Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Author's Note: I want to inform everyone of one thing to avoid some wasting their time since it's very annoying.

I wanted to tell you that there won't be a harem since I'm really a beginning author, I don't feel capable of writing a logical harem. So I'm just going to write a single romance, that's it (maybe a second waifu if I change my mind but the chances are really slim lol).

===============================

"Where am I??" thought Illumi, inspecting his surroundings.

"If you're wondering where you are, know that we're in a cave not far from the city," explained Hiro, sitting not far away.

"Why am I still alive?" Illumi couldn't help but ask Hiro directly, who to his great surprise seemed to be perfectly fine.

According to his understanding of the situation during their fight, Hiro had used some strange movement technique but after that, nothing, it's just pitch black.

And his current situation looked bad since he was aware of many things Hiro seemed to want to keep secret.

Based on his assassin experience, it would be simpler and more logical for Hiro to just kill him to avoid bad surprises later.

"But since I'm still alive, that means Hiro cares about our family's opinion," thought Illumi, analyzing the general situation.

While Illumi was in his own little world, Hiro observed him while thinking about his next move.

"I don't want Father and Grandpa to monitor me even more than they currently do, so the kill option is off the table," Hiro mentally sighed, facing his situation.

"It would be counterproductive to eliminate you when you were supposed to be monitoring us," expressed Hiro calmly.

Even if the conversation seemed calm, the two were judging and analyzing each other's sincerity, looking for a weakness to exploit to gain the upper hand in this discussion.

Illumi had every bone in his body broken. Normally this wouldn't be a problem for him after all, he was a Zoldyck.

But he had Hiro in front of him, who could move incredibly fast in an instant, and their current environment was extremely narrow, not to mention his frightening evasion ability.

"The escape option isn't an option. So all that's left is negotiation," he concluded mentally.

(Author's Note: Illumi, unlike Silva and Kikyo, didn't understand that Hiro anticipates his attacks. So to him, Hiro is just able to dodge his needles thanks to his senses).

If someone told Illumi one day that he would be backed against the wall by his little brother who's still far from reaching his full potential, he would have taken them for a fool and killed them pointlessly.

"I can guess what you're thinking Illumi, but any escape attempt would be futile. And as you can see now, I have no injuries from our fight," said Hiro, exposing his body to show Illumi he's clearly the strongest at the moment.

"And also, I want to make a contract with you and if we agree, all this will be behind us," proposed Hiro.

Although calm on the surface, Hiro could only rely on the Wolf Devil to resolve this situation.

"I really need to get more contracts with other devils and not just talk with Power and Angel, or else I'll be screwed someday," Hiro mentally cursed.

.

.

.

After some negotiation with Illumi, the contract rules were established. Thanks to his fusion with the Wolf Devil, who agreed to the same contract in exchange for more future information about his world, Hiro was able to re-fuse with him.

"Now, Wolf Devil, I want you to make a contract with Illumi for him to keep secret all my abilities and information related to my powers. In exchange, we won't harm him unless he ever shows hostility against our interests," explained Hiro, telling the Wolf Devil what contract to make.

"I see, but to do that, you'll have to let me take control for a bit," said the Wolf Devil.

There was no danger for Hiro in letting the Wolf Devil take control, since in their contract it says that during fusion, Hiro takes control of the resulting body.

After the Wolf Devil howled and transformed, he concluded the contract with Illumi then withdrew.

"I should head back quickly, Kilua must be worried. Unfortunately my clothes are ruined, but thanks to fusing with the Wolf Devil I was able to heal by drinking Illumi's blood while he was unconscious," thought Hiro before wanting to leave.

"And also, since I'm aware of your presence here, can we stay in contact? I'd like to earn money and also obtain various pieces of information. Of course, you'll receive a portion of the earnings," Hiro quickly explained, remembering he currently had no contacts with the mafia or other hidden organizations.

"Is this really the same person I fought and who managed to beat me during our negotiations?" Illumi couldn't help but doubt a little, since Hiro had gone from being cold with him to his friendly side he shows everyone.

_____back to the present_______

"I'd like more work, preferably something that pays more," requested Hiro, staring into Illumi's expressionless face.

"Again? You really like working, huh? Or maybe it has to do with your strange powers and the disappearance of your targets' corpses?" continued Illumi, directing his gaze to Hiro's.

"Illumi, remember our contract," Hiro didn't say more.

But that was enough for Illumi to understand this topic of conversation isn't welcome, at least not until Hiro trusts him enough.

"Sometimes I wonder if I should have listened to the Wolf Devil and devoured him," Hiro mentally sighed.

When Hiro defeated Illumi, he was tempted to devour him because of the new bestial instincts the Wolf Devil had given him.

But fortunately he was able to hold back and the downsides of devouring Illumi were greater than the benefits. So Hiro just settled for drinking a bit of his blood, despite his urges.

"No need to remind me of that contract," said Illumi, handing him a USB drive.

"You'll find all the info about the target in there. And as usual, he's a 200th floor fighter," explained Illumi.

Hiro nodded his head and put the USB drive in his pocket.

After his fight with Illumi, Hiro understood he needs to get stronger fast. Otherwise, one day he'll encounter a more powerful opponent in unexpected situations and could end up having a miserable death.

Ultimately, he decided to take on people stronger than himself and, as a certain smoking hunter told Kilua: "The outcome of a Nen fight is never certain." Hiro kept this phrase etched in his mind going forward.

"And about the so-called Neon Nostrade? Were you able to get a response from the Nostrade family for my request?" asked Hiro hopefully.

Hiro wasn't sure if Neon had awakened her power yet, but he preferred to bet on it. Best case scenario, he'd have an effective fortune teller, and worst case, he'd just get rejected.

=================================

Author's Note: For you to easily understand Hiro's plan during his negotiations with Illumi, you need to know the concept of a hybrid in the Chainsaw Man universe, to avoid confusing with the fiend . And if you haven't read the manga, go check the wiki, there's an explanation there.

But here, you should understand that when Hiro uses his contract with the Wolf Devil to fuse, he's essentially a temporary hybrid, of course. An example of a hybrid is Denji with Pochita.

And yes, a hybrid can make contracts with devils, like the case of Denji and Power when she was going to sacrifice herself. But there's no information in the manga or on sites to confirm me if the devil fused with the human to obtain the hybrid can still make a contract. Here, it's my fanfic, so I say yes 🤫
