Chapter 15: Denatus
I got back to the tavern.
I was smiling happily from my achievement, but after going to my room the adrenaline level in my blood, that didn't went down from the anticipation and excitement, decreased now and I finally realised what stupid risks I took.
Why do I pressure myself so much?
Even when it took me another year to advance a level, why did I want to fasten up my speed in the middlefloors?
I couldn't answer my own question.
I just had the desire to go deeper down the Dungeon.
Was it because of my old job, that I want to explore it?
I really couldn't find an answer, so I told myself to decrease my speed till I found it. As a level 2, I should be able to solo between the 1st and 18th floor as long as I am careful and prepared.
Maybe forming a party wasn't so bad, as I enjoyed venturing alongside Ryuu.
But honestly that was because I liked her around. And I know I could trust my back to her, yet trusting strangers is something I didn't feel comfortable with. I thought of the Loki familia, but they wouldn't team up with outsiders. As I had a few questions for MamaMia and it was the beginning of the weekend today, I choose to help out downstairs, which only happend occasionally in the last months.

After an evening that wasn't as stressful as I remembered, Mia walked up to me.
"So you leveled up. Congratulations. "
I was a little surlrised she noticed that soon, even when she would definitely find it out, I didn't know it would happen so fast.
"Thanks, but how did you know?"
"Your speed here increased.", she said while pointing to the sink beside us.
So that was the reason it didn't feel so stressful, I think. If I wasn't in front of her or a girl, I would like to slap myself for the stupidity of thinking, she would have less customers.
"Yeah. I got a question because of that.", I said a little embarrassed.
"Sure, go ahead."
"Well my god said, he wouldn't go to next Denatus, so I don't know if I need to register somewhere that I became Level 2, to be honest.", I explain, but giving her another reason.
"Too busy or too lazy? Doesn't matter, there were a few such occasions before, even though they are rare. Like all adventurers you tell the guild you advanced and that gets you automatically on the list for the Denatus. Normally your god would attend, to be in control and make sure you get a good alias, but I guess you need to hope for the best.", she says with a smile that looked more like a smirk to me.
I groan: "Oh wonderful."
"Everything alright?", we hear a voice from the door and looking over it seems to be Syr, who just asked.
"Our little guy here needs to pray for a good name as his god doesn't go to the next Denatus.", Mia laughs this time openly. But I don't know if she just finds it funny or wanted Freya to know, so she could be a little helpful, when the time comes.
"Oh is that so. Don't worry it will be alright.", she tries to build me up. She didn't know that my greatest worry was her interest and not an alias.
"Guess I will only know afterwards.", I mumble.

2 weeks later, Denatus gathering.
"Let the show BEGIN!", a loud male with an elephant mask yells.
"Why is Ganesha always the one to host this event?", a god asks.
"Well he wants to and the most of us don't bother with it.", another one answers.
And so after a couple of hours the meeting advanced to new aliases for adventurers. And as only a couple of them advance in the 3 months between the gatherings, it was the turn of a certain reincarnator.
"Level 2, Alexandros. No familia mentioned. Somebody wants to speak up?", Ganesha asks like the rounds before.
But this time nobody spoke up, so a few murmurs arrise here and there.
"Well like in such situations, no restrictions!", he says with a little smile and quite a few gods smirk at the remark. Not many like embarrassing names for their children, but quite a lot have fun when it is about others and as nobody talked, they had free reins. Or at least they thought.
"Something neutral would be good.", a female voice says slowly and all the others looked in the direction, why she must spoil their fun, but became quite silent when they saw who spoke up just now.
Freya.
The most powerful familia head after Zeus and Hera vanished because of their defeat against the one-eyed black Dragon.
"Is he your familia member, Freya?", a small redhead next to her, asks.
"No, but he is an acquaintance, so I hope the name is neutral as not much is known about him aside from that his main weapon is a spear.", she explains.
"Oh and isn't he someone you also know? I heard he met with your members, Loki?", she added.
"Really? I wasn't aware. Well neutral should be easy. How about Skewer?"
"You find Skewer neutral?", Freya asks sarcastically.
"No, I just like them. Especially if the meat goes into my mouth after eine freshly grilled."
"You are such a foodie. Well any good ideas?"
Then another redhead with a eyepatch raises her hand.
"I have one."
"Well Hephaestus, what do you think?"
"How about..."

A real cliffhanger, even if I get roasted by you guys for it.
It just feels right at this point.
But on the other hand it gives you all the opportunity
to share your opinions on a good alias.
If something is better than the one I have,
I will adopt it, so like the ones you would like to see.
