by the immortal gods to live a second life.
Why? I don't know"
Immortal gods?
Zhang Han didn't know this immortal gods, but he was extremely grateful to them. They had given him a second chance to live again.
He was not going to waste it this time.
"Where am I?" He asked the question he had wanted to ask the moment he woke up.
"You are currently in the lower realm of the broken heaven world.
You are now in a middle tier kingdom called the immortal empire" The system answered him.
"Immortal empire, broken heaven world" Zhang Han muttered to himself.
As he expected, he was not on earth, this was definitely a different world.
He glanced at his status information, he clearly understood everything now, from the memories of the previous owner this world was different from his previous world.
This world was ruled by sects, clans and empires. This world was filled with an energy called spiritual Qi.
This energy could be absorbed, stored and refined in the human body to strengthen their bodies and give them super human abilities. They could soar through the clouds like birds and burrow under the earth like moles.

This was a world for only the strong
The thought of this things excited Zhang Han, he clenched his hands tightly.
"Does this mean, you are going to help me become strong?" He asked the system.
"Not exactly, your path would help you become strong" the system simply replied.
Zhang Han nodded, but when he checked his cultivation level, he was just an Elementary Gathering expert, this people weren't even considered cultivators.
"How are you going to help me become strong?" Zhang Han asked.
"By helping you choose the path you want to take to the peak of the world.
The host has two paths to choose, you only get one chance to choose one path. Whichever one you chose, it is my task to assist you through it.
Is the host ready to choose?" The guidance system asked still in a stiff and emotionaless voice.
Zhang Han took in a deep breath, he knew that the path he would choose will be the one he will have to stick to forever.
He didn't know the two paths he had to choose from, but he knew it won't be an easy one.
"What else can I do but face it bravely'' he muttered to himself.
"I'm ready, what are the options"
[Host has to decide whether he would follow the Blood Demonic Path or the Flawed Heaven Path]
[Blood Demonic Path: If the host should choose to walk this path, his way to the peak of the world would be filled with bloodshed and death. Host will gather points to ascend to new realms by killing his way through it. The host points would only be able to improve or doubled, if he kills the righteous and massacre innocent people. This path is the easiest to reach the top at the shortest time]
[Flawed Heaven Path: If the host chooses this path, the host will have to walk a lonly path against the heavens, Host will be able to gather points and level up by walking the righteous path and killing evil people, the more life the person you kill has taken the higher your points will increase]
[Choose a path]
Zhang Han stood there dazed, the first option was a terrible choice, he would become a beast if he were to choose it, but it was also the fastest way to level up and become stronger and by far the easiest.
Whiles the second path was a difficult path to choose. Though it might seem simple, those who has blood on their hands were going to be anything but simple to defeat.
Such people were definitely evil people who were no pushovers. To gain higher points he would always have to face opponents greater than him.
If he were to choose the first path, things would be easier for him, he might become a horrible person and might kill innocent people, but so what.
They had to blame themselves for being weak.
He was still in contemplation when he felt a pain in his head which sent him on his knees.
After a few breathes had passed, tears started streaking down his face.
On earth, he became an orphan with no one to rely on after his parents were killed in a bank robbery.
The world had turned it's back on him at that time. He decided to escape the orphanage when he was nine.
He joined a gang by the age of 13 and by 20 he had climbed his way into the gang leader position.
He was cold hearted and cruel at that time, he turned his back on the world since it had abandoned him first.
He committed various crimes, but still upheld his morals. He took in a group of orphans who later betrayed him leading to his death.
He got a second life, but came too late. His family had been massacred by a tyrant.
In all his life, he had always dreamed of having a family, but in this life to it wasn't possible.
All his family members were gone.
He started to envy the previous owner of the body, at least he got to experience the joy of being part of a family.
He wiped the tears on his face.
"That's right, I accept your hatred and resentment as my own, since I've taken over your body then it means you and I have become one.
Your grievances has become mine. Rest assured I'll take revenge on your behalf and rescue our remaining clansman" Zhang Han said solemnly.
He had been attacked by the last resistance of the previous owners soul. He had seen and felt all his resentment and anger.
This had also stemmed something in him and influenced his emotions.
He related to Zhang Han emotions a lot after all they were both orphans.
The remaining fighting soul of Zhang Han slowly faded away.
"From now on, there is no Lin Feng, I'm Zhang Han"
"I chose the second path!" Zhang Han chose his path.
In his previous world, he couldn't avenge his parents no matter how hard he tried.
This time was different, he knew who his sword should be pointed at and where to find him.

He remembered that cold and emotionless eyes of that man, he gritted his teeth and clenched his fist.
"Grand....General....Gu.....Shang" He muttered this words out word by word.
[4..3..2..1.. System rebooting]
Zhang Han passed out after hearing that.
