Chapter 24: Chapter 24: The Attack

February 29th.

On this day, the streets were sparsely populated. Even those who were out often took out their phones to check them from time to time. Inside coffee shops, the television screens, no matter which channel, displayed scenes of Anchorage Base and the image of H'el sunbathing.

As evening approached, the sky darkened, and the city's streets grew empty. The neon lights that usually lit up the night seemed dim in comparison. Finally, there was some action on the television screens that viewers had been eagerly anticipating.

Even the salarymen who were working overtime stopped what they were doing to watch the live broadcast. Families who were supposed to be having dinner at this time discussed the extraterrestrial, all while eating.

Taxi drivers parked by the roadside temporarily halted their busy schedules to listen to news about the extraterrestrial's actions.

"Lawrence, come over quickly. The extraterrestrial is making a move."

"I wonder what he's going to tell us."

"I think it's a punishment for the Pacific Rim Coalition."

"It may not concern us at all."

"You never know. He might be planning to conquer the world?"

"Ha..."

Audiences everywhere were engaged in discussions, treating this as entertainment. After all, no extraterrestrial had ever shown such an understanding of Earth's people, let alone engaged in news broadcasting. It was something the people of Earth would remember him for.

Anchorage Base.

H'el stretched his spine as he rose from the dome's exterior. He stood tall, gazing up at the sky. The night was devoid of stars, and thick clouds hung overhead, making the air feel humid.

Despite the possibility of rain, which wouldn't bother him, he was merely dispersing it with a gust of wind. He suspended himself in the air.

Cameras on the square moved towards H'el, their flashing lights constant. His figure floated gently, his black hair framing his deep and captivating eyes. With his rugged and commanding facial features, he exuded a unique and enchanting charisma.

H'el soared into the air and landed on a podium, causing a commotion among the reporters. Excited journalists wanted to come up for interviews, but they were blocked by Jupiter, his newly appointed secretary from a couple of days ago, who helped maintain order.

H'el, with his rugged and commanding appearance, smiled as he opened his arms and leaned on the podium. He spoke slowly: "Everyone, the reason why I haven't left is that I want to conquer the world."

His magnetic and resonant voice carrying a captivating allure. However, what he said caused a stir among the attending journalists.

On the television screens, viewers who were watching the live broadcast were left stunned.

This was indeed a major news event.

H'el was about to continue speaking when the sky suddenly released a fine drizzle, but it didn't affect the reporters' excitement over the major news.

"Please wait a moment; I don't like this weather," H'el said and immediately generated a sonic boom cloud. The powerful shockwave swept through the front rows of journalists and cameramen, causing them to stumble. They quickly adjusted their equipment and pointed their cameras at the dark sky filled with thick clouds.

H'el had disappeared into the cloud, leaving them questioning where he had gone.

In the midst of the dense cloud cover, it suddenly tore open, dispersed, and was pushed far away. Within seconds, the once thick clouds and the drizzle that had just started had vanished completely.

The black night sky was revealed, with stars twinkling like gemstones.

Gasps of astonishment echoed through the crowd.

H'el had vanished, leaving the night sky clear and starry.

People were left in awe of this extraordinary display of power.

The journalists and photographers were in shock, their eyes wide open, unable to contain their astonishment.

The ability to casually change massive weather patterns, create hurricanes with a breath, and disperse dark clouds—this kind of mythical power felt like the arrival of a god or a legend.

Their previous knowledge of H'el's abilities, from surveillance footage, paled in comparison to the clear demonstration they were witnessing now.

The viewers in front of their televisions were left with their mouths agape.

H'el descended from the sky like a god, landing gracefully back on the podium. The long, black overcoat behind him trailed down to his heels. He wore a calm expression with a hint of a smile.

"From the moment I began speaking, Earth's finances, economy, banks, and networks have been locked down," H'el continued, his voice unwavering.

H'el paid no heed to the shocked expressions of the crowd as he calmly outlined his plan.

"I will create a grand empire on Earth."

"Starting tomorrow, I will spend one day cleaning up the most powerful nations under my feet. I urge all nations to see the reality and refrain from unnecessary resistance."

"I have no desire for excessive bloodshed. Ordinary citizens, please do not riot. This is an upper-level change that does not concern you."

"I can assure you that your lives in the future will be a hundred times better than they are now because I have no need to oppress you. Please look forward to better days ahead with enthusiasm."

"At the same time, do not worry about the extraterrestrial monsters in the Pacific Rim... They're not a threat to me. I'll show you."

H'el remained polite and his smile radiated an elegant grace, much like a noble.

"Now, satellite cameras or helicopters, please go to the Trench in the Pacific Ocean. An extraterrestrial visitor is landing there," Jupiter directed the journalists, cameramen, who quickly rushed to the prepared helicopters, following H'el's sonic boom cloud trail.

H'el didn't wait. He generated a sonic boom cloud at his location, ascending into the sky. He accelerated twice in the sky and seemed to be wearing a sonic boom cloud skirt as he traversed the clear night sky, leaving a rapid trail of air.

Arriving near the monstrous creature, there was no battle. H'el flew behind it and lightly touched it with one finger, accelerating and causing the creature to roar in anger.

When the journalists and cameramen hurriedly arrived, they saw the monster suddenly soar from the ocean into the sky, creating massive waves. H'el used one finger to lift it off the ocean and hover it in mid-air, where the creature struggled and roared furiously.

Under the clear night sky with the turbulent waves, the icy wind brushed against H'el's black hair. His demeanor remained calm, and a slight smile adorned his face as he effortlessly lifted the nearly hundred-meter-tall creature into the air. It was an awe-inspiring and heart-stopping sight beneath the starry sky.

The new secretary, Jupiter, provided timely explanations.

"Everyone, that's the latest monster detected by the radar. It's the largest extraterrestrial monster in terms of weight to date, standing close to a hundred meters tall and weighing 2,700 tons."

This monster was the one that appeared in the opening scene of the Pacific Rim movie, where the protagonist and his brother, Yancy, piloted their Jaeger to fight against this monster. Unfortunately, Yancy sacrificed himself in the battle, marking the start of the film.

In the eyes of many, H'el controlled the biological magnetic field, which extended from his fingers and wrapped around the sickle-headed monster.

In an instant, the entire sickle-headed monster shrank suddenly as if it was being crushed. It was so painful that it couldn't howl out and died immediately. Blue blood seeped out on the surface of the body, but it was tightly wrapped by his biological magnetic field.

The body of the sickle-headed monster was completely balled up into a circle with a diameter of thirty meters. H'el held his hand empty, and the biomagnetic field shrank. The round body shrank violently, suddenly shrinking in a large circle, from a diameter of thirty meters to a sphere.

Shrinking, twenty meters, ten meters, five meters, one meter, it looked extremely shocking under the starry sky, until finally, the ball, which was pressed by the biological magnetic field and was only the size of a basketball, was spinning on the tip of his finger.

Seeing this scene, the journalists and the audience in front of their television screens were once again stunned, their mouths wide open, unable to find words, and only stared in amazement at H'el beneath the starry sky.

This level of power far exceeded their imaginations and shook them to their core.

Suddenly, H'el's brows furrowed as he glanced towards the distant starry sky. With a casual gesture, he tossed the spherical object from his fingertip down into the Pacific Ocean. His profound gaze flickered.

"Everyone, please leave this place immediately. Three nuclear missiles are heading in this direction."

"As I walk out from the nuclear blast, I hope all nations will be sensible and not resist unnecessarily."

H'el's expression turned stern as he stood under the starry sky, alone and resolute. While his bio-magnetic field enveloped his surroundings.
