Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Where is Daddy?

Five years later.

At Atlanta Railway Station, a young she-wolf in a yellow dress was pushing a luggage trolley with a little girl dressed in a white dress was happily sitting on the suitcases. Her long blonde hair fell to her waist, and draped loosely over her shoulders.

Anyone who would look at her would find the little girl adorable and cute at a glance.

Besides the girl was a little boy, who was wearing a gray hoodie, jeans shorts, and blake sneakers. He carried a bag on his back and followed Emma with a calm expression. He was Emma's son, Asher.

"Mommy, can we dine out with Auntie Avery and have a big meal later?" he asked.

"If she wants to, then we can." Emma winked and smiled at her daughter, Ella.

Ella laughed and blinked her eyes cutely. "If I beg her, she will definitely say yes!"

"Don't worry. Auntie Avery will go out with us, she’s a rich and kind she-wolf," Asher added.

The two kids looked around curiously. It was the first time they had returned to Atlanta since they were born. They wanted to meet the werewolf they read in the books and bedtime stories Emma told them every night.

They wanted to meet their wolf one day like their mother.

As soon as they walked out of the reception hall, they heard a surprised voice. "Ella! Asher!"

"Auntie Avery!" Ella cried out in joy and reached out for a hug.

Avery immediately strode over, opened her arms, picked up Ella, and kissed her on the cheeks. Afterwards, she looked at Emma and Asher, who were standing next to her. She smiled and greeted, "You're finally back! Did you get tired on your trip?"

"Auntie Avery, we are both well-behaved," Asher said proudly.

Ella immediately nodded and echoed, "Yes, we didn't make any noise, nor did we cause any trouble for Mommy."

"Really? Who said that she would go to the toilet alone? And who almost got locked in there and couldn't get out? Fortunately, the stewardess had a spare key or you’ll be locked in there until take-off."

Emma ushered Avery to place her down after her mother ratted her out.

Ella grinned and felt a little embarrassed. Then, she quickly changed the topic. "Auntie Avery, Asher and I are starving. We want to have a big meal, and Mommy agrees. Can you treat us to dinner?"

"You little bandits, you are asking me for a treat as soon as you came back. Fortunately, I've had enough money on me. Let's go! I know a good place."

Avery laughed and replied to Emma, "Emma, it's been almost five years, right? What made you decide to come back?"

"I have to come back to pay my respects to my mother." Emma sighed. Her mother always taken an important place in her heart.

Nodding in understanding, Avery asked, "When are you going to leave?"

"A week later. The kids say they want to wander around more here. They wanted to see the werewolf." Emma said, rolling her eyes.

"What? You will only stay for one week? It's too short! Come on, make it a month at least. I'll pay for your food and accommodation." Avery tried hard to persuade Emma to stay longer in Atlanta.

However, Emma did not want to stay in here too long. She had long hated that place. Even if she had a father who was related to her by blood, she did not want to mention him.

After Avery’s treat, the two kids were tired. So, they went straight back to Avery's apartment to rest. After Ella and Asher fell asleep, Emma and Avery, started catching up with each other.

"Is your father aware that you have two pups already?" Avery asked curiously.

"Of course not! I can't let them know, nor will I let them. I don't want to have anything to do with that pack for the rest of my life." Emma's voice filled with fury and resentment.

"Yeah, you are independent now. You have a stable job, and you can take care of your pups. You don't have to ask them for anything."

After that, Avery whispered in Emma's ear, "These two little guys still don't know who their father is, right?"

Emma's expression immediately tensed up. She shook her head and said, "I will never let them know even if it kills me."

Avery frowned. "It's really strange. Logically speaking, your sister, Charlotte, should have mated with the Lycan King five years ago."

Emma shook her head. "I don't know, and I don't want to know either."

Early the next morning, Emma brought a bunch of flower and placed them in front of her mother's tombstone.

She secretly wiped her tears dry several times as she didn't want her pups to see her crying.

"Mommy, is Grandma sleeping in there?"

Ella looked at Emma with tearful eyes. She had not understood life-and-death yet at her young age.

Emma pursed her lips and smiled. "Yes, she is sleeping inside."

"When is she going to wake up?"

"Ella, Grandma won't wake up. She will sleep there for a long, long time." Emma explained, trying hard to suppress her sadness.

Ella tilted her head and thought for a moment before asking, "Mommy, our grandma is here. Then, where is our daddy?"

Asher also stopped weeding and looked up at Emma curiously.

Emma was stunned for a moment, and then she made up her mind to lie to her kids. "Your daddy is over there." She pointed to the tombstone on the other side of the cemetery.

She had to tell a huge lie to dispel the kids' curiosities. And that was the right time to eliminate their ideas of looking for their father.

After staying in front of her mother's tomb for two hours, Emma held the kids' hands and walked around the cemetery. When she found a young man's photo, she bowed and apologized to the dead man while lying to her kids that it was their father’s grave.

"But he doesn't look like me or Asher." Ella blinked her eyes and said with curiosity.

Asher looked at his mother with his eyes, then looked at the man on the tombstone before he puffed up his cheeks.

Asher said to himself, "Mommy's lies can only fool Ella. She can't fool me at all. This man is not our daddy."

Despite knowing the truth, he didn’t expose his mother.

Back at Avery's apartment, Emma stayed with Avery in the study room to see Avery's latest design draft, while the two kids were fighting for a TV channel in the bedroom room.

Ella liked to watch cartoons, while Asher liked to watch the world news, so they argued with each other.

"Asher, please let me watch cartoons! I want to watch cartoons!"

"There's nothing interesting about that. It's childish. The World News is the best, you should know what’s going on around the world." Asher picked up the remote control and switched the channels.

Suddenly, Asher switched to a channel and saw a man on the screen. The male anchor was covering a piece of news with a voice-over, "Breaking news. The current president of The Anderson Group, Liam Anderson, has made it to the top of the world's wealthiest list at a young age of 29 years old. It's shocking and gratifying. In addition, I just learned that the engagement ceremony of Mr. Liam and Miss Charlotte will be held in the castle this Sunday. Again, Congratulations to them!"

The male anchor's voice was pleasant to the ear, and the man who occupied the entire screen was handsome.

In the background picture, there was a mature and stable man stands before the bookshelf. He had a breathtakingly handsome face, with dashing domineering brows, perfect charming facial outlines, and his pair of eyes that were as dark as night seemed to contain a blackhole that attracted everything through the screen.

His dark blue suit made him look like a king, who was noble and charming.

"Oh my god! That is the face of a father I imagined!" Ella looked at the screen and exclaimed. Afterwards, she looked back at her brother and said, "Asher, he looks so much like you. Do you think he is our daddy?"

Asher narrowed his eyes and said, "I don't know."

After that, Ella puffed up her cheeks and exclaimed, "Oh, no! Mommy said that Daddy was already sleeping under the ground. So, he cannot be our daddy, right?"

"We can't be sure," Asher answered mysteriously as he kept the name "Liam Anderson" in his mind.

"Asher, I want Daddy," Ella pouted and cried out pitifully.

Asher glanced at his sister and handed her the remote control. "Here you are. Watch the cartoons."

"Thank you, Asher." Ella immediately took the remote control, switched to the cartoon channel, and watched it with great interest.

Meanwhile, Asher picked up his iPad from the side, clicked on the search button, and then searched for every information about Liam Anderson.

Asher skillfully slid his chubby hand on the screen, and clicked on Liam's profile. It was just a few lines of introduction, attached with the photo of his company, in which there were two connected high-rise buildings. It looked like huge pillars connecting the sky and the earth, standing in the center of Atlanta. The company address was also listed at the bottom.

Asher frowned and slid back to from the bed. Seeing the latest trending news, Asher thought that if that man really was their father, he could not marry another woman.

But how could Asher figure out whether that man was their daddy or not?

Just by looking at his appearance, that man was indeed very similar to Asher.

"Ella, do you want to find our daddy?"

Hearing his question, she eagerly nodded her head. "Sure, I want to."

Asher counted on his fingers. It would be Sunday in four days. He waved his hand and gestured Ella to come closer, "Then go on an adventure with me! Let’s find our dad!"
