Chapter 65: Chp. 65 Chonky Crabbies
But even when Paul covered for Rita so she could have time to practice, it only bought about a few days' time until the Queen had enough. So just as observed by Paul the Sea Devils attacked the major settlements.
But thanks to his warning many were ready yet that was not enough to defeat the Sea Devils. Gordic did attack as the Queen chose it because it is the largest and strongest of the Seven Sea Devils.
But Paul fought it off shore while the recently trained men as well as Jako's team helped the people of Port Oasis fight the Sea Monsters that tried to attack the town.
Thankfully due to their strict training the newbie Harpoonist were able to survive albeit some getting lethal wounds that Paul had to operate. He did not kill Gordic as he planned to take the beast for himself.
And due to his arrangements, Union Busan was in the Trade Port as well. Which turned into a two way battle as Wormtooka faced Rita, meanwhile Kana and Bota faced the Kraken that attacked the Trade Port.
Also having Kentrassi did help a lot in containing Kraken who was fighting in the Sea and on the surface. Rita followed Paul's plan and fooled Wormtooka into capturing her but it was nothing more than a mimicry tentacle that is filled with Genod's venom.
This gave Rita a chance to deal a severe blow to Wormtooka killing the Sea Devil herself but this event was not without loss. Wormtooka's minions were so numerous when it attacked that many of Union Busan's ship integrity was damaged.
But Rita was forced to reveal herself in the end but it became a sensation within the people of Union Busan and Trade Port saying that Rita is an angel protecting the people from the Sea monsters.
Akroma was almost destroyed but good thing Paul sent Teon Ma who recently recovered and was enhanced a bit by Paul to fight of Bazrah. Of course Paul had to make Teon Ma wear a mask but also had him accidentally flash off his six star tattoo.
New York Floating Island was able to defend itself due to Clark Miller's presence and other floating Settlements were able to fight of the Sea Monsters because they prepared enough for the attack.
This event had made the Queen aware that the sea has another queen that could contend with her power and it was not a good feeling for her. She now loathed Rita to the core as she had felt her become stronger after she absorbed the essence of Wormtooka.
Paul had to intervene a bit as he influenced the reporters and the people that finally there is a hybrid that could control sea monsters. They spread stories of how this might possibly a power Rita gained because her mother persevered while she was inflicted with the fish disease.
Tales about Bota being superhuman also circulated in the world after a few days. Kana's, Rita's and his face was shown to many as they were hailed as heroes for driving back the Sea Devils, evidences about Rita killing Wormtooka also spread.
This means there are three of the seven devils dead, while four were critically injured in the last fight. This spurred the whole world to call for a meeting to finally kill of the Sea Devils by Union Busan.
There was also another reason being that Union Busan tells the people that they already know of the source of how the Sea Monsters came to be.
But since almost everybody faced losses this time, the meeting will be held at least three months from now in the Floating City of New York. The whole world was abuzz as this was the first time they can see hope of ever reclaiming the world from the sea monsters.
[Two months later]
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" Kana looked angry and ready to kill as she stared at the five meter tall, ten meter wide crabs that are in front of her.
"Like I said, I got some eggs from Skutoom when I beat that thing silly before. So I used my knowledge to alter their behavior and physiology into something different since they were not fully developed. This new breed is an omnivorous type of crustacean that prefers seaweed rather than flesh…" Paul was in a lab uniform as he explained while Kana is being held back by Rita as her bloodlust to kill Skutoom is on full drive.
"But why did you hatch them and raise them into something that could potentially be as dangerous as Skutoom?" Bota was a bit calm as he looked at the ten crabs that just lay there peacefully not even bothering them at all.
"Because I can and I am curious, but other than that they can be placed to be Rita's body guards. You would not know when she'll send a Sea Devil to kill her out of the blue and these guys are the perfect ones to be the defensive walls that would do that, let me show you their specs…" Paul pressed a button and the platform they were on moved.
His words made the people present from Teon Ma, Kana, Bota, Jako , Sonia, Gongtae and Rita silent as they had never thought about Rita might be assassinated by the Queen. They already understood from Paul that the current Queen is intimidated by Rita who has the power to take everything from her.
The whole command of the sea which will give humans enough time to figure out many things, like cures for the Fish Disease that was only the human body rejecting the Virus. Paul did make one but it was not a cure, rather a medicine that would have the body accept the virus but it has some drawbacks.
Though Paul had not found everything yet the usual ones were people gaining scales on some parts. He had the computer run simulations for this a few weeks ago and most of the time the results show that people might gain a few fish like features.
But that was for later as Paul and the others appeared to the enclosure of the crabs he is going to give to Rita. The others were slack jawed as they saw the nine other crabs that were now scurrying around a large pool filled with kelp and fish.
They were currently in a small part of the Underground Laboratory that Paul built under Union Hong Kong. He had been able to access the sea since he had the bots dig up a tunnel where he can have Gordic swim through to get inside a large cave lake on the underground Lab.
It took about two weeks of breaking the mutant whale until every virus inside of him was purged and made him immune to anymore mutagens in the Sea. He then performed a taming technique he can perform on this clone of his thus making Gordic a pet.
He fashioned the whale a platform in its back where people can get in, it was like a giant Saddle that was two meters tall, twenty meters long and ten meters wide. It looked like a metallic back pack on Gordic who also wore a light armor Paul designed for it.
The saddle is made up of specially forged titanium alloy that Paul learned from the dwarves of middle earth. It made the whole platform resistant to extreme pressure down to the 10,000meters in depth.
There was a door on the side which one can enter and there they would face a different area as it was also riddled with expansion formations that Paul was able to make up to a 10x40x20 in area.
Which means Paul can have a house inside the Platform and a mini garden as well. But when he finished this he questioned himself why was so he obsessed in making different versions of RVs.
The inside was also equipped with a gravity control module which makes sure that even if Gordic was upside down the feet of the people inside are on the floor. Though a rumble can still be felt or minor vibrations that do not need the body to be properly orientated to be felt.
He had picked up the Gang in Union Busan as well as Port Oasis to show them some of the hatched eggs that Paul nurtured. Ten he'll give to Rita which were crabs that were also purged of infectious mutagens.
Thus only left with the abilities ones have that are innate to its body, so if someone like Doctor Foid will try that slapstick science he did it will not work anymore. The Virus will be dead meanwhile the changes will stay on the affected sea monster.
Paul only has a few of these purging agents he made but he felt that maybe he might not need to if the people here would adapt to the virus themselves. Now the platform their standing on arrived to another corner of the Lab which was covered.
Paul does not want them to see the other projects inside other than Noah and Ling who he was quite fond of as the two kids were total mechanical and computer geniuses.
But they were still only on the Ship of Paul that was anchored in Port Oasis. He had assigned the two kids to control two large seven meter tall bulky robots to dig up soil from the bottom to bring to the top.
There Paul had Mayor Mao prepare a farming project as more and more soil are carried up to fill areas which are a bit shallow.
Paul had given a few coconut seeds for them to make as that tree can provide a lot for the people once they are grown in the port.
"Mister, can you already tell us how these crabs are different from Skutoom." Teon Ma knew how Kana hated the Sea Devil.
"Right, like I said they are omnivorous but prefers kelp more than other foods. They will eat some fish occasionally but that is mostly to get the needed nutrients it lacks from eating kelp. They are gentle as well as quite intelligent so they will be able to understand human speech albeit with a thought process of a five year old…" Paul had already shocked them when he brought them down here.
They were totally confused as to how he built all of this but most of all how he made Gordic docile and act tame in from of him. Even Rita was confused as Gordic showed submission as well as fear towards Paul from the poor Sea Devil.
"… physical abilities is that mostly found on a crab, tough armors that even tank shells cannot pierce which means they are tougher that Skutoom. While their parent is somewhat an ugly combination of a mud crab and a coconut crab, I modeled them before they hatched to Raspberry crabs…" Paul made the pose Will Smith has on a meme showing something with his hands.
"…behold the cute and chonky crabs that will protect Rita as well as give her company to play with! They do not have horns or barbs other than the tip of their feet and pincers, but they are tougher that Skutom in defense that even that thing cannot piece the shells of these cuties!! They can grow up to ten meters tall and twenty meters wide weighing up to 300 tons of pure protective crabby muscles!" Paul looked proud of his creations and just in time the crabs noticed Rita's presence.
"Heh!? Mommy? I am not your mom!" Rita exclaimed as she heard the thoughts of the crabs.
"Too late! When I made them I put in some of your DNA so they would imprint on you easier so you are technically their mom!" Paul laughed like an evil villain as he saw the chonky cute gigantic crabs got towards Rita excitedly.
"B-but I'm too young to be a mommy!" Rita was a bit unsure what to do but when she placed a hand on one of the crabs she calmed down.
"Oh, you want a name?" Rita was instantly hooked as she followed the crabs on one side as the one that was shown earlier arrived and ran to Rita as well.
"Ummm, so they will protect Rita?" Teon asked as he looked at his daughter enjoying her time being with the crabs.
"Yeah, so technically you are the grandpa of the crabs. Too bad you are missing the necessary parts down there to make uncles or aunts for the crabbies. I totally forgot to look for them when I picked you away from death… whoa what the hell Kana?" Paul shrugged his shoulders as he was suddenly grabbed by Kana.
"What did you just say?!" Kana was glaring at Paul's eyes like a predator as she felt there was something wrong in Paul's words earlier.
"Umm, Teon Ma has no ding dong down there? Wait, are you like into him or…" before Paul can finish Kana threw him very far away as she blushed at what Paul was about to say.
Teon Ma and the others were stunned as they realized that Kana might have a thing for the man.
"*Sigh* That's harsh man…" Gongtae patted Teon Ma's shoulders when he heard of the plight of the guy.
"Bro, if you feel like talking about it we are here for you." Jako also looked sad as he patted Teon Ma on the other shoulder.
"I don't mind, I'm already grateful that I am alive and well to watch my kids grow up at least." Teon Ma said as he looked towards his daughter who enjoyed herself and towards his Son that was looking at him dubiously on the pants.
"Wanna say something brat?!" Teon Ma felt irritated for some reason seeing the eyes of Bota.
"*Whistle* Nope dad, I'll go play with my nieces and nephews for a moment…" Bota ran away as he felt danger at the moment.
"Aww, too bad sis. Now you can't go for the dad, but you can't go for the son too as I have eyes on him…" Sonia went to Kana's side as she consoled the sulking girl.
"…" Kana stared at Sonia's eyes when she heard the last part making her look at Bota being flung around by the chonky crabs seeing no sign of the kid maturing.
"So you like younger kids, should I call you a pedophile then? Bota is currently 17 so he is underaged." Kana asked coldly.
"W-what?!" Sonia was hit by a critical blow but she shook her head and said. "Matters not, I'll wait till he is ripe hehehe…"
Bota felt chills in his back for some reason, meanwhile Paul lead the men to another side of the enclosure where a door was. Getting inside the men were wide eyed as they saw a series of weapons that were made by Paul.
"Whoa! This is amazing!" Jako was looking like a ten year old boy seeing the weapons inside.
"You can choose those that are compatible with you, you can go test that in this training room if you'd like." Paul then left the men there to go play with the dangerous toys while he went to Kana.
"Don't lump these kids with Skutoom, I made them into something that is harmless to humans unless provoked. Also wouldn't it be funny to watch Skutoom being beaten up by its kids? We only need Rita to fully control them then tomorrow we can train them to fight." Paul said as he looked at the field where Bota and Rita were playing with the bus sized crabs.
"Train? Fight?" Sonia raised her brows as she looked at Paul and then daydreamed as she stared into his eyes.
"Yes, since Rita is here then you can train the crabs on how to defend from other Sea Monsters. They might be strong but if they are to survive in the wild then they must know how to fight the ones raised in the wild. They are only one and a half month old, they grew fast because I helped them develop using a special drug…"
"…yet despite being gigantic and seemingly cutely menacing, they have no experience in fighting or defending themselves. So I want you and the others to train them how to defend themselves and Rita in the Sea." Paul's words made Kana look up and see the smile of Rita as she played with the crabs.
"I have advanced diver equipment as well as simulated environments in this laboratory that will help. We need them for next month to be ready because it is likely the Queen will call upon at least half of the world's Sea Monsters to defend herself. Also you can see that the shells of the crabs are uniquely shaped so six of them can for a cube of protection on Rita while the rest fights. So right now, you can either look at the new weapons I made or should I at least improve the ones that you own?" Paul made the two women look at the door where the men were excitedly playing around with the harpoonist guns.
"Ugh, men." Sonia said as she rolled her eyes.
