Chapter 82: Chapter 82: An Insane Race

The Earth stopped rotating.

From now on, it would only face the sun one side continuously.

Because of Earth's rotation, sunlight could be distributed somewhat evenly across the planet. This allowed Earth's temperature to maintain balance, making most regions suitable for human habitation.

The seven-layered Golden Barrier had already absorbed a quarter of the sunlight, and it was on the verge of absorbing all the sunlight that reached Earth. In the future, the Earth would no longer rotate, and there would be no sunlight. It would be in darkness 24 hours a day.

Simultaneously, the cessation of Earth's rotation would cause significant changes in continents and oceans.

While Earth might appear round, it's not a perfect sphere. Earth is an irregularly shaped oblate spheroid with a bulge at the equator. This means that during Earth's rotation, centrifugal forces push water primarily toward the equator.

Once the Earth stopped spinning, the oceans would slowly migrate toward the North and South poles, while the continents would shift toward the equator. Ultimately, this would result in an unprecedented new supercontinent.

The consequences of this change would extend even further.

The Earth's magnetic field is generated by the material pressure within the Earth during its rotation. Therefore, the Earth's magnetic field is intrinsically tied to its rotation.

So, if the Earth stopped rotating, the magnetic field would weaken, and its protective effects against solar wind would diminish. Without a magnetic field, solar storms would devastate all surface life.

Fortunately, the seven-layered Golden Barrier could absorb solar energy and cosmic radiation, channeling it toward the central point, where H'el would absorb it.

So, even if the Earth stopped rotating, humans could still carve out underground cities to survive.

Of course, the Moon's tidal forces on Earth would inevitably cause significant and ongoing collisions between continents and ocean waters. Tsunamis, reaching heights of tens to hundreds of meters, would occur one after another, covering Earth's landmasses.

In about 5 to 10 years, the Moon would collide directly with Earth.

All of this was gradually happening as H'el had brought Earth's rotation to a halt.

Hoover Dam.

The temperature here had already plummeted to -120 degrees Celsius. In just five days, the once-flowing water surfaces had begun to freeze over with a thick layer of ice. The entire world, as far as the eye could see, resembled the surface of a rogue planet, a vast and bone-chilling expanse of white, devoid of any signs of life.

A deathly silence and coldness were spreading outward from the center.

Since transforming the Black Nanotech Battlesuit into a Transformer, coupled with the electromagnetic force control assistance of the Black Armor, the coverage of the seven-layered Golden Barrier began to accelerate.

"Hmm?"

H'el exhaled softly, and even his breath turned into ice particles. He looked towards the thermosphere, his brow furrowing in confusion.

He didn't believe that the Transformers on Earth could stop him.

So, he wasn't overly concerned about Megatron's escape.

But now, it seemed that intelligent lifeforms could still find ways to thwart his plans.

"Black Armor, maintain control over Earth's magnetic field. Prevent it from resuming rotation. Continue manipulating atomic positions with electromagnetic force until I return."

"Understood, Master." The Black Arnor, a metallic mechanoid standing five meters tall with a sleek, sci-fi energy field coursing through it, replied dutifully.

H'el gazed at the thermosphere in the atmosphere, his figure shimmering, and in an instant, with a 'whoosh,' he arrived in the thermosphere before Optimus Prime.

He had just completed the construction of the third layer of the Golden Barrier, halting Earth's rotation. The atmosphere had not yet adapted to the change and still retained its previous temperature.

The temperature in the thermosphere rapidly increased with altitude. At the location where Optimus Prime was standing, the temperature was a scorching 1226.85 degrees Celsius.

"What do you intend to do?" H'el gently extended his right hand, and a biological magnetic field extended from it, immobilizing Optimus Prime's movements. He activated penetrating and microscopic vision, looking at the bulky and rocket-like apparatus on Optimus Prime's back.

"Why would you inflict such harm on your own kind when life on Earth shares the same origin as you?" Optimus Prime saw H'el, struggling but unable to break free from the magnetic grip. His deep blue pupils swirled as he questioned solemnly.

With Earth's rotation halted, the absence of sunlight, continental shifts, frequent tsunamis, a weakened atmosphere, and all the other catastrophes were inflicting devastating blows on life on Earth.

Why would someone be so cruel to their own planet and to humanity?

"???"

"You and the two major Transformer factions controlled by Megatron have brought Cybertron to the brink of energy depletion. Cybertron is near destruction, and many Cybertronians are wandering through the cosmos. Why?" H'el's penetrating and microscopic vision swept across Optimus Prime's back, analyzing the function of the machinery he carried.

An instrument that absorbs sculpted protons.

This was their method to stop him?

Optimus Prime felt choked by the question.

He had dozens of reasons, such as fighting for justice, freedom, for the Autobots, and to prevent tyranny, but he couldn't deny that Cybertron had suffered due to the internal war between the Autobots and Decepticons, leading to energy depletion and Cybertronians becoming interstellar wanderers.

"It's precisely because of what I've experienced that I don't want humanity to go through the same." Optimus Prime shook his head, his gaze filled with compassion, as he secretly sent a message, [He's here, activate the teleporter!]

H'el believed that these intelligent beings, who considered themselves kind and compassionate, yet mercilessly killed their own kind while risking their lives to protect humanity, had twisted minds.

When their civilization's survival was in question, they still cared about humans? A civilization that prioritized protecting humans over reviving their own kind was truly terrifying.

They were insane.

H'el didn't bother arguing further with Optimus Prime. He controlled him with the biological magnetic field and saw the message sent by his magnetic waves to activate the teleporter.

Using his super hearing and telescopic vision, H'el looked towards the Hawaii base. By the time Optimus Prime had reached the thermosphere, the teleporter had already been activated.

On the moon's surface, which was still rotating around Earth due to inertia, a massive light curtain appeared. Decepticons, spacecraft, gigantic mechanical creatures, and more hidden beneath the lunar dust emerged and glowed with a cruel red light, entering the teleporter's light curtain. In an instant, they were transported to Earth, commencing their campaign to conquer the planet.

However, the teleportation beam didn't target H'el as planned. Instead, it rose from another corner of Earth, pierced through the atmosphere, and shot into space.

A colossal and depleted planet slowly materialized within the teleportation beam.

"Cybertron! What are you doing, Sentinel Prime?" Faced with this scene that completely contradicted the plan, Optimus Prime shouted in disbelief.

This was not according to the plan.

"Don't bother shouting. There are still some on your planet doing the right thing, instead of sacrificing themselves to save others." H'el shook his head and clenched his right hand. The immense and unparalleled power of the biological magnetic field crushed Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime died, and his mechanical limbs fell from the sky.
