Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Wandering Planet

H'el controlled the battle suit, deactivating the Kryptonian atmosphere shield and once again allowing his body to be subjected to the heavy feeling of dozens of extra pounds.

He strode toward the command center, his black cape billowing behind him.

In his mind, he began to think about modifying the battle suit again. At the very least, he wanted to add more capabilities, such as manipulating basic particles and the four fundamental forces of nature, starting with his own bio-magnetic field.

His vision would encompass the entire electromagnetic spectrum, with selective perception and focus. He could see every electromagnetic wave clearly, and his bio-magnetic field was detailed down to the particle level. With some technological assistance to control electromagnetic waves, he could manipulate them all at will.

Of course, in the future, when he became even more powerful, he would be able to do all of this without the need for additional equipment.

Returning to the DC Universe, H'el had numerous thoughts and plans, but everything needed to proceed in an orderly manner. There was no need to rush; everything depended on the availability of materials, which he currently lacked for modifying the suit.

Instead, his current priority was not the suit but the spaceship.

"H'el, how much time is needed for the conversion of crystal core energy and the fusion reactors into crystal core engine energy?" H'el entered the command center and inquired.

"5,453,120 seconds," replied the AI assistant.

Two months, huh...

"Two months from now, will the ship be able to support a jump to the location of Krypton after the energy conversion is complete?" H'el pondered, and at this moment, he unexpectedly felt a pang of nostalgia and a heavy heart. The reality that Krypton had already exploded was difficult to bear.

Of course, H'el understood very well the purpose of his mission: to salvage some mineral materials ejected during Krypton's explosion in order to modify the spaceship.

However, inevitably, the planet where he had lived for over twenty years, the one that had once echoed with joy and laughter, held his lofty ambitions, and contained his friends, had now vanished into thin air, leaving only regrets.

"Are you sure you want to jump to the location of Krypton after 5,453,120 seconds? Master, during the jump, it may cause damage to the brain currently in the tank, and the spaceship's hull has previously been damaged by meteorites, with repairs performed by detaching some spaceship assistants and engineering machinery. However, during the jump, in order to prevent the hull from disintegrating, a majority of energy shields will need to be activated, which will waste over 9% of the crystal core engine energy and prevent the possibility of another jump."

The reminder from H'el's AI assistant snapped him out of his melancholic emotions, and his rational gaze returned.

He didn't have time to indulge in sentimental sadness right now.

For the time being, he put aside the idea of quickly heading to the Kryptonian ruins.

Firstly, there was the matter of the spaceship's condition.

Secondly, he couldn't neglect Sylvia's safety.

But these two objectives could be pursued concurrently.

If he could resolve the spaceship's issues while Sylvia completed her learning in the brain tank, it would be the perfect time to go to the Kryptonian ruins.

"List the damaged areas of the ship," H'el requested.

H'el couldn't help but sigh. He hadn't expected that after a stint as a computer programmer in the Pacific Rim, he'd be back in the DC Universe, playing the role of a spaceship repairman.

A holographic representation of the ship appeared before H'el. Apart from critical areas like the crystal core main engine and the medical bay, the other sections were marked with varying degrees of damage. Even the two auxiliary thrusters had exploded, leaving two large holes.

"Jor-El, you heartless..." H'el muttered to himself. If it weren't for the existence of his special ability, he would have been done for.

"First, we're going to MT745, the wandering planet, for maintenance. Besides the spaceship assistants in charge of the medical bay, prepare to deploy all engineering machinery and spaceship assistants to assist me in repairing the ship."

"Disable navigation flight mode, convert crystal core engine energy at full capacity, and open the outer airlock."

H'el's feet left the ground as he floated up. Slowly, he moved through the metallic corridor of the ship, heading towards the outer airlock.

The outer airlock doors opened in two rows, and as he transitioned from the ship to the outer space, the Kryptonian atmosphere gradually thinned. In the process, H'el felt an unfamiliar sensation, akin to a strong man suddenly catching a cold - his body weight seemed to fluctuate erratically. It was an uncomfortable feeling.

He flew directly out into the vacuum of space. Under the brilliant starry sky, he suspended himself in space. The black nanosuit on his body seemed to come alive, absorbing cosmic radiation. A ripple of blue light emanated from H'el's chest, spreading throughout his body. Various forms of powerful radiation energy were being replenished into his cells and converted into power.

He gazed at the thinly-atmosphered wandering planet, MT745, beneath him. Its surface was a mixture of thin glaciers and brownish rocky terrain, with countless peaks and valleys. At first glance, it appeared devoid of any life.

Wandering planets, also known as interstellar planets or orphan planets, were planets that no longer orbited any star. They had originally orbited their own stars but were ejected from their planetary systems due to gravitational interactions with other celestial bodies, eventually becoming wanderers in space or within galaxies.

MT745 had been wandering in the cosmos for at least a million years, and its atmosphere was currently dissipating. It might have undergone internal changes, no longer possessing sufficient heat to maintain its atmospheric stability through planetary rotation.

Underneath the rocky surface of this planet, it was highly likely that there were minerals that had evolved before it became a wandering planet.

Perfect for repairing the spaceship.

"Let's go!"

H'el placed his hands on the rear of the Stellar Probe, right between the two exploded auxiliary thrusters. His bio-magnetic field enveloped the entire Stellar Probe, creating a buffering force field, and he began accelerating it.

From the start, he accelerated to nearly 50 Mach. Under H'el's created buffering force field, the Stellar Probe remained stable, with no signs of shaking.

Then, it reached 100 Mach, 200 Mach. In his nanosuit, H'el maintained a balanced speed that his peak physical condition could handle, reaching 540 Mach.

In the next moment, at a speed of 500 Mach, the Stellar Probe shot forward like a meteor. In just a week, it arrived at the surface of the wandering planet MT745, flying directly down towards it.

In the thin atmosphere, the Stellar Probe was pushed forward, leaving a trail of red flames in its wake. It finally reached the surface of MT745, the wandering planet.

H'el's bio-magnetic field created multiple buffering force fields, which slowed the Stellar Probe down gradually and evenly from its previous acceleration of 500 Mach.

*Thud.*

Gently, the Stellar Probe was placed down on the surface of the planet, crushing thin ice and shattering rocks. The rocks easily cracked with a light grip.

H'el stepped out from behind the Stellar Probe and looked out into the vast, desolate expanse of the planet's dusty environment. It was barren, cold, and desolate, stretching to the horizon and blowing sand and dust against his face.

It was a desolate wasteland.

H'el's black boots crushed the rocks, and his nanosuit, following his thoughts, began analyzing the atmosphere composition, air humidity, temperature, and more of this wandering planet. The nanobots beneath his boots extracted rock samples, connected to Zero, and began various isotope tests for geological age, including potassium-argon dating, rubidium-strontium dating, uranium-lead dating, and uranium-neodymium dating.

H'el quickly received the information.

MT745, the wandering planet, had a primarily carbon dioxide atmosphere (95.3%) - thin, frigid, dry, and dusty, with an average temperature of -130 degrees Celsius.

The planet's surface was covered in impact craters, canyons, dunes, and pebbles, with no stable liquid water. The southern hemisphere consisted of ancient highlands full of impact craters, while the northern hemisphere was a relatively younger lowland plain.

In terms of planetary scale, this planet was still relatively young, just over two billion years old. However, it gave H'el a bad feeling. The geological magnetic field activity was too low, and at the current rate of atmospheric dissipation, it would completely lose its atmosphere within the next 50 years, leaving the planet's surface fully exposed to cosmic radiation.

Every day, the temperature on this planet decreased by 2 degrees Celsius, heading toward the extreme cold of -270 degrees Celsius in space.

H'el furrowed his brow, activated his telescopic vision and X-ray vision, and peered into the geological interior of MT745, the wandering planet.

His expression shifted.

"Who dug out the core?"
