Joseph quickly escorted Jaylene out of the gate with the help of a security guard.

It was only when Jaylene stepped outside and saw the city lights that she realized the cruise ship had docked. The buffet and celebration banquet on the cruise ship were just beginning.

Joseph didn't stay for the buffet or the celebration. Instead, he took Jaylene through the crowd and walked quickly towards the parking lot on the shoreline.

Jaylene drove on the way back, as Joseph started complaining about stomach pain as soon as he got in the car. His stomach illness hadn't gotten better, and the small bowl of millet porridge he ate last night didn't do much.

When they got back home, Joseph's face was somewhat pale due to his stomach pain, and he lay quietly on the sofa, like a child who had suffered all kinds of grievances.
